I lived in Atlanta for 2 years and have spent a lot of time in the Carolinas. This is the best BBQ I've had in New England so far. The brisket is top notch and the sauces are fire. read more

My husband calls Firefly's the best BBQ in the north! The portions are huge and delicious. Classic BBQ meals, like ribs, pulled pork, fried chicken, etc. Pre-covid there was a BBQ bar, where you could choose from a variety of sauces and toppings. Really yummy desserts too, like chocolate beignets. read more

Delicious BBQ and great drink selection. Have been to many "famous" BBQ places in the northeast and I rank this one pretty high on my list. Our large order came out fast and hot-with no mistakes!! Meats were tender and perfectly smoked and sauced. Cornbread and cuke salad were the best I've ever had. We went on a Saturday night and it was hoppin' with a music event at Dante's (adjacent venue for live music)- highly suggest you make a reservation on Fri/Sat nights. Even if it's busy, it's worth the wait! read more

The outside is so amazing! Our server was Shaw and he couldn't have nicer or more accommodating. Can't wait for the outside bar to open! Got some cucumber lemonade drink that was sooo good read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit. The food and atmosphere are great. That being said, my last visit went above and beyond my expectations because of the wonderful service we received from Gerry. He went above and beyond in every way possible! Our neighbor recommended Firefly's so we went with friends the other night. The food and service was delicious! Our friendly server Serenity was on it from the moment we sat down. She was a pro! She had great recommendations and answered all our questions. Keep in mind we had five kids with us so god bless her. Our starters included the nachos and the BEST piece of bacon I have ever had. Yes, bacon was an appetizer. It was so thick, it looked like a piece of rib. It was served with a delicious glaze and fried egg. Enough to share for the whole table. The nachos were big, chips fresh, and no complaints there either. Serenity suggested as first goers to order the combo so to try two of the meats. I went for the St. Louis ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were fall off the bone and no extra sauce even needed but I do rec the memphis sauce (so good). I can't give you my honest opinion on the pulled pork because I was so full I didn't eat much of it. The sides were so good too. Long list to choose from - homemade chips, mac n cheese, collard greens, sweet potato, and more. Added bonuses: a pickle bar and a bbq sauce station that you could also help yourself to for to go purposes. The cocktails were yummy too. Atmosphere is casual, good size place. Manager (I believe) was around asking everyone how their meals were. That is always appreciated. Thank you Firefly's! A fun and delicious night out. Ask for Serenity as your server when you go and you won't be disappointed! read more

Good brisket sandwich.Big place multiple dinning Areas with a big outside eating space and hangout with bar. Beer was not cold from tap. Brisket sandwich was good. . With fries and slaw. Combo plate not so good. Couple pork ribs 2 fried chix pieces and small 1/4 chix. Sides of potato salad - salad was warm. Collards ok not great. Slaw no flavor - fries not good... it's a Bbq place fries should be hot and smacking salt Sides can be much better and 1/4 Chicken is too small. Didn't get beef ribs but pork ribs full size- were not good. read more

I got delivery from Uber Eats, and wow! Incredible meal. Absolutely delicious. From the brisket to the BBQ sauce to the sweet potatoes, beans and corn bread.... I'm in culinary heaven. Thanks for a great meal. read more

Their outdoor seating is excellent. I felt more comfortable dining there than I did shopping at the local BJ's a few days earlier. As always, the food was fantastic and service was excellent. Hands down, Firefly's BBQ is, by far, one of my favorite local restaurants. Great for work dinners, girls lunch, and date night. If you haven't tried the candy lacquered bacon, do yourself a favor and get you some! You will not be disappointed. read more

We ate there tonight at the outside patio. Great spot. Our waiter Gerald was fantastic. Also the food was excellent.

