I highly recommend Firefly's BBQ for families and babies. It is super kid friendly and you can call ahead to put your name on the list so by the time you get everyone out of the car, find a spot, or valet park, your table is ready! Jamie was so patient and helped us through the entire menu even though it was a Friday night and the restaurant was loaded. This was our first visit and we had a toddler so he explained everything and went over the St. Patrick's Day specials and drinks and the portion sizes. They have a huge staff to keep the place running and the food is amazing True New Orleans style BBQ and beignets for dessert. I will go back and make sure Jamie is there because (besides for the food) he was the high lite of the night. So interesting to talk to, knowledgeable about the food and the prep work. A new favorite for our family. I hope to go back sometime without the baby and check out the live music in the back of the restaurant. read more

Had a wonderful 23rd Anniversary dinner. Great food and service. Cannot wait to go back again. Steak tips were awesome!

We tried to go there Saturday night 2 of us when we were greeted at the door we were asked if we had a reservation we didn't know they took them for 2 we have been there before we were brought to a small table which neither of us liked and we asked if we could have the booth that had opened up we were told there was a reservation on it so we asked about another table and told the same needless to say we left and will not go back due to rudeness as far as I'm concerned I'm in the business and I understand a reservation is a reservation but I was a customer ready to spend my money very disappointed in the way it was handled in read more

Went here with my family on Saturday night. The place was packed. We got seated quickly. The food was fantastic. Ribs are fall off the bone and so meaty. The mashed potatoes are great. The veggies aren't canned or frozen they're fresh and not over cooked. Corn bread, potato salad, sweet potato pudding were delicious. Service was great and they really care about the customers satisfaction. Great food. If you wants ribs it's the place to go. There were so many other dishes that came by our table that looked amazing too. We will definitely be going back to try some! read more

Smash this place! The food is amazing. Our server Jamie was fantastic and had the best suggestions. Can't wait to come back.

I'm giving them 4 stars because we went with a party of 8 and we were seated at 2 tables where we were squished together, while I saw them seat a party of 6 twice and they got a much bigger table! The jumbo wings were AMAZING and our kids really liked the buttermilk tenders! The kids meals were supposed to come with smiley fries but they all came out with regular fries. We asked why and they weren't really sure why it came out like that. The 4 adults ordered combo meals and they were good. One of my meats in my combo was pulled pork. It was a bit dry and didn't have much flavor to it. I ordered just the dirty rice and it came out with beans. I was ok with that but the rice was undercooked. The others in my party said the same. The brisket and ribs were GREAT! Someone ordered a salad and wanted their meal after and the salad didn't come out until after the meal and it was the wrong salad. The waitress had some mishaps but she did great in offering to fix them! The owner/manager visited the table often to check in and he was very friendly! All is said and done, we would certainly go back again! read more

My work team from Atlanta took a gamble on Fireflys for dinner on a Tuesday. I know what you're thinking....Barbecue? In Massachusetts? But it was very well done! The 'Burnt Ends' on the Starters menu were melt-in-your-mouth and all the barbecue entrees were done quite well (at our table we had pulled pork, St Louis ribs, and brisket). They have a great selection of hot sauce and a perfectly adequate selection of beer on tap. Our server was Jimmy and he helped us find the right selections - very friendly and helpful. Ask for his section! Would absolutely go back. read more

EXCELLENT BBQ! Great atmosphere! Friendly service! Great fried chicken at a BBQ joint-Yes! The sausage is out of this world. Least favorite is their interpretation of red beans and rice. I mean it doesn't taste bad it just doesnt taste like what it is supposed to be. Home made potato salad using red potatoes...uh uh uh AWESOME! I just wished they would have served it in a chilled monkey dish not on the same hot plate with the rest of the combo meat items and hot sides. Would have enjoyed a little butter to go with the large portion of yummy corn bread-I guess i could have requested this from my sever but should have come with the plate...IMHO! Ask for now sauce on your meat and sample the five varieties available between the FREE condiment and hit sauce bars. A point of fact dont even use any sauce because the rub used on the meat is so good that sauce isn't really needed; again IMHO. I would love to try some of their brisket but another time. read more

