Went here with my family on Saturday night. The place was packed. We got seated quickly. The food was fantastic. Ribs are fall off the bone and so meaty. The mashed potatoes are great. The veggies aren't canned or frozen they're fresh and not over cooked. Corn bread, potato salad, sweet potato pudding were delicious. Service was great and they really care about the customers satisfaction. Great food. If you wants ribs it's the place to go. I'm giving them 4 stars because we went with a party of 8 and we were seated at 2 tables where we were squished together, while I saw them seat a party of 6 twice and they got a much bigger table! The jumbo wings were AMAZING and our kids really liked the buttermilk tenders! The kids meals were supposed to come with smiley fries but they all came out with regular fries. We asked why and they weren't really sure why it came out like that. The 4 adults ordered combo meals and they were good. One of my meats in my combo was pulled pork. It was a bit dry and didn't have much flavor to it. I ordered just the dirty rice and it came out with beans. I was ok with that but the rice was undercooked. The others in my party said the same. The brisket and ribs were GREAT! Someone ordered a salad and wanted their meal after and the salad didn't come out until after the meal and it was the wrong salad. The waitress had some mishaps but she did great in offering to fix them! The owner/manager visited the table often to check in and he was very friendly! My work team from Atlanta took a gamble on Fireflys for dinner on a Tuesday. I know what you're thinking....Barbecue? In Massachusetts? But it was very well done! The 'Burnt Ends' on the Starters menu were melt-in-your-mouth and all the barbecue entrees were done quite well (at our table we had pulled pork, St Louis ribs, and brisket). They have a great selection of hot sauce and a perfectly adequate selection of beer on tap. Our server was Jimmy and he helped us find the right selections - very friendly and helpful. EXCELLENT BBQ! Great atmosphere! Friendly service! Great fried chicken at a BBQ joint-Yes! The sausage is out of this world. Least favorite is their interpretation of red beans and rice. I mean it doesn't taste bad it just doesnt taste like what it is supposed to be. Home made potato salad using red potatoes...uh uh uh AWESOME! I just wished they would have served it in a chilled monkey dish not on the same hot plate with the rest of the combo meat items and hot sides. Would have enjoyed a little butter to go with the large portion of yummy corn bread-I guess i could have requested this from my sever but should have come with the plate...IMHO! Ask for now sauce on your meat and sample the five varieties available between the FREE condiment and hit sauce bars. A point of fact dont even use any sauce because the rub used on the meat is so good that sauce isn't really needed; again IMHO. I would love to try some of their brisket but another time. read more

First time at Firefly BBQ and the food was incredible. I had the 3 meat combo with pulled pork, beef brisket, and St. Louis ribs. All the meat was seasoned to perfection and so juicy, not a dry bite. French fries were delicious n crispy but the Mac and cheese was just ok, but the corn bread.... Oh the cornbread was amazing n I'm a huge cornbread guy. It's moist n fluffy like cake meets brownie. And to top off this BBQ sundae was the 5 star, hometown, top notch service from Jamie. He was friendly, happy, and honest. I felt like I was being served by an old friend who wanted to make sure I had the best experience in his restaurant. He had pride in his food and service like it was his own business. This place is an hour away and the food and Jamie will have me making the trip as often as I can. My new favorite BBQ joint for sure and I don't give that out likely. My husband and I enjoy Firefly's. We had one of our best experiences last night.10/18/2014 Steve the owner is so pleasant and makes you feel welcomed. Service was awesome. Natalyn was our server and she was very attentive. We always love eating the cukes in dressing. Would love to take a whole bucket of that home. We enjoyed Cracklin Bread and Mac and Cheese with pulled pork to start. So delish! I ordered the Topless Melons drink. Presentation was pretty and tasted so yummy. Dinner was Beef Brisket and my husband ordered Beef Brisket with Roasted Turkey. They were both so flavorful. The best for last, Banana Bread Pudding with ice cream, sauce. Simply amazing. We ordered catering for about 80 people for my rehearsal dinner and I was surprised by how good it was! The mac and cheese was delicious and creamy, the ribs were falling off the bone, the pulled pork was so good and the corn bread was amazing. I did not have the chicken that was there but the BBQ sauce was delicious as well. Collard greens were not good but I have never liked them before, so I can't say if it was because I do not like collards or because they were actually bad. The delivery was also perfectly on time and they provided utensils. read more

My kids took me out for BBQ for my birthday. They chose Firefly's. I'd not been there before. I was blown away by it's authenticity and delicious food. Have yet to be disappointed. Great outdoor dining. Great service both times we went. Burnt ends and onion straws are delicious apps. Alcoholic beverages were a bit weak/small for the price, but still tasty. The chips in the nachos were super crunchy and stayed super crunchy; definitely enough nachos to share, or if you're super hungry like I was, I got it as my meal and was busting at the seams when leaving. There was BBQ sauce on the meat of the nachos but I would have preferred it be on the side. Cornbread was sweet and moist. Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful; appetizer came with seasoned breadcrumbs on top, but quarts/side orders of mac do not come with crumbs. Chicken and waffle was great; super crispy chicken and soft Belgian waffle. Fries are crispy, but the portion is tiny. Sweet tea was great the first visit..not coyingly sweet. The second visit, it was a little too sweet. They serve fountain drinks and tea in large cups, so you don't get stuck without a drink as you start your entrees and the need for refills is less frequent. The pulled pork, burnt ends, and pulled chicken on nachos were topped with BBQ sauce, and the sauces all taste different on their own and taste different depending on what they're on - we will likely ask for them on the side of certain dishes. Beignets were hot and sweet, fried to a crunchy golden brown; they're filled with chocolate and served with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauces. read more

Arrived early for a small party. Sat in the bar for a beer and apps. Service was quick and friendly. The draft beer was cold but a tad skunked, but still very drinkable. The wings were big and meaty and definitely worth the "half price before 5:30". That said I didn't really like all the barbeque sauce on the wings and rate the food average. The rest of the party arrived and we moved into the dining room. As in the bar the service was quick and friendly. The consensus was that the food was just OK, not bad, not great. I'm rating this place slightly above average. On the plus side was the service and price. On the negative side was the food. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't particularly good. Exceptional meal from drinks to apps to entrees! The cucumber salad is perfect; sweet and tart with crisp cucumber slices. The onion straws app is perfectly crisp with a horseradish ranch dip and the crazy roo wings just the right amount of heat and spice.. I have eaten at Firefly's more times than I can count in the 13 years I've lived in the area. It is THE BEST BBQ in MetroWest, hands down. On top of that, they have THE BEST CRABCAKES I've had any where. We travel all over the US and I love crabcakes so I try them out when ever we are in crab country. Steve the owner takes his food very seriously. I have never had a bad meal here. We are moving to the South and my kids are worried the the BBQ won't be as good as FireFly's.
