Great bbq and an excellent take out menu and service. Highly recommend either for dining in or delivery.

I came here Sunday for brunch with my bf. I wasn't sure what to expect... This brunch buffet was amazing!! I mean eggs, ribs, buffalo chicken wings and red velvet cake - insanity! Even though it was served buffet style it still had good taste and was up to the good quality Firefly's always serves. The price to me seems very cheap for what they serve - $15.99. I think I may have turned my bf from his favorite Chinese buffet to wanting to come here. Although, I wouldn't recommend coming here to often - we would all blow up!! read more

If I could give more stars I would. I'm not sure what was better the food or the service. I brought 3 business partners with me we couldn't have had a better time. The manager made my partners feel at home and really payed special attention to us. Everyone raved over the food, and the selection of bourbons is outstanding. In addition the wait staff was excellent. I can't say enough about our experience there today.. read more

I had their combo meal with friend chicken and ribs with North Carolina sauce. If you love tangy vinegary sauce then North Carolina is the way to go. For sides we had their cakes and fries which were fine. It also came which cornbread which was so delicious. For dessert we had their red velvet cake which was super moist and delicious. read more

Amazing food and service. We had a server that was in training and did a great job. You could tell he was really trying to get everything right and cared. The prices were reasonable considering the amount of meat on the plate. I would def go back. We drove an hour to try it out!! Side note: We were seated and greeted by the owner as everyone else was handling a very busy delivery counter. read more

Great food, excellent value and wonderful service. Every time I am in the Boston area, I like to make a trip here. It is also good for children! read more

We had the "Picnic for 4" family meal with a full rack of St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, fried chicken, and 2 sides. We opted for the cucumber salad and red beans with dirty rice. Oh, and rolls and cornbread. It was a lot of food. The fried chicken was juicy, but it didn't lend itself as well to takeout as the pork items as the crispy skin became soggy. The ribs reheated well and were fall off the bone meaty. The cucumber salad was awesome - sweet and tangy and refreshing with the decadent meats. The cornbread is moist and sweet - very good. Can't comment on the pulled pork yet as we filled up on the chicken and ribs and decided to save the pork for another meal. Easy option to feed a hungry family and get a night off from cooking during COVID. (Note, we wanted potato salad but it is not available during the winter). read more

With this craziness, decided to do takeout with DoorDash. Menu choices were as follows:Burnt ends, crazy woo's wings, pulled pork sandwich, 2 meat combo. (Yes someone was with me, could never polish that all by myself!). Never had burnt ends before, (boneless ribs cut up like nuggets) so my taste buds were not knowing what to expect, tad dry, but tasty (as a rib lover). The "crazy woo wings" were next: dry rub placed on a huge wing! Tasty, not over bearing. (Drumstick was big!). Friend who ordered the pull pork sandwich said there was enough for two meals. I'm too full to eat my order of St. Louis ribs, maybe for a follow up review. Bur, so far so good. Note: DoorDash delivery was offering a discount (50% on first orders )and I missed it (after checkout) and their customer service said it was unavailable to refund, lesson learned! Food came fresh and delicious. I was a bit hesitant in ordering from Firefly's as their old store in Framingham I remember the food was dry and no real effort to improve, but was very impressed and will be back! read more

Fireflies in Marlborough is amazing! It's the "go-to" venue for comfort food, the best wait staff, fun environment and it offers spectacular musical entertainment. I must especially remark on one of the best waitresses ever, Kaleena! Kaleena makes you feel like you're her only table (although she seems to perfectly manage many). She provides your food order promptly while still hot from the oven, and she checks in often enough (without overdoing it) to ensure you have everything you need. On top of that, Kaleena has great energy and such a friendly demeanor. I highly recommend you make a trip over to Fireflies and make sure to ask for Kaleena to serve you! read more

We had a really great experience. Not too crowded and spread out well. Everyone was really kind and helpful.l too. They had some great sounding specials but we opted out and stuck to the basics. Firefly's BBQ - 2 Meat Combo with ribs and brisket. Fries & the yummiest Mac n cheese EVER. - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