First time at Firefly BBQ and the food was incredible. I had the 3 meat combo with pulled pork, beef brisket, and St. Louis ribs. All the meat was seasoned to perfection and so juicy, not a dry bite. French fries were delicious n crispy but the Mac and cheese was just ok, but the corn bread.... Oh the cornbread was amazing n I'm a huge cornbread guy. It's moist n fluffy like cake meets brownie. And to top off this BBQ sundae was the 5 star, hometown, top notch service from Jamie. He was friendly, happy, and honest. I felt like I was being served by an old friend who wanted to make sure I had the best experience in his restaurant. He had pride in his food and service like it was his own business. This place is an hour away and the food and Jamie will have me making the trip as often as I can. My new favorite BBQ joint for sure and I don't give that out likely. Thank you Firefly and thank you Jamie for a great birthday meal! read more

My kids took me out for BBQ for my birthday. They chose Firefly's. I'd not been there before. I was blown away by it's authenticity and delicious food. I chose the combo with 3 meats and it was way beyond my expectation. The Memphis kicked up sauce is great. Perfect night. My boy's really did their homework with this place. read more

Thanks again Pam and Firefly's for accommodating our company catering event even with such a short notice. Food was a hit! Everyone loved the Beef brisket and pulled pork! everything is just so good! read more

Best BBQ we've ever had! The staff is professional and friendly, the atmosphere is great and the food is absolutely amazing! 5/5 recommend!

Have yet to be disappointed. Great outdoor dining. Great service both times we went. Burnt ends and onion straws are delicious apps. Alcoholic beverages were a bit weak/small for the price, but still tasty. The chips in the nachos were super crunchy and stayed super crunchy; definitely enough nachos to share, or if you're super hungry like I was, I got it as my meal and was busting at the seams when leaving. There was BBQ sauce on the meat of the nachos but I would have preferred it be on the side. Cornbread was sweet and moist. Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful; appetizer came with seasoned breadcrumbs on top, but quarts/side orders of mac do not come with crumbs. Chicken and waffle was great; super crispy chicken and soft Belgian waffle. Fries are crispy, but the portion is tiny. Sweet tea was great the first visit..not coyingly sweet. The second visit, it was a little too sweet. They serve fountain drinks and tea in large cups, so you don't get stuck without a drink as you start your entrees and the need for refills is less frequent. The pulled pork, burnt ends, and pulled chicken on nachos were topped with BBQ sauce, and the sauces all taste different on their own and taste different depending on what they're on - we will likely ask for them on the side of certain dishes. Beignets were hot and sweet, fried to a crunchy golden brown; they're filled with chocolate and served with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauces. read more

I go there for the brunch buffet on Sundays here n there. The BBQ is good (7 out of 10). Not too authentic but still pretty good. You wanna get a good deal head in for the brunch buffet. Who has ribs, wings, and tons of other BBQ, breakfast foods, and all the sides (with dessert) for $20 each? read more

Serenity was soo helpful in her suggestions and it was fantastic food! I'm from the south and don't normally enjoy smoked/BBQ restaurant. But Firefly's seasoned their food properly, nothing felt overly dry or overcooked, and the sauces were spot on! (They even have great sweet tea in enormous cups!!) read more

If you are looking for high quality good tasting BBQ - nothing fancy - just all arounjd goodness - Firefly's is the place for you!

We just moved to the area & really like this place. My new favorite salad is the salvational salad. Delish!

We will not be back! We had family in from out of town, so we thought we would take them to our local BBQ- we had 9 people in our group, we decided to go at 4:45 on a Sunday afternoon to beat the crowd. We were sat and our waitress came right over to take our drink orders. After that we didn't see her for a half hour. She then came back and took our order, then the real fun started! After waiting for over an hour and a half for our dinners, the kids at our table were falling asleep, the table of 12 that came in about 30 minutes after us had their food before us, , Then when our food did come, it was cold and 3 out of 9 orders were wrong- we were given Pork and not chicken for the Pulled Chicken Platters. We asked to speak with the manager who then came out and told us she was to busy to talk to us because she was trying to get our order out to us..?.. So much for beating the crowds, we did not get out of here until after 7:30! While we were there 2 other tables walked out, and we watched as no less then 3 people had to chase someone down just to pay their bill so they could leave. In the future we will not go back here when we have family in town or any other time.. read more

