Great bbq place with good comfort foods! I always go for the southern porked Mac and cheese. The pulled pork with the Mac and cheese is mouthwatering and pairs very well together. It is a restaurant where I definitely recommend reservations as it is always busy when I dine in. They offer take out as well and a lot of people utilize this service as well. It needs to be updated. It looks like the original furniture. I would give it a complete overhaul. The food deserves a five. I had the beef brisket with two sides. It was more than enough to fill me up. The Cole slaw and cucumber salad were top notch. The sides are always the best. The portion size was huge. I looked at and decided that I had two meals in front of me. I could have had just the sides to satisfy my hunger. My brisket had bark on the outside, smoked to perfection. The pricing was on the high side but it was smoked and the serving size was large. I would give the service a five even though I had to ask for my bill. I was given water and a menu. My bartender Crystal was awesome. She was busy but didn't make me feel that way. Never felt rushed and gave great menu ideas for a first timer. All of her suggestions were perfection. I wasn't super hungry and have a restrictive diet but she wasn't bothered by my question and request. I got the Swat salad with burnt ends. She said get them soon they always sell out. I can see why!! So tender, awesome bark and smoke. What a perfect match to the swat salad. Cool, crisp, the pungent blue cheese with the sweet balsamic glaze! 10/10! When she came to ask if there was anything else I wanted I honestly replied "a second stomach" so much great food, she gave me a stoli vanilla with water which was on spot to cut the sweet heat!! Well, I have eaten here many times. The kitchen has gone downhill with the food. I ordered a 3 meat combo of fried chicken, St. Louis ribs, brisket with mac and cheese, beans sides. Fried chicken batter not the same I had before .. no southern seasonings now? Dry? A lame small breast, a drumstick dry, cold . Ribs not looking as St. Louis beefy ones I had before. These dry , cold like chicken . Brisket was dry overcooked cold with one piece moist and decent . Mac and cheese was much better in past with stronger cheese flavors. The beans not much flavors, cold . Corn bread ok , but I thought corn bread had sweeter taste last visits. A whipped butter for corn bread would be nice offering I wasn't impressed and likely to be hesitant to return . The food looked, tasted like cooked hours before, and reheated? Chef and kitchen needs to get back to how food was expected by the founder before the founder of restaurant passed away . Nothing worse than cold brisket drying sitting for hours vs coming off the smoker hot like other bbq spots I visit. BT's bbq keep their brisket in hot storage smoker til kitchen slices for plates. The Staff asked three times how all was so they are attentive, but then , so attentiveness is not there is in the kitchen area. Who is watching plates coming out of kitchen for quality control ? Waitstaff is always giving out good vibes, in the warner weather eating outdoors on the patio is a plus. Came here after fall festival and was starving. Man the line was long so we decided to do takeout which took 30minutes. Got the picnic for 6. Overall all was okay as the meat was very overcooked/dry for the beef brisket. The pulled pork had a lot of bread at the bottom which made it seemed like there was a lot of pulled pork but just a fluffer. The cornbread and chicken wings were perfection ! The fries were extremely soggy. Wish they gave us more sauce as each sauce they gave was a single cup. which didn't even last two after people took. read more

I live about an hour away but was here about 5 years ago with friends. I remember the food as being pretty good. Happened to be in the area today and decided to get lunch and grab a take out order of ribs. The food is even better than I remember - the best burger (10 oz) I have had in a long time with homemade chips that are great. Also had green beans so I could pretend I was eating healthy. Even the beans were phenomenal. Prices of food and drinks are very reasonable and the staff friendly and accommodating! What more can you ask for! read more

Five years ago, I wrote a five-star review of Firefly's BBQ. I don't usually return to update reviews unless I'm changing my rating -- so basically, I'm here to add another five stars (along with a few more photos!). How wonderful that Firefly's isn't just STILL good -- they're even better. We've now made it a vacation tradition, since we first stumbled upon this place in 2019, to make an intentional overnight stop in MA on our way to Maine just so we can have this excellent, fall of the bone tender BBQ. Best bbq in New England! I have had tried just about every bbq place around this one takes the crown. Brisket is the best around hands down.

My husband is from Texas, and therefore, extremely picky about his bbq. We recently moved to Framingham from Newton, where our go-to bbq place was Blue Ribbon. We didn't think we'd find a place that could come close, but Firefly's may have exceeded them. We shared a baby back rib half slab, mashed potatoes, catfish bites, Mac & cheese, and OMG the chocolate filled beignets. We got the Texas bbq sauce for the ribs. Everything was absolutely delicious, and my Texan husband gives them an A+. The beignets are supposed to come with 3 dipping sauces - chocolate, caramel, strawberry, but the strawberry was missing. Didn't matter though, because they really don't need sauce. Unbelievably delicious! We've found our new bbq place!! read more

Very hit and miss. Ribs were good, but slightly overdone. Definitely needed some sauce, which shouldn't be necessary for good bbq. Brisket was gray and flavorless with no bark to speak of. Not sure if there was any seasoning at all. For a $5 up charge for the platter to include brisket I would have expected more than the 3 slices I received, but it wasn't worth eating anyway. Collard greens were flavorful; smoky and slightly vinegary. Cole slaw was perfunctory. Service was great. Kinda dark in the restaurant and could probably use a revamp. read more

The St. Louis ribs with the Dixie Kiss sauce were a great recommendation from our waitress. The pulled pork and beef brisket were tasty but the ribs were the stars. The sauce choices are fun. The corn bread and the BBQ beans are fabulous. The Mac and cheese was spot on. The homemade potato chips could have been a little less greasy and saltier. I wouldn't order them again. The mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries would have been better choices. In January of 2020 I started talking with their catering dept. for a 60th birthday party with dozens of friends and family in the bar with a BBQ buffet for August of 2020. Unfortunately COVID happened. So, now in 2025, I was able to do it. Almost 5 dozen friends and family. The service was excellent. The buffet had ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken and cornbread. I was introduced to Firefly's years ago as my husband's family would frequent often and on my most recent visit, I sat outside on the patio and let me tell you, there's nowhere else you'd rather enjoy a meal in the suburbs on a warm summer evening! They are known for their whiskeys but they do have an extensive craft beer menu. I enjoyed their Julio's Liquors x Cold Harbor Brewing collaboration IPA in celebration of Julio's 50th Anniversary at the outdoor bar while a Red Sox game was on. When it comes to their BBQ, it's the best around! For starters, I love the Thai Salted Caramel Ribs and the fried pickles. Entree-wise, you can't go wrong with any of their combos or platters (I recommend trying at least 2 meats - my favorites are the pulled chicken and brisket). Leave room for dessert because their beignets are out of this world! One of my friends said she recently took a trip to New Orleans and said every beignet she had there could not compare to Firefly's! read more

Ok first time here after many years of hearing great things. Service was good waiter was pretty attentive just got a Diet Coke with lime on the side (my go to). It was very large cup. Ordered a half slab of baby backs. Slaw and mashed. Both side's were good. The ribs were a bit dry for my liking I drove about 45 minutes. So was a bit disappointing. A must try if your a bbq fan. I was pleasantly surprised. I am probably doing my review a disservice as I am writing it immediately after finishing my food and babbby I am tired. The food was so good that all I want to do is take a nap. It was my first time so I stayed a traditional bbq as I could and was not disappointed. The wings were so crispy and the sweet potato pecan casserole was a perfect sweet to balance the heat I loaded on my ribs. I will definitely be back. On top of good food my server Matt was amazing.