We are regulars at this restaurant. Food is fantastic, our favorites are the Brisket, the St Louis style ribs, and Fried Chicken. Lots of sides to choose from. My favorites are the Mac and cheese, BBQ Beans, Collard Greens and Sweet potato pecan pudding. The service is ALWAYS friendly, the place is lively and prices are reasonable. I have traveled all over the US, to all 50 states, and I've had BBQ in the Carolinas, Kansas City, Tennessee and, of course, Texas. I honestly think Firefly's can give most of the well known BBQ restaurants a run for their money! In my opinion, this is the best BBQ restaurant in New England! And on Sunday mornings they have an amazing Sunday brunch that I often recommend to friends and clients. Try it - you'll definitely be glad you did. read more

Phenomenal BBQ and oh yeah - the fried chicken is delicious too. The owner is a real cool guy - swing through. Huge whiskey and beer menu.

We booked Firefly's catering for our wedding in 2021. After trying them about 7 months ago, we were sure we wanted them to feed our friends and family. The burnt ends, pulled chicken, and sweet potato pecan pudding were the standout dishes for us. We wanted to come a second time just for a regular meal and decided since we have more free time during quarantine we'd give it a shot. We reserved an outside spot with no problem. They were very safe and clean- took our temperature as we walked in, all of the staff wore masks and we felt very safe eating here. Many staff members regularly checked in with us and made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend! read more

Firefly's is THE place to go! I have been telling people I know about the food and drinks for a long time. There is literally not one bad thing on the menu, and the cocktails are excellent. However, during the pandemic, I have been more than pleasantly surprised by Firefly's. They have excellent protocols with mask wearing, temperature taking, and sanitizer and I felt completely safe going there. Our waitress, Vicki, was exceptional and went above and beyond to make us feel both safe and happy. We plan on coming here whenever we can, and just want to say thank you for helping give us a nice place to keep our sanity during this time. read more

One of my favorite places growing up. Ive only eaten there once or twice mostly done take out but every time delicious. Love their ribs and all their sides from the baked beans to the mac and cheese. Expertly made for the middle of Massachusetts. And the prices are very reasonable. The service is great, never had an issue both on the phone and in person. Definitely earned it score. read more

This was my second time visiting Fireflys and I was instantly reminded why I love this place so much. As you can see from the other reviews, the food is absolutely out of this world amazing. I got the fried chicken platter with gravy and the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My boyfriend and my mom both got two meat combos that were great as well. All of the sides are amazing, making it hard to pick just a few lol. But what makes this place stand out amongst other restaurants in the area with great food, is the service. Everyone who works here is so incredibly friendly, helpful and they truly made us feel like we were home every time we've visited. Big shoutouts to our waitress, Vikki! You made our experience here so great! I Will never stop raving about this place! Can't wait until our next visit. read more

Amazing food, drinks and service. We were driving to Connecticut from the White Mountains and were craving BBQ with a cool ambiance. We did not have to wait and were quickly seated on the outdoor patio that had live entertainment. The owner Steve came out to the patio and chatted with us. We will be back when we are visiting our East Coast family. read more

Woah! Best Southern BBQ I've had in New England! This place is amazing! The ribs are just mouth watering. I had the chicken and waffles which were just delicious. The waffle was so light and airy! The fried chicken was delicious with white gravy. Pete was our waiter and he was fast and perfect. The most favorite part of this restaurant is other people pitching in! You could not tell that it's a Saturday night and this restaurant is packed! The food came out quick and delicious. Everyone who works there was pitching in helping other people. That's what you really need for a busy restaurant! We will be back! Next time bringing the kids! They'll love all the different BBQ sauces! And who doesn't love a nice Fire ball at the end of your meal! Screw the mints! Give me the fire balls!!!! read more

Gerry was an awesome server! He took care of my gluten allergy and noticed that my father in law was a veteran and thanked him for his service. the food was good but Gerry made the experience great! read more

Very good bbq. Our waiter was attentive and funny. His southern accent helped with the feel of authenticity (he was not faking it) :-) The pros: The kids meals were huge. The chicken tenders were very crunchy and had a wonderful batter. The mac and cheese was homemade and creamy. The sweet potato fries were perfect. We enjoyed the ribs with just the right amount of smoke and sauce. Cornbread not too sweet. The condiment and sauce bar was nice touch. Cons: the pulled chicken comes pre sauced. I did not find any pieces of chicken, it was pretty much chicken mush in sauce. Unappealing texture. Also they do have a variety of sauces but they do not carry a Carolina mustard sauce which was disappointing for me. The price was average for barbecue places. We would return but definitely not for the pulled chicken. read more