You cannot beat this place, Firefly's is my favorite BBQ place on the planet! Just went last night with the whole family to celebrate my 40th and everyone left raving about the place. The "burnt ends"' Cheeseburger Pizza and fried pickles were a perfect starting point to get our taste buds ready for the delicious, fall off the bone ribs! My Mother loved the thick, spicey chili and my father could not stop talking about the jumbo wings. The kids tell me that they have the best grilled cheese and waffles "Eva!". Our friendly waitress and the owner brought out a slice of warm, red velvet cake the size of my head which I enjoyed despite the fact that I was beyond full. I just finished of the pizza and ribs for breakfast! I have gone to BBQ places all over the world and fireflies continues to outclass them all! I go every year on my. B- day! read more

We have been going to Firefly's since the day it opened....13 years ago! We live nearby and witness the crowds that have continually poured into this one of a kind Barbeque/Soul Food restaurant. There is not a day that the parking lot is not full....except of course during a winter snow storm - 3/4 full - die hard Firefly lover's were there! The owner, Steve, is always there to greet you with a smile, and walks the floor to make sure his patrons are happy and satisfied with their meals. I would absolutely give this restaurant "5" stars! From service, to the one of a kind menu selections, to the atmosphere - to the wait staff...it's excellent. Steve has done an amazing job over the past thirteen years with the menu, and the kids menu too! I would highly recommend Firefly read more

This place is fantastic I have had many BBQ and this is one of the best the smokey wings with ranch sauce are the best and anything on the menu is great read more

One word -- Amazing!! I was brought here for my birthday and I was a bit skeptical given my fondness of Southern BBQ. Firefly's did not disappoint!!! I'm a Carolina BBQ girl, and it's hard to find a good Carolina-style (let alone one in New England!!). I took the leap of faith and ordered a half rack of baby back ribs done with their North Carolina sauce. I was amazed... I found a Southern oasis in Marlborough!!! The ribs were cooked to perfection! The service was right in par with the food. Our waitress, Laurel, was very attentive, friendly, and quick with anything that we requested. Also, the owner stopped by our table twice during our meal to check on us. Very nice! Already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Ive been there a few times and the food is very unique. i enjoy that the owner is always on the premises checking in with the clients to see if they enjoyed it. I keep going and bringing back my family and friends. read more

I've been going to Firefly's since I started going to Framingham State over 10 years ago. We go almost once a week now as a family! I enjoy everything from pulled chicken, to pulled pork, to Brisket and Ribs. My favorites have to include the Dixie kiss sauce, Mac and Cheese (So cheesy!), and the burnt ends (Freakin amazing). I've even done an event here, my wife and I had our baby shower in Dante's. The service was excellent (As it always is), and everything was hot and delicious. They were very accommodating both on menu choices and set up. The mixed drinks are good, pricing isn't over done, the beer selection is great too. This is on the short lists of restaurants I'd go to any night any time I'm hungry. read more

Just finished a delicious meal of pork ribs, mac 'n cheese and sweet potato pudding. The ribs were smoky, flavorful and fall-off-the bone, just the way they make them in my hometown of Memphis. The manager came around several times asking how everything was and inquired if we needed anything. Our waitress was friendly. I loved it so much that I signed up for their customer reward card. Now I can get perks for eating here - oh, yeah! I'll be back soon. read more

Awesome food with a wide variety of service. The Firefly's in Framingham was always my favorite but this one is good too if not bigger. The service is still pretty far above average. Their cucumber salad makes for a great appetizer. For food I recommend the "Waffle Lot of Chicken" dinner with the honey glazed carrots and jalapeño corn bread. I've also heard from many people that the sweet potatoes are to die for! read more

Food and sevice is excellent! Best barbeque ever had. Very resonably priced. The owner is even there on Saturday night to greet you. read more

