There…read morewas no place in my review where I stated that I expected you to "drop everything" or to "risk everything" in order to complete the job. In fact, in my review I stated that all I asked for was the curtesy to let me know you'd decided you were no longer interested in the job. I left a voicemail, asking if you'd decided not to do it. It would not have required you to drop anything to take less than 30 seconds to reply to the text I had sent with the photos and say you were no longer interested. That would have demonstrated a level of professionalism and common courtesy that should be a cornerstone of your business. Instead, you decide to respond to this review three years later with a passive-aggressive reply that only serves to make you look incredibly unprofessional. No part of my review was unreasonable, and the resolution that I said I hoped for was completely fair. Sending a text message would not have endangered your life or your health, but it would have gone a long way to showing that you're a decent person who cares about doing right by people, even when you aren't going to take the job.

He told that he took other work and will come next day. After that when i called few times, his girl friend/partner replied saying he was sick with flu. Since then he will never respond to my texts or calls. I moved all stuff into one room and my wife was pretty pissed off. The guy didn't inform or reply about schedule change or even take our calls. We are stuck with piles of luggage in one room and he barely care to respond. Initially he said that he has another work next week but he only has couple of days worth work at our house. When i sent email to his email, it bounced. Now i am thinking his company is fake and i would not recommend the company for any one else. He talked about quality a lot and complained about previous refinishing in other rooms. He didn't have decency to update the customer about change of plans. He just moves to other contract leaving existing ones in the middle if he gets a better rate and bigger work. That's what i am getting about this company.

Avoid at All Costs - Total Ripoff by Joshua Schwartz & Artifex Remodeling…read moreI wish I had read a review like this before hiring Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling because it would have saved me a massive headache and a lot of money. This was, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a contractor. The Bait-and-Switch Tactic Joshua Schwartz came off as confident and knowledgeable during the initial consultation. He promised high-quality work, reasonable timelines, and great attention to detail. Everything sounded perfect. But the moment I paid my deposit, the professionalism disappeared. Getting responses became nearly impossible, and suddenly, all those "guarantees" were just empty words. Deposit Taken, Then Ghosted After taking my deposit, communication became a nightmare. Calls and messages were ignored, and when I did get a response, I was fed nothing but excuses and delays. Weeks went by with no progress. I had to chase them down just to get vague, half-hearted answers about why the project hadn't started. Poor Workmanship & Cutting Corners When they finally did show up to do the work, it was rushed and completely subpar. Crooked installations, sloppy finishes, and corners cut everywhere. It was clear that they were just trying to get in and out as quickly as possible while still collecting full payment. And when I pointed out the issues? They either ignored me or made excuses. Price Keeps Changing & No Accountability The final straw was when they suddenly asked for more money to "fix issues" that they themselves created! I had already paid them a significant amount, and now they were trying to squeeze more money out of me for their own mistakes. When I refused, they basically walked away and left the job unfinished. Final Verdict - Stay Away Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling are completely untrustworthy. They will take your money, disappear, and then do shoddy work when they finally show up. Do NOT trust this company. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away and hire someone reputable. You've been warned.

Ask James Contracting did a great job working with us, completing multiple projects at our new…read morehouse. First they did painting for us in multiple rooms, and they were very meticulous. The job was done quickly too. Then, we had had them install engineered flooring in a living room, two bedrooms, and a hallway. As I write this, they are working on the staircase to the upstairs, installing the same flooring there as well. As often happens, there was a mix up in the delivery from the store and there was not enough of the stair nose. James was flexible and was able to come back as soon as the correct pieces were delivered. I appreciate that he takes the time to explain what he is doing as well. I recommend James and his crew for similar projects.

Seriously avoid. I don't think he is actually licensed. Had him remove a partial wall which turned…read moreinto a bigger headache and expense than it needed to be. Kept promising that his electrician would show up and never did. But in the end I'm thankful we arrived and realized we needed to put a halt on the work. A corner of a wall was literally just taped instead of making a right angle. Areas that were supposed to be mud were actually spackled which does not fix cracks. He glued wood pieces on my floor and didn't listen to our previous conversation of needing to match the kitchen floor up with the extra in the basement. To add to that I saw one of his "crew" leave with my ladder on my garage camera (came in with no ladder and left with my $100 ladder) I did not confront this until I arrived in person because i was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. It was in my sunroom with all other belongings so they went in there when they should've been no where near there without my permission. James told me he would ask said worker and then radio silence after that. They left a huge mess and was in my floor refinishers way even though I gave clear instructions not to be there at that time (construction dust and floor refinishing don't mix) I'm still mad at myself for being conned. Please don't be desperate for a contractor like I was and check license and bonding prior to your investment and home being worked on.

Lebanon area that had good bones, but needed a lot of work. I wish we had J. Francis from the very beginning. It would have saved us serious money and a lot of wasted time. In addition to the bath remodel, they went on to rebuild our deck (which had to be completely redone due to the same bad previous contractor), install new hardwood floors in our living room/dining room and re-tile our foyer. From the moment that we contacted them through the entire remodel they have shown an impressive level of professionalism. The lead carpenter and crew did exceptional work and showed a level of professionalism that often seems to be absent. The wood work and tile work is stunning. I can not think of anything negative to say regarding the work. The quality has exceded our expectations. We strongly recommend their work.