Went on a Friday night with my husband. It was busy but we were seated quickly. I was there on a mission to check out the food because I had booked them for an upcoming surprise party for my husband's birthday. The food was fantastic! I had a hard time trying to decide which sides I should choose for the party because they were all great. The food was so good that even though I was full I finished my plate! Steve stopped by our table and we got talking about our home town of Ashland with him. He does so much for the town and schools and is an all-around pleasant and welcoming guy. I'm very happy I decided to go with Firefly's for my party tomorrow night and I'm looking forward to having that delicious food again! read more

Wow the food is amazing but the service is phenomenal. Dania was a great waitress. She checked on us multiple times and got us everything we asked for in a very timely manner. The manager came over twice to ask us how our food was as well. I was highly impressed. We all got different combo platter and everting was delicious. There is a BBQ sauce and hot sauce bar as well as a condiment station with tons of fun pickled toppings! read more

We come here basically because we live up the street . The service is always good as it was the other night . The food is pricey but usually good . The one thing I noticed was the portions were much smaller than the last time we went . The onion straw appetizer only filled a third of the plate . We got the two meat combo dinner each . There was two very small pieces of chicken and two little ribs . Also only a hand full of green beans and a small bowl of potatoes . I was shocked how little food there was on my plate . It was the first time I've ever walked out of there still hungry . I get the inflation thing but wow ! read more

Best BBQ in the area and great atmosphere. Also, great variety of drinks/beers. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

OMG The Brisket is incredible, my wife had it also, gluten Free. Nice, fast service, corn bread and all sides were perfectly cooked.

Awe BBQ!! These people know their barbecue and the prices are great! Recommend 7/10. The staff is polite and attendant

This is the first(but definitely not the last) visit we have made to this excellent BBQ - the ribs were done perfectly - fall off the bone - This is my new Birthday dinner place because the food was TOP NOTCH - so good and our server, Gerry, was fantastic - even gave us a free dessert! We don't live in the area, but love to find an excuse to have barbeque here. The place is casual and good for children. I really love the cucumber salad they serve when you are seated. If you have a group or a really hearty appetite the pulled pork nachos is great - and it can be even better if you add a little BBQ sauce. They have broadened the menu to have more than just barbeque with Jamaica Jerk chicken, even pizza and other things. But i love the pulled pork, either as a plate or a combo. The cornbread is excellent, and so are the baked beans. One touch that is nice the variety of sauces available. You can get some samples from the condiments table before you order so you'll know what you are going to get. read more

we were in town moving our son to a prep school and had a terrific dinner at firefly's. Our waiter, Gerry, was fantastic and made excellent recommendations. the wings were quite tasty and meaty! There were many different sauces to choose from as well. Great place to go for some tasty BBQ! read more

Best BBQ in the area! Place was really busy on Saturday evening, good thing we had a reservation. Service was fast and friendly. Had the Texas BBQ sampler. Ribs were fall off the bone delicious! Firefly's is our favorite BBQ. We finally we're able to get back there (9/16/2020, it's been about a year. We've been to several eating establishments during this pandemic and none of them measure up to Firefly's efforts to make patrons feel safe. They go above and beyond with taking temps and recording name and phone number for contact tracing. Oh ya, the food is amazing too. read more

Great place. We were seated right away, our server James H showed up to explain the menu, food, condiment bar and take or drink order, I order a pina colada that was so tasty, perfect mix of ingredients, our food showed up so fast I was blown away, it was hot, fresh, plentiful and accurate, we both ordered the combo plate as suggested by James, one with St. Lois ribs/fried chicken and the other with brisket/pulled pork, the food wad amazing! Best BBQ in the area! Oh and the condiment bar has all their homemade signature BBQ sauces ranging from sweet and savory to firehouse hot. Overall one of the best restaurant experiences I've had, seriously not ONE negative comment at all! Highly recommend. read more
