Firefly's BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

Great food as always and the backyard with music is awesome. Can't beat the atmosphere or the bands themselves. Crazy Roos wings and fried chicken are tremendous and we loved the burnt ends. read more

Yum! They have the big beef ribs I love. The BBQ sauces are varied and they all taste good. It is difficult now that I'm older and cannot walk to get up the ramp on the parking lot so we do take out. So glad to have good BBQ close to home. read more

After all the hype, got takeout for first time and was disappointed. Chicken tasted no better than frozen TV dinners with some hot sauce slathered on. Not trying to be nasty here but the corn bread was brick-like, tasteless and sat hard in the gut. I love corn bread and this was the pits and it stayed there. Onion strips were okay. Clearly, they're doing something right as they've been in business since time began but it got lost on me. sorry. read more

Firefly's was way more than we could have expedited. It was so clean and airfresh( followed covid guidelines to the T)Staff was super friendly! The food was sooooo good, drinks were as well, and we walked out with plenty of left overs due to their really good portions. Highly recommend! read more

Bisan was our server and was a delight! There was great food and great vibes. The outdoor patio was very nice and they were able to move our table inside when there was possibility of rain. Five stars. read more

We ABSOLUTELY Love dining at Fireflys Bodacious Barbecue. The staff are always pleasant and Steve the owner always makes it a point to see how we are doing. I was surprised he remembered my husband and I as we went there for dinner post COVID. This is definitely a dish worth driving too. We cannot wait to go back. read more

Firefly's BBQ - 3 meat combo with all the fixings!! - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

Amazing food and drinks. Outdoor patio is amazing and they are doing Everything they can to make you feel safe and comfortable during your dining experience. BBQ is top 5 all time on my list. Cornbread is amazing as well! read more

The ribs are dry and hard to get off bone. Wouldn't go there again! The only good thing is the pickles..

Awesome BBQ Our favorite place to eat. Staff was great and food was fresh and came out fast.

The portions are generous and the food is good, but unfortunately our server was quite forgetful and we were asked often to repeat orders but were still served the wrong sides. They meant well. Writing orders down might be a good idea. But why were there two dogs without service vests (on leashes) hanging out indoors, inside the restaurant? We had to move to another table due to serious allergies. One dog was being petted by the receptionist and being walked about casually, clearly not a trained service dog at work. I won't be back. read more

This place is out of the way for myself and my boyfriend , i'm from the south shore or mass and he's from RI, but one of his buddies just graduated UMASS and this was middle ground for the 11 of us that attended dinner last night. Parking. a little tight in my opinion. it's a one way in, same way out kinda deal. so there was a lot of three point turns, backing up, etc. which was more annoying than anything. they do offer valet but we were lucky and someone was leaving right after we did our three point turn to get back around. Food. we ordered the picnic for 10-12. it was $190 for 3 1/2 racks of Ribs, 2 pints Pulled Pork, 2 pints Beef Brisket, 1 pint Pulled Chicken, 2 BBQ Chickens, 5 pints of Sensational Sides, and 10 Rolls and cornbread. For our sides we got, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, collard greens, coleslaw, and sweet potato pecan pudding. sauces. they have a section dedicated to their sauces and condiments. you can try whatever sauce you'd like. if you're daring enough, you can sign a waiver and try their hottest sauce. i tried the texas sauce and it was a little too spicy for me (my spice tolerance is nonexistent) in my opinion, given the amount of people, a pint of each side was not enough for everyone to try everything. we ended up ordering more mac and cheese and more mashed potatoes just so everyone could get some. the ribs were okay to me, i'm not a huge fan of ribs in general so my opinion shouldn't really matter. i did enjoy the chicken though, i had 2 pieces. the beef brisket though.... so good. probably one of my favorites. so soft and it just breaks so easily. absolutely delicious. i also enjoyed the mac and cheese, just wish they gave more. i made a pulled pork/chicken sandwich with some pickles which i definitely enjoyed. once in a while i'm a huge fan of pulled pork sandwich, yesterday was one of them. i didn't eat the collard greens or coleslaw so i can't comment on those but i did have the sweet potato pecan pudding and i liked it. it was very different. every bite had a little crunch to it from the pecans. total price for everything with tip included ended up being $23 per person. which in my opinion, isn't bad at all. we all left absolutely stuffed. 2-3 guys at our table finished off everything so we wouldn't have to waste food, so props to them. all in all, while i'm not sure if i would travel this far to fireflys, i am glad that i tried it since the Quincy location closed down. my boyfriend had a nice reunion with his friends and everyone seemed to enjoy the food! read more

