Best Barbecue in the Northeast for sure. No need for any sauces because Barbecue done with a proper dry rub provides all the great flavor and bark. Sauces are provided for added heat for personal satisfaction. Fireflys has improved over the years and especially the menu items and choices. If I wanted to be real picky about a complaint it would be they dont offer a skewer of jumbo shrimp thats barbecued as well for a kind of surf and turf dish. All their meats and sides are excellent including their pizzas and burgers. mmmmm mmmmmm good , see you all soon at Fireflys read more

Visiting from out of town for the weekend. Excellent dining experience!! Food, atmosphere and service...all top notch. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting this area. read more

Great food and staff. The Sunday buffet is amazing! Go early to beat the crowd on the weekends. The Memphis bbq sauce is awesome and I would put it on everything if I could! Their homemade chips are the best I have ever eaten. You get fireball candy with your bill and my kids think that it is just the best! read more

We've become regulars here, although mostly for take-out since we have two little ones and live so close. The good: Almost everything, the food is very good. We haven't tried anything we do not like yet and we've covered a lot of the menu. The BBQ is great, as you'd expect, with excellent smoky flavor to most of their dishes and some really, really good sauces. They also have an out-of-this-world AYCE buffet on Sundays that is just awesome. A great selection of BBQ meats and sides, as well as breakfast items. The bad: Not much, although we have noticed a few inconsistencies in their food when taking it to go. There have been a couple times that items are missing ingredients as pointed out in the menu or made differently than the time before it. There prices are a little on the high side, but I've never minded paying a premium price if I know the food will be good. Overall a good spot, and definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. read more

*: Best barbeque I've found in Eastern Mass. Yes, I pehaps have had some better BBQ in my life, but in hunting around to find good smoked meat in Mass this is the best I've found. Their sauces have a nice variety and the food is always consistently good. I particularly respect their brisket, sausage, fried chicken, cucumber salad, beans and dirty rice, and some of their weekly specials. And, as is a requirement for a 5-start BBQ review, their cornbread is excellent. The service is also friendly and fast. I highly recommend reservations if you're going around dinner time particularly on weekends, and know ahead that parking is limited especially when the patio is open in the summer. There is a valet when they're busy, but given that I'm not a fan of valet parking it can be a challenge to find a spot. read more

Hey guys! Brisket IS NOT tiny pieces of a fatty substance slathered in an overwhelmingly thick and sweet sauce that hides any flavor of meat! Calling this restaurant a true BBQ place is like calling Micky D's a high end steakhouse! I wouldn't go out of my way for this place. Neither should YOU! read more

First time there. Food was great. The ribs were finger licking good. This was better than Georgia's BBQ. I post this on Facebook. I have to come back. Most owners hide in the back, This owner walks around to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. You can't go wrong with this place. So good. read more

Didn't know what to expect... Prepared to be underwhelmed. Heard a lot, knew about the awards, realized the longevity of the establishment... Very good!!! Some of the best wings I've ever had. Crispy, no sog at all, just the right amount of charcoal flavor, meaty, and a nice portion! Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, the classics all 4/5! The fried chicken was INCREDIBLE. I was glad to see effort and care put into one of my favorite foods, when by the book, straight up barbeque of course dominates the menu. The SIDE mac and cheese was average. No breadcrumbs, tasted artificial, and even worse the next day. The GOURMET mac that can double as a meal, did have breadcrumbs, and was better, but still unimpressive. Home made sauces were watery, too similar with one another, and just not broad/versatile enough on the flavor spectrum. They do have a cupboard of sauces in the main dining area from across the world! I did not try any of them but plan to soon. :) Certainly some solid BBQ... Humbly speaking, I would implore management to ramp up the quality of the sides to REALLY separate itself from the pack. Good stuff though. read more

Firefly's BBQ has always been a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy live music and great cocktails, but the authentic barbecue is what keeps us coming back when the hankering for juicy ribs hits me. The brisket is the best I've ever had and the fried chicken is just right. This is the place to go for the real deal BBQ consistently- every time. We also enjoyed the catering, to-go ordering and Sunday brunch - but avoid the lines and come during the week for a quieter and slower experience. I think the outdoor patio is opening in mid-May (website has a calendar of events) - another excuse to go and hang out after work. read more

