The place had good ambiance and friendly service. The food can take a very long time, our order took 60 minutes from the time we ordered to the time the food made it to the table. Another annoying thing was that the server returned three separate times to tell us that they were out of something we'd ordered. When the food finally did arrive it was OK but not great. I will go back but I will be in no hurry to do so. read more

Brunch is delish! Drinks are yummy too...the Bloody Mary is fabulous. Dinner is great too, I just prefer the brunch because it's all you can eat, and I LOVE to eat! read more

Consistent and excellent food, service, friendly staff. Clean, well run. I love it here. The cornbread is to DIE FOR!

How could it be so bad? Way overpriced. Only wine was from a screw top. Undrinkable and the Guiness on tap was COLD! No salt on the homemade chips, and none at the bar. Never thought I would have a fried pickle I didn't like, but they managed to make them! They must use those gross sour slices that get thrown on every cheap burger plate(Subway pickles!). Should be battered, not that cornmeal crap. Paid for extra chicken on veggie salad as we were sharing/trying a variety of menu items. Didn't even find enuf tasteless, cold chicken to rate as one serving. $15!!!!!! Couldn't even find the veggies - a few kernels of canned corn and a handful of cherry tomatoes. Everything was gloppy. Sauces were bland to nasty. Red beans and rice had one little cube of sausage. Cucumber salad was rubbery(peel the cukes or at least score the peel). The sweet potato pudding was OK but ruined by twice as much overly sweet coconut topping as there was sweet potato. The "three sides" were a menu item but they just kinda slopped 'em on the plate. Gluey cornbread, no butter. Do they just bake the chicken and then drown it in high fructose cornsyrup mixed with barbeque sauce? The layout of the restaurant was wierd, the music in the bar was too loud, and the private party in the open dining area intruded on the bar area. I felt bad for the bartenders trying to serve customers in the bar and keep up with the bar oders from the private party. They were drinkin' up a storm and there wasn't even a waitress for the bar tables. Then when we went to leave(we didn't stay long) there were a half a dozen servers sitting in the entrance waiting are twiddling their thumbs. Did not get a doggie bag - wouldn't give it to my dog. Try Westside Barbecue in Worcester. More like a pizza joint, but better barbeque, Or Redbonz(Davis Sq.?). Or just go to Georgia. About 4:00 in the afternoon the smoke starts rising from the BBQ joints and the smell is heavenly! Then you get to eat real food! read more

This place is OK. I had some wings to start and they were tasty but nothing extraordinary. Then I got some ribs which, again, were fine. They make their corn bread buttery and Sweet the way I like it though my friend from North Carolina says it's like eating cake. I guess I like cake. Probably my favorite thing all night was the pecan sweet potatoes. They would make a fine dessert for any dinner. Staff exceptionally nice - my wings were delayed a bit and they did not charge us. When it's warm enough the patio is a great place to be. read more

My wife and I with our son went 11/11. Not only did we enjoy the service and food, we met the owner/chef and had such a great conversation. The candied bacon is so awesome. Also, the next time we go, we need to try the burnt ends. read more

I was a little skeptical about Massachusetts bbq. See I am from the south and I know good bbq when I taste it. I am proud to say that I was not disappointed. The staff was good and the manager was so friendly; he stopped by on several occasions to check on us and chat with our 5 year old. We had the pulled pork, sausage, and ribs. Everything was delicious. Let's not forget the sweet, warm cornbread. My family and I will definitely be back. read more

love it here! the cracklin bread- yummy. ribs- yummy. love the fact they have acondiment bar (get hot peppers every time) . Downside? hmmmm cant really think of any except I wish they were closer to me. Cool atmosphere too. read more

Best bbq hands down. I always stick up on my bbq sauce while I am there. We drive all the way from East Providence for this food.

Nice big portions of excellent food. The burnt ends were particularly tender and tasty.

This place is really good..then again, all that I ever get here is the Fried Chicken or the their really crazy good salads. I've never had the acutal BBQ here, though. I have had their Mac and Cheese once and it's pretty good. I love the atmoshphere here...it really doesn't fit in with the area it's in, which I love. But P.S it's always crowded and VERY messy, so don't take a first date here. read more

Absolutely the best barbeque I have ever had in my life...ever. And the best red and white sangria I have ever had...ever...literally! Its a reasonablly priced place, the decor is moderate, but nothing fancy. Great food! read more

Candied bacon, pork mac & cheese and and cucumber salad we're all amazing. I was too full to eat my ribs and chicken but they looked delicious. Service could have been faster and I don't know what royalty they were saving all the available booths for, but at least the food was good. read more

Recommend that to anyone who like a good bbq and they do catering as well. Maybe a give a try summer time for catering. Next time going to bring a whole family to a nice get together soon . read more

My husband and I LOVE Firefly's, so it wasn't even a question who was going to cater our wedding. Very affordable...we were right around $25-30 per person with the higher-end options and add-ons we chose. The only reason I'm taking away one star is because of the appetizers. They were put out, but sort of shoved into a corner at the party. I was expecting multiple trays that were spread out. Other than that, it was fantastic! read more

On cold winter nights I love coming here in my sweat pants for some draught beer and delicious Southern comfort food. The nachos are AMAZING, and the ribs are really good. It's also nice to have a low-key place in the nieghborhood where you can spend a lazy Sunday afternoon playing pool and hanging out. The atmosphere is great! read more

We love getting a taste of everything at the weekend buffet, but it gets so crowded, that the meal is impossible to enjoy. Their tight buffet area cannot handle the crowds. They could try moving the buffet or limiting the seating, maybe that would make for a more comfortable meal. Great choices of BBQ sauces! Best cucumber salad ever! read more