Firefly's is our absolute favorite BBQ place! This is our first time coming during the COVID pandemic though. They did an amazing job. They are offering curb side pickup, takeout, or indoor dining. We ate inside and everything was very clean and well spaced out. The owner makes regular rounds around the restaurant to ensure all customers are happy. Our food was delicious as usual. read more

Amazing food and the bbq station is awesome! I'm a vegetarian but love what they have even if I can't have the amazing ribs I got there a number of years ago. They still have food for vegetarians. read more

Ok, so for a long time I avoided going here. When you or actually I hear the words Barbecue, I back off thinking they serve pork. Ok ok, that's called stereotyping. Anyway, it was the knowledge of them having Chicken and Waffles that had me happily walk in and oh my God, I am sooooo glad I did. They have THE BEST chicken and waffles I have ever had! I did not have room for my sides, but they will make a perfect meal tomorrow. I will be back and I have my eyes on the beef brisket. As to the service. We absolutely loved our waitress Korie. She is an excellent lady and we hope she is there next time. read more

We have been to this restaurant several times this year for the stellar food. There was a visit last month which left us hesitant at first to return for a bit, but the management including Robert, Kiki and Bianca went above and beyond to listen to our concerns, including to invite us back for a chance to prove they appreciate their customers. We look forward to our next chance to eat with them again. read more

What happened to this place? First off the bartender was the laziest person I've ever met. She had 10 patrons and my drink was often empty. I had to flag her down. What's even worse is the owner standing at the bar on his phone not paying attention to his restaurant. The food came out room temperature. Not going back! Steve get some bartenders who want to work! read more

Had a wonderful lunch at that fire flies today with my wife and daughter. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. We have been here several times before but never had a chance to meet the owner, Steve. He was a wonderful man and it was a pleasure to meet him. Our waitress Jessica was sweet and sassy and we enjoyed her service. Food as always, was out of this world and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Jessica even convinced us to try the beignets which were fabulous! We will definitely go back as everything was perfect and we were totally happy!! read more

I was out to dinner last night and as usual the meal was fantastic. I myself had the 3 meat combo with the ST Louis Ribs, beef brisket and smoked sausage. The Ribs has a flavor and I especially like how the meat pull from the bone. The smoked sausage has a nice bite to it. The brisket is to me the best item that Is in the menu. Steve and his staff have done an outstanding job during these tough times. They have their routine down to a science. I look forward to when they can open the dining room again. Keep up the good work. read more

Ever since our old BBQ place got taken over by a new owner and "new and improved" from pretty good to awful, we've been looking for new place. Well, we found one. Firefly BBQ is a friendly place (you're a sweetie, Amanda!) and the food is great. My wife, who likes beef ribs rather than pork ribs, said hers were the best she ever had. My St. Louis ribs were full of flavor. And the sauces! There are at least (as I remember) five kinds of sauces, starting with a molasses based one, then adding other spices and hotness. You can, as I did, go over to the sauces bar (next to the free condiments bar) and bring back several kinds to try out. (My favorite was the Beelzebar sauce.) The baked beans were great, as were the sweet potato fries. Firefly has lots of side dishes. We saw a wide variety of people there - young and older people on dates, families with small children, etc. - all having a good time. There was one blip in our service - the kitchen didn't get us one appetizer on time. Our waitress came over and apologized and then immediately told us that if we still wanted it, it was on the house. (Kitchens make mistakes - it's nice when restaurants own up to it rather than just saying an empty "gee, sorry about that"!) The appetizer, scallops wrapped in bacon, might have been late, but it was scrumptious when it came. We were stuffed (each of us took part of our dinner home), but we had to try the beignet dessert. Four small, delicious chocolate filled pastries, served with strawberry, chocolate, and caramel sauces on the side. Just sinful and wonderful. This was a bit of a trek for us - about a 35 minute drive, but it was well worth it and we'll be back whenever we need a BBQ fix. read more

Love this place. Highly recommend! Never disappointed by the food, and I always bring people who are visiting Marlborough here.

