I've been here a lot and their food is always good. Makes for great takeout food as well. Had an issue with my New Years order, but they reached out to me and refunded my order the next day which I really appreciated. read more

I've been craving real Southern Style BBQ for a long time after going to a great place in Dallas and to find out this place was so close to where I lived had me really excited. Me and a friend got the Texas Beef Brisket Platter and the Southern Fried Chicken platter and shared. Beef Brisket - Super tender, you can't even pick it up with a fork because it'll just fall apart. It didn't really have much of a bark on the edges but it tasted fine. Underneath the prices of brisket there's 2 prices of white bread that just soak up all the beef juices and end up being the most delicious part of the platter. I was disappointed with how small the pieces ended up being. I got 6 pieces but 3 of them ended up being tiny. Fried Chicken - Decent fried chicken, not too oily and juicy enough. It comes with a delicious artery clogging buttermilk gravy that I wish I could bathe in. The cornbread we got was dense and moist but it was so cold! It was like somebody just took it out of the fridge. If that cornbread was warmed, the combination of it with the buttermilk gravely would've added a star to this review by itself. For the sides we got mac and cheese, coleslaw, red beans and rice, and sweet potato fries which were all good. We tried a couple of the BBQ sauces and my favorite ended up being the North Carolina, I thought the vinegar-iness helps cut through the fattyness of the meats. Service was good, and other than the small portion of brisket I got and the cold cornbread, I had a decent dining experience. But after the rave reviews I read about this place, I felt kind of unsatisfied with my meal. Maybe it was an off night. I'll definitely come back to give it another shot. read more

Firefly's BBQ - Texas Beef Brisket platter with mac & cheese and coleslaw. - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

See all

I haven't been to Firefly's in years (no issues with the restaurant, we just moved out of town), but it was just as good as I remember. I've been craving BBQ for weeks and this finally satisfied the craving. I love their combo meals, it's a great way to sample everything you want. I opted for the two meats combo and can say that I had enough left over for lunch the next day. The pulled pork and ribs were great and the option to add whichever BBQ sauce suits your fancy is a nice touch. The sides list is almost overwhelming, especially when you want some of everything! The Mac and cheese was good with a thick cheese sauce and noodles that held their shape nicely. I also got the sweet potato pecan pudding. It's essentially dessert, but it's a nice way to break up the meal. Overall, food was tasting and the service was great. This is a solid BBQ joint with great options for everyone. read more

Firefly's BBQ - 2 meats combo: pulled pork, ribs, Mac and cheese, sweet potato pecan pudding, and cornbread - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

We had a party of 5 for dinner last night. We were disappointed that the salad bar went away. Our friend brought over little cups of the sauces for us to try while we were waiting on our waitress to bring our drinks over, which did not take long we got the cucumber salad and fried pickles for our appetizers. We loved them both. The cucumber salad had a light, sweet vinaigrette that was a wonderful complement to the rich meats. The fried pickles were perfect!. Light and crisp "batter" with the exact tang I love in a fried pickle. My only complaint is that there were not enough of them. The bbq was phenomenal, these guys definitely know what they are doing! The sides were delish but as a potato salad junkie, I was disappointed, very bland and it tasted like it was just potato chunks and mayo, The service was great, our waitress took the time to explain each sauce to us and proactively gave us what we need to power through delicious st louis ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Definitely a place to get your bbq on. read more

Firefly's BBQ - St. Lous Rib platter - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

The service was horrible!!! The waitress was nice, but she was too busy! My husband ordered a Pepsi, we had to ask twice before we received it, and it still had taken forever. Once we received our food it was just ok, warm at best. read more

Service and food are outstanding! Might be the best bbq in the greater Boston area. We will definitely be back

THIS place is Awesome!! My new favorite place for BBQ in New England! Efficient and friendly service. I forget the name of the cutie who served us but he was on it. Good timing, we never wanted for anything! Ok so the food was great! Not necessarily the best BBQ ever, but solid and tasty. The pickled cucumber start was amazing! Oh and the whiskey!!! After ordering shots of 10year Whistle Pig, the general manager came over and gave us some fascinating details about the whiskeys they carry (over 100) and differences between rye, wheat, etc. A couple samples to conclude the lesson and I'm a happy customer! If that's not enough, after head to Dante's on the weekends for live music. 100% Awesome... atmosphere, service, food! read more

