One of my favorite places. 6 of us went there Sunday night around 8:00. My cousin from Italy was with us. Andrea was our server and was great! Fast and efficient. She took our orders (one of us had a special order and Andrea was able to accommodate her. The food is always on point here and they have great BBQ. I got the 2 meat combo (chicken and brisket. My Italian got the ribs and brisket and he was in aww how great it was. Some of the girls got bowls and a salad with steak tips. Love this place. It's a must try!!! read more

I had heard about Firefly's for years and finally happened to be in the area, I stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar because there was no wait. Margarita - Prepared perfectly with salt. Exactly what you want it to be. Burnt Ends - This is listed as an appetizer but I'd probably consider it for a main course if it wasn't so rich. It's served with a horseradish sauce. Platter - The fried chicken was off the charts. I would also say the sweet potato pecan pudding side dish is certainly a must order. The brisket and cornbread were also good choices. read more

Firefly's is a great place - comfortable and fun both inside and out. The food is excellent. We went for dinner with friends on Friday night. The service, unfortunately, was awful. Our server, Jules, was a mess - 3 things we ordered never came out; things we didn't order, showed up anyway. Anything we asked for - BBQ sauce, water refills - was met with eye rolls and disdain. Mid-dinner, Jules dropped the check on our table - clearly looking for us to leave. Dessert would have been nice, but Jules must have had somewhere else to be. We will return to Firefly's - and, hopefully, have a much better experience. read more

Terrible Experience! The service was horrible for our table. The waitress came fine for drinks but then disappeared. We even had reservations, but still got no service. 45 minutes later, we asked the preservationist to check on ours meals as it was a so long and a table after us was served but no us. She didn't even come back to let us know. Wow! My friend's husband was so mad he insisted on leaving. As we were walking out the door, the receptionist said our meals were at the window waiting to be served. We didn't see anything but whatever. We went to Kennedy's and got great service. Anyway, it kinda spoiled the whole event for us. We had ordered food for a catering event from them and it was good, but the service was so bad that I guess I will just find another BBQ place. Marlborough's Fireside needs staff that at least let you know if there's a delay. read more

I ate here two days ago and I'm still full! My husband and I were headed to a small car show event at the American Heritage Museum in Hudson and we wanted to stop and get some lunch ahead of time. We'd had a craving for BBQ for a couple of weeks and had been denied at a place near our house because there was a huge wait. When this place popped up on Yelp with great reviews, I set the GPS and we headed directly here. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and there was a wait for outdoor dining. The patio had a lot of tables all nicely spaced. We opted to sit inside and felt safe based on their safety protocols along with seeing that they had removed a lot of tables and blocked off booths to allow plenty of room. Our waiter was supernice and he kept all the tables in our section happy. He was really moving fast! I had a 2 meat combo...brisket and fried chicken. The brisket was tender flavorful with a nice light crust on the outside. I could have just had that and been fine, but the fried chicken looked so good, I ate that too. It was amazing...so tender and juicy and the skin was coated and fried to perfection. Our waiter said it tasted just like his grandmother's chicken and I believe him. For sides I had green beans and mac and cheese, both were delicious. The portions of everything were large...we probably could have split it and still been happy. I wish we had had room for dessert but we were so full after eating. If I'm back in that part of Massachusetts, I know we'll be going back here. Great place! read more

Oh my goodness. I tried to refrain from ordering from here because, well, Barbeque is my weakness, however...Firefly's was so ridiculously delicious, that I will be ordering often now. Great. First, I ordered several things to last through the snow- in case we really did get snowed in. We didn't, but there was so much food, it lasted for 4 days, and I still have some leftover! Their service is incredible- as I am super picky- and they followed every instruction I gave. Onto the actual food. My favorite, was the Southern Porked Mac 'n Cheese- OMG! It has ruined any other mac-cheese for me. Seriously, so sweet, and creamy, and a perfect mixture of pulled pork, cheese, and pasta. I re-heated it 2 times, and it was just as good. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders, were tender, crispy, and full of flavor. The sauces were excellent- the blue cheese was excellent as was the Memphis Ranch. The BBQ Beans were good- different, but good. The Crazy Roo's Wings were excellent- especially that sauce! The only thing I didn't love were the Burnt Ends- which I normally do. They were ok but too salty for my taste. I would definitely not let it stop you from going there! This place is a GEM!! read more