This was the last restaurant we visited before the shut-down and the first place we came to now that things are opening. The patio seating is wonderful and everything is super clean. Wonderful service and delicious BBQ. Love the nachos! We felt totally safe and will definitely be back soon. read more

If you are looking for a place to have your first meal our since being in quarantine- Fire Flys in Marlborough is the place!! Everything is so clean, we got our food quickly and had fabulous service. They took our temperatures when we came in, they have throw away menus or you can view on your phone and all of the staff is wearing masks. Not to mention the ambiance on the outdoor patio is wonderful. Highly suggest checking the place out if you have never been or returning if you are a loving customer! read more

We have been doing take out from them due to the pandemic. Unlike other restraints they have there act together. Our order was complacently right. There was an efficient pick up circle which made getting the food fast and simple. The ribs and grilled chicken where excellent, but there sides where the real winners. The collard green are the best around. Can't wait to try them in the actual restaurant when everything opens back up! read more

The food was actually really good. My mom found this place for brunch for my uncles birthday. It was like 17.99 pp for the buffet. They dont have an omelette station which would help to get to 5 stars. They also didnt label the ice cream or sweet potatoes which looked like it had nuts in it. They had eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, waffles, french toast, salads, fruit, rice, mac and cheese. Buffet is not for a gluten free person for example the bacon is on a bed of bread to sop up the grease. But you can order off the menu sweet tea was good. Service a little slow but it was extremely busy. I would absolutely go back i just wish they had more gf options for the brunch and omelettes as well read more

I have eaten barbecue food all over the United states as I travel for work, and then I tried Firefly's barbecue to discover that I have one of the best barbecue restaurants in my backyard. I have been here many times now and have never had a bad meal. The sides are delicious and there is a great selection, my favorites are the mac and cheese and the homemade potato chips. Service is always friendly and helpful, and the owner is always there to ask how your meals are. I honestly think it is the best barbecue food I have ever had!!! read more

So i thought that i was not ready to dine indoors - so we went to Firefly's with the intention of eating on their gorgeous backyard patio. Unfortunately, there was a bit of rain and so hunger overtook us and inside we went. Well, the staff at Firefly's is amazing. They are cleaning, sanitizing, washing and wiping constantly. The staff are masked and gloved. Customer temperatures are being taken at the door. They are taking all the necessary precautions. Now on to the important stuff - Brisket, Ribs and Beer. AWESOME. The brisket has just the perfect amount of smoky flavor and is incredibly tender. The ribs "fall off the bone". Truth is I didn't have any beer - as their drink menu (should be called concoctions menu) kept us "entertained" all afternoon. Plus the Whiskey list is endless and complete. Five Stars on all fronts! read more

Having been spoiled by Blue Ribbon BBQ, I didn't know what to expect of this place despite having heard numerous positive reviews from friends. Finally came here for dinner with the family on a Saturday night and was immediately impressed by the customer-centric service. We didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was already getting quite busy. The receptionist was able to quickly figure out a plan, communicate it to the staff via her walkie-talkie, and have us seated minutes after arriving here. Needless to say, this instantly created a very positive impression on me. We ordered the 4-meat combo to try out their ribs, pulled pork, Jamaican chicken and pork belly. Our children ordered from the kids' menu. Our waitress was knowledgeable, patient and prompt, and checked in on us just enough times to provide the right amount of service, like when we spontaneously added another meat to our combo. Everything we ate was quite good, including the collard greens and baked beans. What makes this restaurant stand out is it's impeccable service. The staff was extremely friendly and checked in on us several times to ensure we were satisfied with our food. read more