I am a big fan of BBQ, and this is the place in the Marlborough area if I have a craving for it. The restaurant's huge with lots of seating. There is an extensive menu and they actually rotate in different specials to switch it up if you want something other than brisket or ribs. However, I don't know why you'd want to do that because they are delicious. There is ample parking and the service is always friendly. The beer selection is pretty good too, which is of course essential when you have good brisket and ribs! read more

Firefly's BBQ - 3 meat platter with brisket, ribs, and pulled pork - Barbeque Near Me - Marlborough, Massachusetts

We don't make it out west very often, but Firefly's was worth the drive! Great experience from the ambiance to the service to the food. The kids declared it their new favorite restaurant. Upon arrival, we could smell smoke in the air, so you know you will be getting real BBQ and not the stuff they try to pass off as BBQ in other places. The service here is absolutely outstanding. The server was friendly and attentive, and no less than 2 other gentlemen stopped by to see if everything was OK. We really felt welcome. Kids gave rave reviews for the chicken and waffles (both the bone-in and the tenders). Ribs were excellent. Amazingly tender without being mushy, good rub without it being overpowering, and the Memphis sauce was great. Sausage was excellent as well. Pulled pork and brisket were decent, but I'd probably just stick with the ribs next time. Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and fries were great as well. The selection of sides and sauces was impressive. We will be back! read more

Came in to make my girl happy after a stress filled day.. with this being my first time, I am beyond thrilled by the service and food. With my full rack of ribs, the bones literally slid out like a college Saturday night. It was like a party in my mouth, with everyone coming. The Mac and cheese was phenomenal, cucumber salad was delicious, and the cornbread made the perfect dessert. Our flight of whiskey hit the spot... & the service was personable. Jerry was great, he made me feel like family and had the perfect suggestions to make the ribs even better than they already were. I highly recommend this establishment, not only due to the amazing service and food.. but the protocol during this covid pandemic was compliant and made my dining experience even better. read more

Pretty good bbq along Route 20 in Marlborough. It's been around for a while and I've never tried it. It's well known around the metro Boston area and is often on phantom gourmet and other food shows. Gave it a try a few months back and was impressed. The staff is friendly and attentive and it's a pretty good size and offer valet parking. I gave the kid a $10 thinking he was working solo but when leaving another dude got the car and didn't seem happy I was out of cash. Catch you on the way back next time! We sat at the bar and they were gearing up for some live music that night and when the band got on, it was like a dads garage band playing some classic cover songs. They were good though. The food and drinks were also good. They do a tasty hard Lime Rickey and The fried pickle chips were tasty and served w a delicious aioli sauce. Great start before a feast. I got the pulled pork platter w sides of Mac n cheese and beans w corn bread. Now I didn't order beans bc who wants to be around a guy all night after bbq and beans ? But I forgot what I had ordered but the beans were delicious. As was the Mac n cheese and corn bread. Perfect. The pulled pork was piled high and the sauces were tasty. The pork was well cooked and tasted great. The platter left me in a food coma. The reputation It has was definitely backed up during my trip there. Looking forward to my next visit there and a pleasant drive. read more

We were there with our church before going into Boston to see a play! There were about 50 of us! First of all Marisa, our waitress, was AMAZING. We were at 4 big tables and she kept everything moving and gave us EXCELLENT service with a beautiful smile. Secondly the food was DELICIOUS!!! I didn't hear a complaint from anyone and we're all talking about going back as a group and / or individually. You won't be disappointed! read more

I was surprised that Firefly's had very good BBQ. They could easily compete with BBQ joints in Texas and Tennessee. Two of us sat at the bar and split an order of the Pick 3 Meat plate with a side of beans and greens (added jalapeno cornbread and a salad also). The three meats were brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The brisket was very tender, ribs nicely charred and pork moist. The greens were tender and well flavored and beans were tasty. The condiment bar was a nice touch. I love peppers and there was a good variety. We tried the Dixie Kiss, N Carolina and Texas BBQ sauces. They had a nice flavor, but the N Carolina was a bit runny. I prefer a hot/spicy sauce and the options available were on the milder side.Other items I noticed, but didn't order are jumbo wings and burnt ends. Both looked delicious. read more

Best barbecue in Boston, outstanding food and ambiance, normal for the owner to stop by and ask how dinner was. Exceptional service.

