I was sanding down the parts of the door that my dog had scratched, re-stained the entire door multiple times allowing lots of time between coats, and it just kept drying as a patchy, unsightly mess. It doesn't sound like much but it's on the main floor of my single-level house and I was embarrassed when people would visit and have to pass by it on the way to the restroom. I searched on Yelp, as I always do, for a professional to do this job and I really liked Josh talking about the mission of his company to provide for his son, along with his excellent reviews, so I reached out. He was super responsive and was able to provide me with a quote based on photos. His quote was based on a per hour rate which always concerns me a bit because you can get contractors taking advantage of that and artificially extending their time, but he gave me a range of expected hours and said the job would not go more than $350 regardless of how much time he spent. I appreciated that upfront approach and we agreed on a day for him to start. He came over two days to do the main part of the job and I could see why it took so long as he really did it properly, sanding the door down to the dry wood and starting from scratch, which obviously was my mistake and took a whole lot of time. He did the job very professionally, removing the door from the hinges and setting it up on stands in my garage. After the door was completely dry, he planned to stop by an extra time for just a couple of minutes to put it back on its hinges, and we encountered a problem where the door, which is very old, had come apart a bit at the edges from the sanding and wouldn't close once put back on. Josh was completely unwilling to accept this as an end result and took it off again to address the problem using wood glue and clamps. Including drying time, this resulted in a couple of extra visits to my home at no extra charge, simply because he wanted to make sure the job was worthy of his five-star reviews. I was impressed with his work and his work ethic, and he more than deserves that five-star review. I won't hesitate to hire him in the future. Thanks, Josh!

I contacted Pittsburgh Pro Painters a few weeks back with the project, sent a picture of the work needed done and soon afterwards got a price quote. The company advised me to visit a Sherwin Williams paint store to get Min Wax samples so I could color match what best would look good in my kitchen. I ended up selecting a red chestnut color to go with my medium cherry cabinets and a clear coat to go on top. The company agreed to purchase it for me at their discount which I would pay for and pass the savings on to me. On the day of the project, Pete the owner sent out Mark and Joe who would be doing the work. They arrived on time and were both friendly and very professional! The first day was prepping the area, sanding it and applying a coat of the Min Wax with a paintbrush. I was thrilled to find out that I wouldn't need to have a 2nd coat applied which would save me on the labor. They came back the next day to finish the job by applying two coats of clearcoat. The results are fantastic!! Before leaving they explained how to do any necessary touch ups with the remainder of my Min Wax and answered any other questions I had. Billing can be done on the spot or you can wait to invoice you. Cards and checks are accepted. I was very pleased with the work they did and definitely will hire them again for my future painting projects.