I JUST LOVE FIREFLIES SO FREAKING MUCH! They have such great food that is outstandingly delicious! You may have to wait a little bit of time but it's TOTALLY WORTH IT! The restaurant staff are also very nice too! It's also quite the restaurant too because they have bands that come and play too! (Although me personally, I've never seen any of the bands perform there). In addition, they have a delicious sauce bar! All kinds of sauces especially BBQ sauce! read more

Firefly's BBQ is the BEST BBQ I have ever had. We stumbled upon this gem about 6 years ago and have been coming back ever since! It is definitely worth the hour and a half drive. Food is always top notch, we usually order the ribs, which fall right off the bone and are full of taste. The cucumber salad is also a favorite! As for drinks, there is a wide array of beers and mixed drinks. read more

This is my favorite place to go in Marlborough! They have multiple delicious options. My boyfriend and I usually order the combo for two people which it's affordable and enough for two people to enjoy. They also have this Sunday Brunch that omg you should definitely go !! Their desserts are also one of my favorites haah, and they have live music on the weekends. Every time I go there or order food to pick up the service has been amazing, no complains on that part. The place is always clean and you can always enjoy it. But if you really really want to eat a good barbecue meal this is your go to in Marlborough!! read more

Ate here once pre-covid. It was a Sunday buffet all you can eat brunch. Everything we ate from eggs, biscuits, to perfectly BBQed meat was superb. Wait staff were the best and our waitress was friendly and excellent. Post-covid, I ordered delivery at least twice. The service and food were awesome. I believe they require reservations, or social distancing when picking up take out now. Either way I will be back. read more

I'm so glad we ordered Firefly's for Christmas Eve. It was awesome and so easy. Firefly's has always been a great spot for BBQ but they went over and above for Christmas Eve dinner. We hope you all have a merry Christmas and can't wait to get take out again. Highly recommend Firefly's these days as they take covid precautions very seriously and make it so easy for take out. read more

Made reservations and was promptly seated. Since we were first timers, the staff allowed us to take our time with the menus. Decided on the 1/3rd rack, because i noticed the size of the portions as they were delivered to nearby diners. My dining companions enjoyed their ribs as well as the brisket and fried chicken. We all thoroughly enjoyed the corn bread!! However, I did not enjoy my collard greens. Guess I'm not a fan of "Southern" style.. I make my greens aldente in a bit of bacon grease. Don't like the vinegar addition. read more

This place has definitely become the new family favorite when it has come to take out covid meals. Had our first visit to Firefly's yesterday, big menu/lots of options even for those of us that don't eat beef/pork. Kids loved their kids meals (especially the cookie dessert). I had the yard bird which was very tasty and husband had the 3 meat combo. Called in the order and pick up was very organized and easy. Everything in the order was correct and while it wasn't piping hot it was better than some we've had. We were able to eat it right at the local park less than 3 minutes away. Will definitely be back again :) read more

Another great experience at Fireflys. Ordering for takeout was easy on the app, and pickup was seamless and safe. Steve, the owner was visible and keeping an eye on it all. When we got the food home it was warm and fresh. Fireflys is always a family favorite. read more

Spoke with the owner today. This bad experience seems to be a one off. He is clearly committed to customer service and concerned about this unfortunate situation. And the food is good. I went to a business meeting yesterday. My co worker had called a week ago to make reservations for 16 peeps. So after the meeting I drive there to find my coworkers all standing outside in the cold. They said they had no reservations and were not sure if they could serve us. I noticed the place was clearly half empty on this Wedsday night and had no clue what the problem could be. We went back inside and the bearded guy in the purple shirt confronted us asserting that there is no reservation in the computer and there is nothing he can do. My coworker took out his phone and showed the guy the date, time and length of the call from the week prior. The guy said it's not his problem. Another coworker asked why he didn't want to take our money since the place was half empty. The guy got aggressive but finally said he would see if they could seat us. After about 2 minutes to toss a few menus and napkins at some tables we were seated. The food was fine, and the waiter was polite. I just can't get past this guy trying to get us to pound sand. No apology, no trying to make it right. Just sarcasm and hostility. He walked by after we placed our order and my boss confronted him and still he was a jerk. Finally he gave us a discount, but to be fair we didn't want a discount. I mean, our 76billion dollar company was paying for the meal anyhow. We just wanted normal respectful customer service. This guy throwing the owners profits at us to get us to go away isn't good customer service. A smile, taking us to a table and taking our order without the hostility is all we wanted. This is mind boggling to me. The food was fine. I don't think I have ever written a negative review before, but this was so deliberate and malicious I can't keep quiet. read more

