Place is out dated , and the staff are not that bright at all. The managers are drinking on the job and yelling at staff. I actually had hair in my food and the managers did not help at all. A must try if your a bbq fan. I was pleasantly surprised. I am probably doing my review a disservice as I am writing it immediately after finishing my food and babbby I am tired. The food was so good that all I want to do is take a nap. It was my first time so I stayed a traditional bbq as I could and was not disappointed. I ordered the pulled pork plate which comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I ordered mashed potatoes which were deliciously buttery and mac and cheese which was so creamy, it was to DIE for. I have been coming here for almost 7 years. I felt that there was truly heart and passion with this restaurant. The staff were caring the vibes were great, and the food was the best barbecue that you could get in New England in my opinion. sadly, ever since fall of last year going into this year that has dramatically changed. I have eaten at this restaurant this year, a total of four times. Twice in the beginning of the year once in the summertime and once last week. They truly do not care about what they're doing anymore. I think that they have cut corners dramatically and they are going through staff constantly because they can't find any solid decent waiters or waitresses to work there that will take the job seriously. I have come in here during dinner time when the place is absolutely packed and I see a group of waiters and waitresses congregating in the middle of the restaurant just chatting away when they can be doing something productive. They don't really do a decent job cleaning tables anymore when things used to be spotless. Every time that I had come in this year tables were absolutely filthy. Beef brisket used to be one of my favorite things I would get here along with the ribs and they have been absolutely awful this year. When we had mentioned this to our waiter, they would bring over a manager who was very rude and could not take criticism at all. We do drop a good chunk of change every time we have come here and we expect quality service and food for the price we have to pay. Honestly, I would rather go to Texas roadhouse then to come back here again. I have to assume that they make a lot of money in the bar and with Dante's downstairs when they have events but honestly, I think the food is garbage now. Upon waking up to the doors you have the option to scan QR codes for menus and other amenities offered in case there is a line out the door. Thankfully it was 4:45pm on a rainy Thursday afternoon so that likely had s a play in the lack of patrons at that hour. The menu isn't too big but they do have a decent handful of options to choose from. Since this was my first time I decided to purchase their 4 Meat Combo (comes with cornbread) because I wanted to get a good taste of the menu. I chose the Texas Brisket, Texas Sausage, Pulled Pork, St. Louis ribs, collard greens, and sweet potato pecan pudding. I can't speak to the ambiance because I purchased my food to go since I live 5 minutes from Firefly's but it had a nice modernized western feel to it. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable too. Texas Brisket was nicely seasoned, good bark, slight smoke taste and had a an appropriate amount of fat but it was slightly dry (could have been from my 5 minute commute but doubtful). Texas Sausage might be my favorite of the bunch because it was nicely smoked and had a great seasoning to it. Chew was good and didn't have an overbearing fat content I've found in some sausages. Pulled Pork was lightly seasoned and had a good amount of moisture left in it which was a pleasant surprise. Had a very slight smokiness to it which is fine because I'd prefer to let the taste of the pork meat sing rather than a seasoning or smokiness. St. Louis ribs were quite good. The smoke was about perfect, they didn't fall apart but they did pull apart nicely, the rub was sweet and tangy with a slight hint of spice to them. Collard greens were good. I can't say I've tried them in general but they were highly recommended. Best way I could describe it is eating steamed artichoke, which I love. Lightly salted and season. Not much else to it. Sweet potato pecan pudding was amazing! Never have tried it before but I love pecan pie and sweet potato so it seemed like a no-brainer. Just get it, you won't be disappointed. Corn bread came highly recommended too and it did not disappoint. They give you two portions of 2 pieces each (4 pieces total) with butter spread between them. The butter wasn't melted on mine but that's fine because it acted as a nice, fatty frosting. The consistency of the bread was like a dense thick brownie. Couldn't be happier about this because I'm not a fan of cornbread that crumbles as you eat it resulting in a mess on your plate. St. Louis bbq sauce. My preference is a sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce that had a lighter than molasses texture to it but not to the degree that it would run off whatever you spread it on. I believe the St Louis was the sauce I enjoyed the most but I can't be sure because I didn't label my sauce containers that I arranged at their sauce station. Each have their place with someone else and I can't say any of them weren't good. All in all, would return again. The idea of their five main bbq sauces and then a wall of easily 40-50 hot sauces tiered from mild to higher scoville rating was fun, pleasing, exciting and downright delicious when paired with their perfectly balanced food! It was a good adventure overall! We ordered the waffles n chicken with Mac n cheese and sweet potato pecan pudding, the combo with the ribs, more fried chicken, cornbread, fries. Mains were generous and the ~6 oz sides were filling! Food quality from textures of crunchy, fried and succulent without sacrificing flavor and having a sense of soul food meets bbq blew expectations. Juicy bbq were sweet yet smokey. The sides were hitting the mark for exactly what they were meant to be. Extra cheesy Mac, the savory yet sweetness of the sweet potato pecan pudding, corn bread that was hearty yet dense and flavorful, crunchy yet firm fries, a light waffle and hands down amazingly sliced crispy chicken juicy in the inside. Again, texture contrasts were a huge win! Sauces across the board only enhanced flavors by accenting tang, spice, smoke, sweet, fruity, sour, molasses and salt. Add portion size and you walked away full and pleased! Lastly