Great experience. The place was jam packed and you'd never know it. Each employee was super attentive and helpful. The owner Steve was walking to everyone's table asking how the meal was and making sure everyone was comfortable. He has been in business over 20 years and the fact he still does this speaks volumes. This restaurant was recommended by phantom gourmet, so we decided to try it. I tried the "award winning" St. Louis style ribs and they were cooked to perfection. Meaty, tender, and juicy. It came with two sides, and a slice of warm homemade cornbread. I love the option of the self-serve BBQ sauce station with a nice variety of different flavors. Visited this establishment tonight after not dining in a restaurant since the pandemic hit. Last time I ate in the restaurant with table service was in February 2020! Tonight did not disappoint. Parking crew with Colin Hennessy assisted us with the utmost care! Thanks Colin. Ordered a combo of two sides, three meats and cornbread to share. Everything was delish and the sauces were a great compliment to an already extraordinary meal. Our waiter Jerry was patient with our selection making, knowledgeable and friendly. WOW. That's the first word that comes to mind. The BBQ was mouthwatering delicious. I got the mac and cheese with brisket, beans, and onion strings and the best part was the brisket. Crispy edges with the buttery soft inside. It was so good, that my husband decided to start taking bites of mine over his (he had brisket sandwich, still good, but thinner brisket slices). Drinks were delicious and they had so many original options! We're looking forward to coming back once further restrictions lift and we can enjoy the live music outside! read more

I bought some food from this restaurant a few months ago, and have been regularly ordering ever since. The food has been consistently good every time. The only problem is... this place has given me a sauce addiction. They have this one Memphis ranch sauce that's like a smoky barbecue homemade ranch mix that has changed my life. I have to shamefully admit, the other day me and my boyfriend ordered 5 sides of this sauce to get our fix. They gave us a big old pint cup of sauce with our order and now I would lay down my life for this restaurant. My favorite meals from here are the chicken tenders and ribs. 100/10 read more

It's a solid 3.5 place Meats: St. Louis ribs- Most anticipated but also underwhelming. Not smokey at all but it was tender. It wasn't juicy so I believe it was sitting out for awhile before it got to our table. The sauce did help make it more enjoyable. Beef Brisket- Good flavor. Not too fatty, not too lean and appreciate the black peppery when served. Add some Texas bbq sauce for some elevation. Pulled pork- Probabaly the best out of the bunch. Juicy, tender, porky haha with their North Carolina bbq sauce makes it Bbq chicken- Another surprise. It was tender juicy and flavorful. Eat it alone or add some sauce for elevation. Fried chicken- My least favorite. Extremely salty. The batter was thin which I appreciate but by the time it got to the table it was soggy. Burnt ends- This is their app but also wasn't impressed. It was the burn pieces but it wasn't burnt. Very saucey. Sides: Red beans & dirty rice- Undercook rice. Center was still hard and red beans was cook separately and top off. You can get food poison from eating undercook rice. Nobody finished it. Mash potato with gravy- Your standard red potato mash with gravy. Sweet potato fries- Very delicious. I believe they make it in-house. It's crispy and not soggy. Collard greens- I did not enjoy this but other members of the party did. I didnt like the tang too much. It was overpowering. Mac and cheese- Standard. Good and saucey. Not your box Mac n cheese. Corn bread- Delicious! If you're in the area give it a try but not a place I would hike for. We ordered the sugar cookie martini it was wayyyyyyy too strong. Couldn't even drink more than a couple of sips. The waitress was so sweet. I had a date take me here once, and I've been meaning to come back ever since. I just came back today and man is this place good. I will say there are people that will valet you to more parking spots as this place does get busy. The amount of food that you can get in a platter is great. Everything is made well prepared, tender, soft, and flavorful. The catfish was breaking apart so well and so was the brisket, and pull pork. The pecan pie had too much nuts and not enough filling otherwise everything else was great. I highly recommend for anybody that's interested in getting barbecue items. read more