This restaurant has the best BBQ I have ever tasted outside of the Deep South! The menu is extensive and the sauces are extremely flavorful and tasty! The brisket is so tender until you can cut it with a spoon! The baby back ribs have plenty of meat on them and the pulled pork is cooked just right. For first timers, I highly recommend the Burnt Ends as an appetizer and the 3 meat combo - $20 (pulled pork, baby back ribs and brisket). Steve and his entire staff are very friendly and attentive. Morgan is the best server in town! Ask for her tables if you can. read more

Firefly's BBQ - Bacon Candy yummy - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

See all

They offer a variety of BBQ meats (pulled pork, brisket, ribs and more) that are smoked and served with a wide option of traditional sides such as collard greens, red beans and rice, etc. They have a neat little pepper bar and a wall of color-coded hot sauces to try in addition to their in-house BBQ sauces. They had plenty of little ketchup cups on hand which encourage you to try as many sauces as you'd like. The quality of the BBQ is very high for the north, though about average if you're from the south. Service was quick and friendly, with the owner stopping by to check on us. I would totally recommend this place if you have a BBQ craving or just want a hearty meal! read more

Great BBQ, I ordered the Pete's Sampler with the ribs and BBQ chicken and it was fantastic. Great service, and I love the choices of the BBQ sauces and hot sauces. But I do not recommend trying the Ghost Pepper hot sauce, my mouth was literally on fire for a 1/2 hour. Overall, it's a great restaurant and I definitely will be coming back soon. read more

Absolutely terrible service, but wonderful food. The mac n cheese is so good!! We had to wait a very long time for everything though.

Firefly's is a favorite of my wife and I. They catered our wedding and we are there at least once a month for dinner and drinks. The servers are all friendly, bartenders are great(doesn't hurt that they know what we drink), and the owners Steve is a great guy, always there making everyone feel welcome. read more

Best local barbecue I've had. Combos are huge. Upgrade to jalapeño corn bread. Mac and cheese and collard greens are go-tos. Burnt ends are my favorite and it's served as an appetizer, but it's not consistent - sometimes they're juicy and fatty and all the unhealthyness you're hoping for, and sometimes it's just slightly overcooked brisket. Make sure you check with the staff if you're going for it. Overall a great meal though. read more

My total favorite place to eat, pulled pork tacos are excellent! The staff is all very friendly, and is very family friendly. It is our number one place to go for any special occasion! Highly recommended for any bbq lover! read more

Haven't been in a while, but have been numerous times in the past. Nice setting, bar has live music and private lounge type feel. Like the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Candied bacon is out of this world. It is a bit pricey and have been underwhelmed, as well as people I've been with. Went once with an ex girlfriend and her mixed drink was so bad she only took one sip. read more

My husband & I had sampled ribs from here previously & decided to check out the restaurant. We live about 40 mins away in NH so planned to go for an early dinner on a Saturday. We were greeted promptly by the host who upon hearing it was our first time there showed us the wall of hot sauces, self serve bbq sauce station & hot/pickled vegetable bar (my husband's favorite). We were served by April, she was one of the best servers I've had in some time. She was super friendly, made suggestions when we had a tough time deciding (so many delicious options!) & consistently checked on us. We both ordered cocktails (I had the "white bronco", a special- hopefully they keep it on the menu, so refreshing) which came up pretty quickly as well as two appetizers (I've never met a fried pickle I didn't like- no exception here!). My husband ordered a combo for his meal (ribs, brisket & bbq chicken) while I ordered the southern fried chicken. The food was some of the best bbq we've had! Everything was delicious & the portions were huge- enough for us to each have another full meal today! We were both stuffed but had to try the deserts. My husband went with the banana cream pie while I decided on the "I want s'more cake". AMAZING! The cake was huge! Definitely could share with 2-3 people. We ended up finishing it that night before bed. Something else to note: I noticed a man walking around to each table checking in & introducing himself throughout the evening. When he made it to our table he introduced himself as Steve, the owner. Super friendly & seemed aware of everything going on in his restaurant. I can only think of one other restaurant I've known where the owner is out on the floor checking in with the customers & thanking them for coming in. That went a long way with us. Definitely 5 stars & worth the 40 minute drive! We are already planning our next trip back! read more