Genuinely a need-to-try for everyone; people visiting Mass for the first time, those just turning 21, families and friends all around. Despite being very hopping and busy, my friends and I got a table quickly with our new favourite server: Kaleena. If you have the opportunity, DEFINITELY ask to be seated in her section. She was everyone you'd need, especially for a first time visit; funny and professionally good at getting you the best of the menu. The energy of the restaurant as a whole is fun, easy-going, and definitely a little on the louder side (not Always a bad thing!). Best item on the menu for me: the brisket sandwich with the sweet potato pudding side, that 1$ extra is absolutely worth it. read more

I love this place, totally recommended! Food service and ambiance are 2 tbumbs up!! Everything's about it is great!

Let me begin this review of Firefly's BBQ with an important piece of advice: do not skip the cornbread. In fact, you might want to order extra cornbread. Or better yet, pitch a tent in the parking lot at Firefly's so you will be better able to access the cornbread when a craving hits (and it will, trust me.) OK, salient advice provided, onto the rest of the review. I'd been wanting to try Firefly's for a while, so I was happy to get the opportunity. With COVID-19 restaurant restrictions still in place, I was very pleased with Firefly's takeout system--I pulled up alongside a young man who asked for my name and then brought my pre-paid order right out to my car, couldn't have been easier. I ordered a combo plate with my go-tos: brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, and the order came with the aforementioned killer cornbread. They have a number of different sauces at Firefly's, and I opted to get the North Carolina and the Memphis on the side with my order (no sauce on the meat.) I ate the cornbread first and. . .wow, just. . .wow. It was delicious! I received a very generous piece that was moist and slightly sweet, with a beautiful and decadent buttery glaze on top. It practically melted in my mouth. I was in such a cornbread-induced euphoria that I nearly forgot about the rest of my meal. Nearly. The coleslaw was good. The dressing was pleasant and mild--not too sweet or too tangy--and the cabbage was crisp and not soggy. I would say it was slightly overdressed for my taste, but that's a personal preference. When I turned to the beans, I was surprised to see so many different kinds of beans in the mix. It was very cool to have the different sizes and slightly different texture that came from each bean--it was a nice touch. The downside, though, was the sauce, which had good flavor and was the right thickness (not runny!), but was a little too spicy for my taste. Now, I'm a super spice wimp, so for the average person, I'm sure the spice level wouldn't be an issue. But, if you are spice-averse, I'd opt for a different side (and there were plenty of tasty-sounding sides to choose from.) OK, sides devoured, I moved on to the meat. Both the pulled pork and brisket were cooked perfectly, which was an absolute delight. Most barbecue places I've been to get one meat very right, and the other not so much. I'm pleased to say that both meats were moist and tender, and I could really taste the smokiness in each bite. The pulled pork had a bit of bark mixed in, and the perfect level of saltiness. The brisket was a delicious mix of fat and lean, with enough fat to keep things tender but not so much that it was all gristle. The flavor was exceptional. I'm SO glad I got the sauces on the side because this meat needed nothing to elevate it. I did taste the sauces, just because I was curious, and the North Carolina had a nice tang, with some heat on the finish. The Memphis was sweet and sticky and quite tasty. Also, I must say, the portions of everything were huge. I wanted to order more cornbread, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to eat any more (and you have to eat it while it's still warm - trust me.) So, the verdict--Firefly's does it right. The meats were extremely well done, the sides were both delicious and innovative (all those different beans!), and cornbread is out-of-this-world good. Add on to that the great service I received, and they've got the whole package. Go. Eat. Enjoy. And, whatever you do, save room for the cornbread. read more

