Called a few masons for a job repointing our pillars. Charlie came out promptly and gave us a fair quote for the pillars and pointed out other spots on our house that needed attention including being able to see through the mortar on the chimney. His team showed up when they said they would, worked professionally, and walked me through everything at least 3 times during the project. I got three quotes for the job. Wee have an old house with a steep roof and a chimney that needed to be repointed. I reached out to Charles, who got back to me that same day and came to see us a couple of days later to do an inspection and give us a quote. He was flexible in ​scheduling the work, came exactly when he said he would, came back on the second day exactly when he said he would, and ​finished. He was easy to reach by text and confirmed the days before his scheduled work. The end result ​​is incredible. The chimney looks brand new. Wish I could make the bricks on the rest of the house look this great! ​These days​ it's hard to even get somebody to return your call let alone give an estimate, let alone ​do the work. Seems like a nice guy, but can't recommend him for mason services. Hired the company to cap my chimney and stop leakage into my house. Inspected my chimney and said leaks would stop with a cap. After installation, leak continued. Inspected and did a water test and couldn't figure out what was wrong...no discount or refund offered. Seemed genuinely befuddled on why the leak continued... On two different occasions, came on days I told him I wasn't available (agter offering him multiple other dates). Not terrible since with the work was mostly outdoors, but not great either. read more

I 100% recommend this company. Almost 2 months ago the bricks on the front of our house literally fell down. It was an unbelievably stressful time. We had called several brick masons for quotes and Total Care were the only ones that said they would come right away to look and then started the job the following week. I was so happy with the job they did on the front of the house that I asked them to look around the house for other spots that need done. In the process of our bricks falling, our porch roof and upper roof on the house were damaged. Charlie at Total Care let me know they partner with a roofing company and he made all the calls/arrangements for me. They made something that really was a nightmare easier and less stressful for my family. I definitely recommend them for all your brick needs. Just a great company! They replaced our chimney liner last spring for pennies on the dollar from another company's quote, and did a FABULOUS job. They were happy to show me their process - I was so interested in how the chimney liner works as a new home owner. Our old one was full of pinholes - it was 20+ years old, and the new one stopped our living room leak. Then we had a small leak continue this fall - couldn't figure it out. They came back and patched up anything they could find on the chimney, and a month later the leak is gone! As a general contractor once told me - a chimney is just a big hole in your roof, so leaks are a constant issue. I cannot say enough good things about this company. We had seen that a leak had formed and that it had come from right below the chimney. After getting a quote from Chimney Crickets for waterproofing, a new liner, and some brick replacement for $2,500, Total Care Restoration came to the rescue. They did the same exact job for $1,600. Furthermore, they repointed the entire chimney FOR FREE! They had found some extra bricks and just decided to redo the entire chimney! Our mason said he views his work as an art and it shows, because our leak has stopped and our chimney looks brand new! Give these guys a shot! Two years ago, I had Charles repoint two chimneys, fix a crumbling wall, and do some spot pointing. He did a great job, so I had him back this year to fix two lintels, repoint the front of my house (the side that gets the weather), and clean the brick. Needless to say, he did a great job again. The cost of the initial bid was one of the cheapest around and my chimney was caulked as agreed, but after the job was done I was asked to pay double of what was originally agreed. The argument was that the initial quote did not include the cost of materials. When I was shown a HomeDepot receipt, it had many items not related to my job, plus I was told to pay $25 for their car gas. Eventually they backed off some of these costs, but I still was forced to pay for some of the parts above the initial quote. I will not be doing business with this company in the future and recommend that you get a WRITTEN contract with exact amount before you hire them. read more