this place is the experience! From the booths to the bar area and 12-tvs. A lot is accommodated on top of what was a fun experience of choosing sauces and dabs. Unique for everyone and almost like choose your own spice adventure. Wait staff (Alexandra was extremely helpful and chipper as our server) were hopeful and even added to the experience and encouraging of the dabbing sauces. I was nearly introduced to their spiciest dab sauce that's kept in a fun locked up display box. Yessssss! From service (compliments of of Dawn), to the ambiance, to the FOOD, to management (I'm sorry we stayed so late, Robert!).... I cannot believe how amazing this place is. AND, for the LOVE OF GOD WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR US TO COME?! Food is on POINT. The baby back ribs were moist, saucy and falling off the bone...even though we came in late. I mean- how many times have you gone to a restaurant late in the evening and had FRESH TASTING ribs?! I'm mad my fiancé ordered them and not me, lol. However, my fried chicken was LITERALLY to die for! Crispy, well seasoned crust and a super moist inside. It's the stuff I'd travel back to New Orleans for. But how can I forget to mention the Mac and Cheese? Maybe I should have started off this entire review chatting up the pulled pork Mac. It's drool-worthy, I tell ya! It's DEFINITELY a MUST ORDER. One of my favorite places. 6 of us went there Sunday night around 8:00. My cousin from Italy was with us. Andrea was our server and was great! Fast and efficient. She took our orders (one of us had a special order and Andrea was able to accommodate her. The food is always on point here and they have great BBQ. I got the 2 meat combo (chicken and brisket. I reviewed the prices on their website. Upon paying, PROBLEM#1 - I noticed the discrepancy (charging more than what was on their website at that time.) When I brought this up and showed them the web price versus my receipt price, the women at the register didn't seem to know how to handle the situation. They were all flustered. They handed me a coupon for my troubles (I think it was $10). I was going to post a review at that time but, since they accommodated me, I didn't and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward to last week (Friday 10/27/23) I went to use my coupon, and realized it had the word "VOID" written on the back, I hadn't noticed it before, but this is how it was given to me!!! PROBLEM #2 - The manager (a man) challenged me on this coupon. (A coupon THEY GAVE TO ME, because they were OVER CHARGING!) He said he was the GM and he doesn't give those out. He wasn't there when it was given to me so I don't know what he is talking about. He told me he would honor it this time (buddy, I wasn't the one overcharging customers, and I didn't ask for this coupon, it was GIVEN to me!) I explained that I had already paid my bill for the night. He said it wasn't a problem and that he would override it. It might take a few days. Again, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, another mistake I made. PROBLEM #3 - It has now been 7 days, and as you might have guessed, there was NO CREDIT GIVEN!! Now, the issue isn't about the money. It's the principle. They overcharged their customers (and maybe they still are, I haven't checked). I caught them, they gave me what turned out to be a BOGUS coupon, and then didn't want to honor it. Then they have the nerve to imply that I was using a fake/used coupon! That is HORRIBLE customer service. So BEWARE. Check your receipts and if you get a coupon, GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! read more

Gerry was our server for a table of 8 and he was fantastic. Very helpful and kept our drinks full. I had the brisket, fried chicken, and ribs. The chicken and ribs were my favorite and would get those as a whole meal! Burnt ends were awesome. I wish I tried the dessert but I was too fill, maybe next time! Firefly's never fails to disappoint. Great food, great atmosphere, and quality customer service. I live for the Crazy Roo Wings here. Good sized wings with an amazing sauce that keeps me wanting more. Their standard bbq fare is also nothing to sneeze at. Their tender ribs and pulled pork are something to be desired for sure I have an annual get together here every holiday season... and the staff are always helpful and attentive when the 20 (or so) of us get together. We always enjoy our time... as well as the food! I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for pretty good bbq in New England. I don't drink bourbon but was assured that their drink menu is better than anyone around and I believe it. They had Foam Brewery (VT) on their beer list which was a nice treat. I came to Firefly's for the first time over the weekend. I was very happy to see the multiple safety measures for COVID-19 in place. Although it took a little longer to get the table ready I was confident it was clean and they were limiting capacity appropriately. Our server Jerry was amazing. He recommended the wings as the best appetizer on the menu and they did not disappoint. I enjoyed them more than some of the entrees. I ordered a four meat combo with two orders of ribs, pulled pork, and sausage. The Carolina sauce was a little boring compared to the delicious Dixie kiss which Jerry also recommended for us. The sausage was also good but salty and the pulled pork was good but didn't wow me. Overall our standout was Jerry. Our server, Jules, was a mess - 3 things we ordered never came out; things we didn't order, showed up anyway. Anything we asked for - BBQ sauce, water refills - was met with eye rolls and disdain. Mid-dinner, Jules dropped the check on our table - clearly looking for us to leave. Dessert would have been nice, but Jules must have had somewhere else to be. Terrible Experience! The service was horrible for our table. The waitress came fine for drinks but then disappeared. We even had reservations, but still got no service. 45 minutes later, we asked the preservationist to check on ours meals as it was a so long and a table after us was served but no us. She didn't even come back to let us know. Wow! My friend's husband was so mad he insisted on leaving. As we were walking out the door, the receptionist said our meals were at the window waiting to be served. We didn't see anything but whatever. We went to Kennedy's and got great service. Anyway, it kinda spoiled the whole event for us. We had ordered food for a catering event from them and it was good, but the service was so bad that I guess I will just find another BBQ place.