5 star food, service & music at this fine family owned establishment. Kat, our server made our experience extra special with her ultra accommodating & responsive service and friendly style. I was visiting the area for a special occasion with my parents, brothers & spouses and we decided to try BBQ at Firefly's. All 8 of us are experienced BBQ foodies, some from Texas and Louisiana, and found the BBQ food quality to be top shelf for everything we tried in the large combination platter for 6 people. Not only was the food taste and quality exceptional, but the quantity was abundant so we had leftovers too. The seating was comfortable and the cover band "Gunpowder & Led" was worthy of very large venue quality with extremely accurate vocal tone and instrumentals along a diverse time span of rock genre. A Highly recommend experience if you enjoy BBQ in a fun and entertaining atmosphere. read more

Been to Firefly's many times over the years, but this was by far my best experience! Jamie went out of his way to make awesome recommendations, answer all of our questions, and make my guests traveling from out of state feel right at home! We'll be back, and we'll be asking for Jamie's section from now on whenever we can! Absolutely outstanding service. read more

I've been going to Firelfy's for years now. They pivoted well during the pandemic. The owner still comes out to check on each table. Never a disappointing experience! read more

A favorite of our family, we have not been in a few months due to coronavirus. We went this past weekend, and it was as great as ever! Brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken... All absolute winners, some of the best barbecue in the area and even the entire state. Their ability to take humble foods like cornbread and potato salad and transform them into something interesting and exciting is remarkable. Social distancing on the patio was great and other safety precautions seemed well considered. Highly recommended! read more

Came here for a going away party for a co worker. Was pleasantly surprised with the amazing service despite being a large party but also the efficiency overall. I got a pulled chicken sandwich and fries and it was perfectly cooked! I got the chance to tru some other things and I would say the chicken tenders were my favorite read more

Great BBQs and very friendly staff. The menu is broad and the food is terrific. The outdoor patio is very nice and features live music. Highly recommend - by far the best BBQ on the area. read more

Now that restaurants are taking seatings, Firefly was one of our first stops and we were not disappointed! We were first impressed by the organized entry process and awesome outdoor patio, though we ate inside because of the heat. The drink and beer list was impressive and reasonably priced. If you are a whiskey drinker, that list looks insane! The menu features a diverse variety of BBQ, as well as decent vegetarian and gluten free options. We didn't have room, but both the appetizer and dessert menu were impressive. My partner and I split a 3 meat platter - St Louis Ribs, fried chicken, pulled pork, Mac n Cheese, collards, cornbread and an extra side of dirty rice. Everything was done right. Mac n cheese and fried chicken particularly stood out to me. We are looking forward to when it is safe to visit the bar and hang out for a game. It looked like a spacious, comfortable room to enjoy the insane-sounding nachos and awesome beer list. Of note was their organization and cleanliness in light of the pandemic. The dining room is big enough that parties are comfortably separate. Staff were cleaning tables, booths, and chairs as parties left. Every patron was required to have their forehead temperature taken. They are taking the health and safety recommendations very seriously while delivering on an incredible dinner. read more

Awesome pulled chicken and Mac and cheese! They are great for catering parties, a bit expensive though,.

The food here is delicious! The selections are flavorful and fresh! The barbecue is tender and the selection of sauces (from sweet to savory to spicy) is amazing. Did I already say the food is delicious? Well let me say it again the food is delicious!!! The offerings are well presented. The service here is top notch. If you are looking for great barbecue then FireFly's is absolutely the place! Do yourself a favor and visit here soon and often. read more

Amazing food, fast service, and friendly staff. The ambiance is pretty good and the restaurant has variety of food and drinks options.