Ok, so for a long time I avoided going here. When you or actually I hear the words Barbecue, I back off thinking they serve pork. Ok ok, that's called stereotyping. Anyway, it was the knowledge of them having Chicken and Waffles that had me happily walk in and oh my God, I am sooooo glad I did. They have THE BEST chicken and waffles I have ever had! I did not have room for my sides, but they will make a perfect meal tomorrow. I will be back and I have my eyes on the beef brisket. As to the service. We absolutely loved our waitress Korie. So far, one of the best Southern BBQ places I've been to up here. Why? Well, here's the run-down: 1) They have a wall of hot sauces. It starts with HOT! and goes up four tiers to ass-whumpin' (I'm paraphrasing). There's even one special hot sauce that's encased in glass and requires a waiver before trying (cause you know, death and all). And trust me guys, these hot sauces are the real deal and not meant to be taken lightly. Also, their homemade BBQ sauce is pretty solid, my personal fav is the Beezelbub. 2) The BBQ platters are the best deal of the century. We got the platter for six (we were a party of four) as we wanted the brisket, and the four person combo didn't have that in the set. We figured most BBQ places give such a sparse amount of food, we could handle food for six and take home whatever we didn't finish. Well, let's just say we ended up taking most of the food home. The portions are HUGE and totally worth it. At $100 for the six person platter, despite being four, we paid $25/pp before tax and tip? It was ALMOST like BBQ buffet, except we got to take home lots of food! 3) Oh right, the quality. DAMN GOOD. BBQ ribs fell right off the bones. Fried chicken was perfectly battered, and juicy AF. Brisket and pulled pork was also tender and flavorful. But surprisingly, the star of the show was the cornbread. It was more like corn CAKE. Supes moist, pleasantly sweet, and generously served (slices are enormous). The sides were aite, nothing standout TBH, but I highly recommend the green beans to even out the meat orgy you're served. If this place weren't so far from me, I'd come every week and order the six person platter even if it was my lonesome self. read more

Firefly's has been one of Marlborough's premier BBQ restaurants and entertainment locations for years. Steve & the "S.W.A.T." team put out delicious food and stay current to the times with frequent menu changes. Some people say " it's the little things" that matter most. As far as BBQ goes, for Massachusetts, it's good. If you're used to southern BBQ, you'll be disappointed. They're also a bit over priced. I love fire flies, but wish they would go back to their more Cajun menu which includes things like crawfish and catfish, but I do understand that in New England it may not be too popular, but I really enjoyed it while they had it and maybe they should've had a little jambalaya on the side read more

I fully appreciate how this restaurant has gone above and beyond protecting us patrons and their own employees. There were so many steps throughout (e.g. hand sanitizer stations, distanced tables, employees stepping to the side as you walk by, touch-less payment at the end) to address the COVID situation. This also means that the hot sauce wall is temporarily out of commission. Reservations are highly recommended, as less tables are in use. The patio is a nice space to eat if the weather is nice out. Upon seating, you can access the menus via QR codes on the table, however that didn't work on our phones so our server gave us paper menus. We started off with the FIREFLY'S WINGS (5), which were very large, perfectly smoked and still juicy. Note that the wings are still joined, rather than separated as wing and drummette, so an order of 5 is equivalent to 10 pieces. The accompanying side ranch and hot sauces were delicious. For our mains, we had the BRISKET platter + FRIES & ROASTED CORN, and the full slab of BABY BACK RIBS + COLLARD GREENS & MAC N' CHEESE. Both platters came with a hearty portion of corn bread, which had a phenomenal corny taste and perfectly crisp bottom. The brisket, which sat upon toast, was tender and juicy. I was a tad bit overambitious because ordering a full slab is a ton of food. The ribs were fall-off-bone tender. The mac n' cheese was gooey with cheese, and the collars greens had a good tang with bits of meat sprinkled throughout. We couldn't decide which BBQ sauce to have, so our server brought out all 5 options. Our favorites were the Memphis and Texas sauces. We tried to use a phantom gourmet gift card, but our server said their machine was unfortunately down. This was my first time back in over 8 years, but am glad to see that the food is still good (if not better) and service top notch. I felt confident in eating indoors, as the entire staff were taking the necessary precautions. Will surely be back soon! read more
