This is the second time my wife and I have used Pittsburgh Home Improvements and are extremely happy with the results. I have to say we can not be happier with the work tony does. If you look at some of my pictures of before and after you will be amazed. Plastering is an art and Tony has it locked down. His prices are fair and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and will definitely be using him again. Pittsburgh Home improvements does a lot more than just plastering but they do specialize in that. Tony does any and all home repairs including painting and remodelling. Unfortunately I have to give these guys a negative review. We had them do a leak repair for us back…read morein the Fall and they had to go through sections of the brick in the front of our house to repair the leak. The material they used left a 3 foot brown mark on the front of our house, which they assured us would either go away on it's own or the would come back to take care of it. Well it never went away, and it's an eye-sore to this day. I spent a lot of time out on the roof scrubbing away at it with a wire brush, but it's still there. I've texted and called and left several messages for these guys over the past month or so, which have been totally IGNORED. Who does that? Totally unprofessional. You guys told us you would take care of it and to follow up with us, and when we do, you ignore us. So now I have to strongly urge that no one use you guys, and also go hire someone else who can take care of the mess that you made. Big thumbs down for unprofessionalism.

I could not have been more wrong about John. When he first painted the house, he told us he'd…read morechange the color back when we moved free of charge. Well we moved, and he demanded we pay him $150. Since we were in a rush to move out, we paid him. He did the absolute sloppiest job I've ever seen. The property management company came in and took these pics, and told us it was absolutely unacceptable and we're going to have to pay for a real professional to do it. We're still waiting for him to give us back a refund or at least a partial refund. The reason I even gave him a good review to begin with is because he gave us a stupidly low price for painting - $300 for 3 floors. I ended up helping him midway and correcting a lot of his errors because he thought it would take him 1 day (LOL - I told him he's out of his mind, it ended up taking 3 full days, with me helping 10 hours). It's obvious he's a slop shoddy handyman at best, with no painting knowledge or experience. He even had to call his friend for painting advice. Because of the steal of a price, we hired him to install a sliding door and put a couple hooks in the ceiling (to hang a swing chair and some planters). This took him all of 45 minutes and he had the audacity to charge us $300! I said absolutely not, I'll give you $150 (which is already a lot, but I figured it would cover some of the mis-pricing of last time). He accepted this as fair since I brought up the discrepancy in his price per hour since last time. Since the last paint job mentioned at the beginning of this review, he's blocked my number (after telling me he'd give me a $75 refund for the poor job we had to pay a real professional to re-do). I feel bad being so disparaging but the truth hurts and if I can save someone else from experiencing this catastrophe of events, I will. Find someone else.

There…read morewas no place in my review where I stated that I expected you to "drop everything" or to "risk everything" in order to complete the job. In fact, in my review I stated that all I asked for was the curtesy to let me know you'd decided you were no longer interested in the job. I left a voicemail, asking if you'd decided not to do it. It would not have required you to drop anything to take less than 30 seconds to reply to the text I had sent with the photos and say you were no longer interested. That would have demonstrated a level of professionalism and common courtesy that should be a cornerstone of your business. Instead, you decide to respond to this review three years later with a passive-aggressive reply that only serves to make you look incredibly unprofessional. No part of my review was unreasonable, and the resolution that I said I hoped for was completely fair. Sending a text message would not have endangered your life or your health, but it would have gone a long way to showing that you're a decent person who cares about doing right by people, even when you aren't going to take the job.