We are driving through Marlboro, MA on our way to Bar Harbor, ME and we had dinner at Firefly's BBQ. We went there for the outside seating, and although it wasn't open, but they made all the effort to open 1 table for us and accommodate us. From the server Kaleena to the manager Robert, all very nice and checked on us periodically. The food was awesome as well. We got Caesar salad, wings and chicken and waffle, the bowel with the Mac and cheese was a little runny (cheese wise) but it was huge and shareable. Thank you Firefly BBQ. read more

Horribly disappointed.. we got baby back ribs. They were dry and wacky over cooked. Basically inedible. This was a Sunday afternoon during a patriots game. If you don't have freshly made ribs then when would you? It was take out. read more

Love this restaurant and their professional staff. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxing

Great end to a long day. Very minimal wait time, restaurant was noisy but tolerable (even to a grinch like me). Our server, Andrew S, was friendly, efficient and attentive. We had the nachos with pulled pork...very good...plentiful and hot. I ordered the shrimp plate special and was pleasantly surprised by the portion. Just enough French fries (not the usual giant mound) and more than enough shrimp, battered and fried perfectly with a nice remoulade for dipping. My friends ordered fish tacos and ribs weren't disappointed. The host, who I can only assume was also the owner, was kind enough to get me some extra napkins and checked on us mid meal to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Very friendly and genuine. Tonight the food, atmosphere and energy of the place combined made for a memorable dinner with friends. read more

We came here with a party of seven, most of which have never been here. Gerry greeted everyone and made sure all questions were answered, took great care of us and brought us amazing food and drinks! Thought the chicken was very good and wish I just got that. Brisket and ribs were pretty dry and sides were not good. The baked beans were the largest beans so It was too beany if that makes any sense and cole slaw was also like a salad with no dressing. The sauces they had were very good which did help it but ended with corn bread which was very very good. read more

We are big into BBQ! Today we ventured to Firefly's for the first time. We asked to be seated outside, and we were thrilled with their outside patio (very welcoming and comfortable)! First we ordered the Jumbo Chicken Wings as an appetizer. There were 4 of us and after eating one each, we all looked at each other and said, "These are amazing!" "Unbelievable!" "Best I have ever had!" and "Wow!" The difference is that they use a rub on them. You don't even need any of the sauces because they are so good by themselves. Our servers, Jamie and Marisa, were very accommodating and knowledgeable. They gave us lots of info about their favorites, we talked about all the different kinds of BBQ in the US and also we learned about the history of the restaurant. I ordered the 2-meat combo with ribs and brisket. It came with very moist and buttery Cornbread and for sides I had the Mac and Cheese (homemade cheese sauce and perfectly light and fluffy) and the Collard Greens (with just enough vinegar). Others ordered the Brisket Sandwich, the 3-meat combo with Fried Chicken, Brisket and Ribs and another 3-meat combo with Pulled Pork, Texas Sausage and Brisket. Our table went quiet because we were in heaven as we devoured our food. Jamie gave us the low down on all the sauces. He guided me to put the North Carolina sauce on my Brisket and the Dixie Kiss sauce on my Ribs. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and then Jamie went above and beyond for my husband. He didn't realize that he could have ordered dark meat for his Fried Chicken, so Jamie went into the kitchen and brought him a special piece of dark meat. My husband described the Fried Chicken as crispy, juicy and full of flavor. He said that it was by far the best that he had tasted! None of us really had any room for dessert; however, we knew that we would really be missing out if we didn't order the Chocolate Beignets. Both servers told us that we would love them and they were right. They were flaky, moist and the chocolate was gooey. At the end of our stay, the owner, Steve, came out to chat with us. He was a pleasure to speak with and we could tell that he genuinely cares about his customers, his staff and of course the food that he is serving. This restaurant is about a 50-minute drive for us and we will definitely be going back! read more

During my meal last night fireflys showed me truly how great a BBQ restaurant can be. I ordered the 2 meat combo and chose to try the St. Louis ribs and pulled pork. Both items were some of the best I've ever had. But that was just the start of how great this place is. The restaurant offers a BBQ bar where you can sample all of their award winning BBQ sauces before you have to choose which one your meal gets cooked with. The Memphis is by far one of the top sauces i have ever tried, which inspired me to buy some to bring home. Next the two sides plus cornbread that came with my meal were outstanding. I got the Mac and cheese as well as the home made chips. Lastly the corn bread is absolutely delicious and if I could go back I would have made my sides 3 cornbread even though the other sides were so wonderful. read more