Lots of different sauces available. From memphis to NC to SC to texas etc. My favorites were the texas and one of the carolinas that had mustard in it. The four of us (hungry 21 year old guys) were feeling ambitious so we got the picnic for 6. We didn't finish it. The sides were great, we had mac and cheese, corn bread, and more cornbread. The brisket was perfect. I didn't like the chicken but i never do. The ribs came out a little dry and too salty for me. I've bought better ribs. My friends have smoked better ribs and I've made better ribs. With all the hype, I was a little disappointed. I can only give firefly's 3 stars. read more

The Sunday brunch here is delicious, but priced such that you'll need to eat an unhealthy portion to get a great value. Lots of ribs, fried chicken, fried scallops, beef stew, mac and cheese, rice and beans, as well as traditional breakfast offerings such as eggs, french toast, muffins, etc. I was well satisfied after a single plate that included 3 or 4 of the above, but felt that since my bill was going to come to $50 (two of us), I had better force another serving down. Not the healthiest food either, so this will definitely be a "once every few months" type of feast. As for the dinner menu, it's standard BBQ fare. I'd rank this first out of the competitors I'm familiar with (Tennessee in Framingham, Texas in Marlborough), but it's also most expensive of the three. Service has always been pretty good, and the wait seems manageable even when the parking spaces are hard to come by. read more

Very inconsistent. Sometimes the food is great, sometimes it's really weak. There's not alot of BBQ places around so I end up goign here alot anyways though. The problem is I never know what I'm gonna get when I order. Sometimes I get the fried chicken and it's perfectly crispy and juicy and sometimes it's have soggy breading a dry chicken. Sometimes the mac and cheese will be gooey with a nice crust, sometimes it's be watery and unpleasant. Sometimes the nachos will be loaded with stuff with cheese on every chip, sometimes it's badly put together with hardly any cheese at all. Sometimes the ribs are big and juicy, sometimes they're tiny and overcooked. I have rarely had anything there that was amazing or bad every time. There are just two exceptions. Their pizza is great with the royale with cheese pizza being one of the better cheeseburger pizzas I've had. The actual burgers though are always underwhelming and one time I ordered i medium rare and got it burnt to a crisp. I sent it back and the next one was better (though not great) but now they had burned the bacon to a crisp. I'm just not gonna get burgers there anymore I guess. When the food is good, it's a very good place and the service is quite nice as well. It's just overall I wish it was consistent which is one of the keys to a truly great restaurant. read more

Definitely give this place 5 stars. The food is fantastic and the service is great! Worth the hour + drive any day. Only regret is that I don't love closer! read more

First timer here :) I wish the place was open for lunch, but once my partner and I went inside, we had a wonderful experience. We were greeted by a couple of friendly hosts and brought to our table. Our server, Hannah, was super sweet and made some great suggestions, like trying the side of Mac n cheese. The food was delicious- I got the jerk chicken with Mac n cheese and potato salad. Everything was very tasty and I'm glad I tried something different. My partner got the pulled pork sandwich with fries which was great and he enjoyed that he could pick the sauce that came on it. Overall, the cooks did a wonderful job! We also had the chicken tender appetizer and enjoyed trying all the different bbq sauces they had. Definitely a good time overall. The place is very quaint with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere :) read more

I am a Texas transplant living in Hudson and I have found my place!!! I have been looking endlessly since I arrived in July for a place that tastes and feels like home, I have finally found it! (They actually have sweet tea!!!!!!!!) The BBQ is amazing, it ranks right up there with some of the best of not better than what I have had in the south. Try the burnt ends, they were delicious. The owner, Steve, is a great guy! He made his way around the dining room multiple times while we were there ensuring every customer was enjoying their meal. He really knows what he's doing and brought all the right stuff back from his years in Memphis. Save room for dessert, everything is made from scratch and will have your taste buds begging for another trip real soon. read more

Great cuts of meat not oversmoked. Meaty St. Louis ribs, lean and tender brisket, pulled pork so juicy-not fatty- that it needed no sauce. Unique bbq sauces again not loaded with liquid smoke. Sweet vinegar greens - my favorite-and crunchy green beans. Pan cut moist flavorful cornbread. If all this doesn't sound great for $22 then stay away. More for me when I go back. And all members of the staff were genuinely warm and gracious. I had a fine meal. Thank you. read more

Just got to sit on their new outdoor patio/lounge area. It felt like being at a fun resort, with outdoor bar, big comfy sofas, and even two (gas) fireplaces.