Great waitstaff and service. Stopped by after a function with a friend. Creative yet delicious menu choices, more than enough BBQ sauces to choose from and a great bar! Loved the cucumber salad! The portions were big, I had to bring more than half of my meal home. Will definitely be visiting again. read more

Yum i LOVE fireflys. I love all the appetizers. But, The only thing i ever order is the pulled pork sandwich with mac/cheese and whatever else i feel like that day. So tender delicious and yummy, you should try it! read more

Just went for brunch and it was awesome. $16 for all-you-can-eat and boy did we eat. Choices were breakfast foods like eggs, waffles, bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy and BBQ which had ribs, rib ends, BBQ chicken, fried chicken, wings, pulled pork and sides like Mac and cheese, sweet potato, cucumber salad, awesome hush puppies and more. Super tasty spread. read more

So we don't live in the area, but I must say hand down this place had the best fried chicken and mac and cheese I've ever tasted. We came to celebrate a birthday and I must say Their bbq sauces are AMAZING. Friendly staff, and we even got to meet the owner - Friendly guy and an amazing owner who really cares about his staff and customers. I wish they had location that's closer to the Boston area. However, I would highly recommend this place and I will be definitely coming back again soon. read more

Mediocre food, odd decor and absolutely horrible parking when it is busy. The only great thing is the live music and pool tables at the bar, Dante's. read more

Went back to the well for a 3rd visit because we were starving and we were in the immediate area. Once again, it was kind of lame. The food was too greasy and salty, even for barbecue. That said, I just moved to Marlborough and I'm grateful to Firefly's for being such a great landmark. That sign is so obnoxious. read more

Ok....so...I'm a Texas girl living in Florida. The thing I miss the most is TexMex food and good Barbecue. What a surprise to find some of the best barbecue I've had in years in New England!!! My fiancé and I stumbled upon Firefly's while visiting the area and I admit, I was skeptical at first....but from our warm greeting at the front door, the graciousness of our server Helen...to the fact that the owner, Steve, stopped by to say hello....the only thing better was the food!!!! Wow. What a treat! This place will become a favorite stop while in the area. If you find yourself in the Marlborough area...stop in and have some amazing bbq at Firefly's...you will NOT be disappointed!!!! read more

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. The owner Steve Uliss is an awesome guy who has done a splendid job with his business. I recommend their baby back ribs, fried chicken, pizzas, and Crazy Roo Wings. read more

Great food and service, the live music in the lounge was an added bonus. Thanks for a great experience.

Excellent food and service! One of the best BBQ restaurants out there by far! Many options on the menu - something for everyone. :)

Nothing special - it's okay. I'm glad they finally cleaned up the place it was getting a little gross a few years back and we quit going. We finally went in after a two year hiatus. The buffet rocks on Sunday, a great chance to try everything. read more

This place is average at best. The baby back ribs was a little dry and didn't had much meat on there. I don't think I will go there often

Awesome Sunday Brunch. I visit friends in the area and this is a must. I came on a non-Sunday once and the regular menu was even better. I'm such a fat bastard. read more

Menu says lean brisket. Ours was very fatty. No smoke flavor. Roasted corn was under done. Not a high quality BBQ place.

This place used to be top notch years ago, but has been on a steady decline. They'll always be able to deliver you tasty ribs and tasty pulled pork because this place has hit the nail on the head for their sauces. However, outside of that I can't say you'll be satisfied, especially with the price tag that comes along with your meal. Their sunday brunch might be the best deal in town, especially if you can bring an appetite on a Sunday morning. However, don't expect to visit this place and expect a decent evening crowd. Their back room is filled with outdated televisions if you were hoping to watch a game. Their selection of beer is not impressive by any means, especially since you're paying an arm and a leg for it. And I haven't really seen any decent concert nights planned here for quite sometime. read more

Our waitresses, Bianca & Andrea, were AWESOME we had a party of 14 and they was sooo helpful all night; drinks were never empty, made separate checks, always smiling, helped with food allergies, kept us happy all night. We had a birthday boy so the owner, Steve, came over and he was excellent too!! read more

Fireflys catered a wedding I went to recently. The pulled pork and cornbread.....to die for. Worth the ride people!

We ordered catering for about 80 people for my rehearsal dinner and I was surprised by how good it was! The mac and cheese was delicious and creamy, the ribs were falling off the bone, the pulled pork was so good and the corn bread was amazing. I did not have the chicken that was there but the BBQ sauce was delicious as well. Collard greens were not good but I have never liked them before, so I can't say if it was because I do not like collards or because they were actually bad. The delivery was also perfectly on time and they provided utensils. read more

Great local BBQ! I love the big menu and fun condiment bar. The ribs perfect. Collard greens were cooked perfectly. Kid friendly a plus.

Since it's winter I don't do much bbqing on the grill so I've been checking out some places on the weekend when I can. Tried Firefly's today. I got the 3 meat combo. 3 ribs, brisket and pulled pork. For sides mac& cheese collard greens and cornbread. The sides were good would definitely have again. The brisket and pulled pork were very good and tender. The ribs were good I wish I had put more sauce on it. they came together instead of cut. Also I've been to places where the ribs were also bigger and they give you 4. There's are the size of baby backs. But IF I'm I the the area again I would stop by. Price wise it wasn't to bad. read more

Everything so good especially bacon appetizer, fried chicken, jerk chicken, ribs. The service is very good always checking to see what else you might need. Tropical drinks very good too. Tried the coconut cream pie and recommend it. Hoping to see the live bands in the future. read more