We JUST moved from the South and we were craving barbecue. We have eaten a lot of barbecue from Kansas to Texas to Kentucky and to be perfectly honest-- we weren't expecting much -- after all we're in New England. We were surprised and impressed! The barbecue was delicious. The brisket was some of the best I've ever had-- Smokey and tender. The ribs, sausage and side dishes were also on par. They had a nice bourbon (we used to live along the bourbon trail) selection and the service was great. It made me a little less homesick. read more

It's a sunday morning, I open my eyes and wince from the pain. My right eye is terribly sore and I have trouble getting it all the way open. It stings when I blink. I can feel my feet at the edge of the bed. They are cold and clammy. I have piercing gas pains in my abdomen. I realize my sheets are drenched in sweat. I'm exhausted. I struggle to get out of my bed and make it to the bathroom. I just don't feel right. I turn on the lights and look into the mirror. My face comes into focus. It has broken out with several large cysts, and one of them is directly below my right eye. I am nauseous, greasy, and depressed. You ask why? I ate at Firefly's the night before... I live miles away from Marlboro, but I had heard good things and felt it was worth the drive. I had a strong craving for fried chicken and one of my clients had dropped me some intel about FF's. I arrived for dinner around 5:00 and the place wasn't exactly packed. I guess this should have been a warning. I was alone, but I was given a nice booth by the window. Once I took a look at the menu, I decided I wanted to try MANY things. I had ordered the Southern Porked Macaroni and Cheese as an appetizer (macaroni and cheese, mixed with pulled pork), along with Onion Straws. The straws were delicious and plentiful. The sauce was tangy and creamy, mmm. I checked out the salad bar as well (don't bother unless you like baby corns, that's about all you'll find). For my entrees, I knew I wanted the Southern Fried Chicken dinner with some mac n cheese and french fries for my sides. It also came with some moist corn bread and succulent white gravy. It was all very good, but unusually heavy. Of course I couldn't pass up the ribs, so I got a half-rack of St. Louis ribs and a half-rack of Baby Back ribs (no sides). I got both racks with the Dixie Kiss sauce. For desert, I had the Red Velvet cake. It was okay. I could barely finish and I was starting to feel vaguely sick. I was ready to go, but I felt a little remiss about not trying The Yardbird (I love dry rubbed chickens). I ordered it to go and intended to eat it the next day for lunch. I ended up eating it for a mid-night snack. I couldn't resist and I knew it would be better fresh anyway. Now, I gave FF two stars. The food was very good, but there was something about it that just did not agree with me. Not sure if there were "freshness" issues with this meat, or maybe the saturated fat content was off the charts (maybe even lots of trans-fats?) Whatever it was, I was not right for days. I ended up going back to bed for the rest of the weekend. It was delicious, but it just wasn't worth the suffering. read more

Firefly catered the wedding that I shot yesterday. Believe me when I tell you that by September I NEVER EVER EVER EVER want to see a chicken breast in a sauce with steamed veggies and some sort of starch product arranged artfully on a plate EVER EVER EVER AGAIN. Ever. So when the Firefly truck pulls up and the charcoal smell gets going, I know we're in for some good food. And meowza-- pulled pork sandwiches, barbecued chicken, mac and cheese, cornbread, sweet potato something, and a wetnap. Sign me the hell up. I love it when people do something different with their wedding food. And I love barbecue. Heaven, I'm in heaven....now the DJ had best not play "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," or else. read more

The Sunday brunch buffet is great! We came here last time we were in town on a Saturday (we ordered plates instead and it was delicious!) and missed the buffet, but this time we made sure we were here on the right day. I am from the south (NC/GA) so BBQ is serious stuff to me. For us to want to get it in the North, it has to be really good. The buffet has breakfast foods like eggs, bacon, waffles etc AND lunch foods like salads, sides, ribs, bbq, fried chicken, fruit and more. OH! and dessert pies! I almost just drooled on the keyboard thinking about the food! YUM! The special pickles are amazing. I don't know what they put in there, but I wish I could take a huge jar home and put them on everything. Their fried chicken is on point too....crispy and juicy. Oh yes and there is something about those fried corn balls...I love them! They also have so many types of BBQ sauce, which covers all tastebud preferences. YUM! I would definitely go back when I am in town again. Great food and service! read more
