Obviously the cheapest they could find. * Most railings and posts are split, broken and crooked. None of the joints are flush. * Boards are splintering and cracked. The final edge was split prior to being screwed down. * Chunks of scrap wood were used to cover mistakes. The cuts were obviously eyeballed. * Stairs are barely hanging on. Incorrectly installed, and already failing. * I could go on and on. I wrote to Craig directly three months ago with photos to get this corrected. He pushed it off several times and no longer responds to my messages. I am incredibly disappointed and it will likely cost several thousand dollars to correct his work.

After calling a few places, they all felt that a single window wasn't worth their time so I used Yelp's feature to send a standard request template to multiple companies at once, and Steve with HHI responded immediately. His schedule was about two weeks out which was no problem for us since the issue didn't involve cold air seeping into the house. He was finished in less than one hour and very reasonably priced. I wasn't sure how the rebuild should be done, but I had a few ideas. Jason was an excellent sounding board. I laid out my top priorities and how I thought they could be handled. He was easy to collaborate with, and whenever we hit practical limits to my vision, he was honest, clear, and quick to propose workable alternatives. His team showed up when they said they would and cleaned up every day, which made a big difference while living in the house during the job. They were also accommodating and able to work around four other projects I was managing in the house at the same time. The project did run a little longer than expected, but it was a negligible trade-off for the result: a bathroom that genuinely feels like something out of a magazine. What started as a plan to gain a bit of space and fix aging plumbing ended in something much better. I actually love taking showers again. Jason and his team delivered, big time. Only thing left now is saving enough to get him to do the rest of my house.

20141221 Sunday Update…read more Peter Komorowski, the owner, of Origins Granite contacted us through Yelp, in direct response to this review, The owner's daughter spoke with Peter for an hour last night detailing the list of issues. He followed through this morning with acquiring a local plumber to review the sink and garbage disposal installation. The plumber arrived (on a Sunday) and was able to do a temporary fix so the sink (and kitchen) are again usable for the incoming horde of relatives on this long holiday. The plumber discovered far more than a simple leak but a faulty installation affecting the longer drainage from the sink. An estimate was provided to Peter, who additionally paid the plumbing company directly for the Sunday visit. We have exchanged several more conversations with Peter now by both email and telephone about these are related issues. And he has received photographs of the install, and the water / sealing issue. Once his office in Cranberry opens tomorrow he will continue to investigate the issues detailed below and several others. So, for this moment, given his direct responsiveness and support over a weekend, we are moving this rating to a 3 or A-OK. And a more detailed follow up will occur as items are rectified. f8 and be there. --------------------------------------------------------- //Original review below//. Our experience with this company has been far less than desirable. On the initial installation, which was postponed at least a week from the initial time, the installer did not create the "seamless" top advertised in their promotional literature. The seams are easy to find visually. They need refinished on-site. The plumber never came so the countertop installer did the new sink, the new garbage disposal, and the existing gas stove range. Oddly, the actual, certified plumbers came the next day and didn't know about the previous work. No inspection of the other work at all. The garbage disposal leaks now. We have asked that a certified plumber (and gas line installer) return to complete the tasks per code. No response and no emergency call-back system apparently. The counter-top was to be sealed per their promotional literature. It was not. A regional manager came out and applied a single coat of sealant. It still stains over with water. Calling their main customer number and asking for the manager appears to have little effect. Thus the counter-top has to be covered to keep water off it until we (apparently) can seal it ourselves. They were very quick to take the full payment up front of course. We should have done more research. Frankly, we should have gone to Lowe's or Home Depot.

Obviously we went with someone else. The project was literally a third of the price, and it was completed in a couple weeks, right after the estimate. We are very pleased with the outcome. Unfortunately, I could never recommend Conrad. There are so many other options out there.

Our 25 year old kitchen was transformed into such a beautiful and modern space. Mindy really knows her stuff and will help you along the way with your plan. The installers were really top notch, were so precise and exacting with every measurement and they truly took pride in their craft. The trim work is beautiful. And they were really easy to be around which is important since you will be together for a couple weeks. Everyone who was in the house--cabinet installers, the plumber, the paint and plaster guys, the electrician--was really, really nice. There is so much to coordinate with the timing of a project like this and all the people who work behind the scenes like Bert, Dave and Bernie were extremely quick to respond to all of my calls and texts. We are so thrilled with the results.