Ok, I admit it, I can be a snob about it certain foods. Spend enough time in the Midwest and you get to have opinions about barbecue and sauces. The food here was great. The pulled pork, pulled chicken, and sausage were all delicious. The sides and cornbread were exactly what you might expect to find if you were at a neighborhood backyard barbecue which gave it that pleasant homey feel to eating barbecue. They also had a wide selection of barbecue sauces rather than focusing on one or two sauces. My biggest problem was pretty much all the sauces were varying sweet sauces. I was there at a normal dinner hour during the week and it wasn't too loud which was surprising and pleasant. Our server made sure to be helpful and gave good advice when we didn't know about the sauce bar. So to sum up, even though I wasn't a fan of their sauces I'd go back. More like a 4.75 if I could. Firefly's has been a Big Time Massachusetts BBQ joint for more or less 2 decades now. They use to have a few other locations and I remember going to the near the Natick Mall when I was a kid and they were my real FIRST experience of an actual BBQ Restaurant. And since then they have been winning awards like crazy. Been awhile since I've been here and it's a little skeptical because it's just such a big name, but I was wrong. I could talk about everything but their BBQ for a while but lets just get into it. Ribs: St. Louis, Little bit of a smoke ring, Smell of charcoal and BBQ like it should, 1" wide 4" long 1/2" thick standard snack rib size. Falls off the bone completely but only on the sections I bit into which is VERY hard to do so I can see why these ribs win awards. The only issue I have is that there is So much Smokey flavor in the rib that it's hard to tell any other flavor. Yes, the smokey flavor is what I crave so it's not a big deal at all, but I think something can be said when I couldn't taste any of the BBQ Sauces I put on the last couple ribs just to try, The smoke flavor was That Powerful. Brisket: Lot of rub, tender, good amount of bark, smell was great, awesome flavor, fat melted good, salty enough though and spices worked great with the meat, The fat and meat balanced each other very well. No real flavor to the fat though, some places I've been to it's almost like the fat itself is loaded with smokey flavor, but that's really difficult to do. Everything else was pretty spot on. Pulled chicken: Looked sloppy, cooked in a saucy brownish red color, very good though. Hardly any fat, had a flavor I couldn't put my finger on. Somewhere in between fruity - sweet - heat, leaning more to the sweet. The sauce would work very well on pork but it's doing extremely well on chicken. Cooked deep in the sauce but it worked well. Mac and Cheese: Spiral noodles, looks like a cheese sauce with a little bit of grit. White Cheddar note but I didn't want to say White Cheddar, definitely a mix. Made from real cheese, kind of a mousse texture, seasoned a little bit with black pepper and maybe a little bit of a red spice. Slight orange hue to the sauce. Pasta was fine, nothing wrong. Baked beans: Biggest beans I've ever seen in it, sprinkled with some kind of spice like paprika or something. Brisket cuts in it maybe. Great flavor, real subtle spice kick, almost a sweet pepper spice, not just heat, mostly savory, sweet comes in the aftertaste. Lingers on the tongue for a bit but it never burns so it's what I like to call a "Fun" spice. Sweet Potato Pudding: Mashed sweet potato loaded with sweet stuff, amazing. They said it has candied pecans on it but its little tiny bits barely taste-able, Coconut shaving are kind of mixed in there and it's almost enough flavor to sat it's coconut flavored sweet potato, Super sweet, Super yum. Cornbread: Nice glazed top, close to yellow cake consistency, cool and moist, kinda like that cakey cornbread though, like corn flavored cake, not gritty. 5 Sauces. Memphis: Typical BBQ but real thick and molasses like, sweet with a bit of smoky. Chocolate is used in the recipe and I guess I can kind of taste the consistency. Beelzbar: They say it's their Memphis with some chipotle heat, but the chipotle heat was super tasty and the sauce was a little bit lighter. So I enjoyed it much more. North Carolina: What I like, super vinegar based, salty vinegar, Good tangy pepper kick. Dixie Kiss: Sweet chili, red pepper kiss, looked like a teriyaki pudding to me. Surprisingly not as hot as I thought it might be, It was actually really good, probably my favorite. Almost like a dark cherry taste to it. VERY thick since it's a Basting sauce. Texas: Chipotle Tomato, Sweet Black Tar Molasses, Looks like a darker gold sauce, can really taste the tomato, almost like half tomato sauce, consistency reminds me a bit like Campbell soup. I had no problem with the sauces, they were all good, except they were all molasses like and I like Carolina vinegar based liquid style. But these were great! They would all work perfectly on chicken the best. read more
