Alright, so I've been visiting all the gun shops in the area since I just moved here from out of state and of all the places I've been this has to be the most interesting of all. If you're unfamiliar with what they do (like I was at first), they are an 80% receiver shop. I had no clue what that was before I walked in. It's actually a federal law that says people can make their own guns for personal use as long as you don't sell it or give it away. I don't remember the exact wording of the law but they know it by heart as I imagine they repeat it often to newbies like myself. I was blown away by this and naturally had a milIlion and a half questions about the process, most of which were answered by the girl working there and the guy, Martin I believe was his name. They walked me through the whole process showing me different receivers and parts to complete them, the tooling I would need to get and even asked me what my experience was with power tools to help guide me towards what would be the best option for me. I ended up choosing the easy jig to finish up my AR 15 because I already have a router and that looked like the best option for me since I don't have space for a drill press. When they were helping me decide they even pulled up a fantastic YouTube video that walks you through the process step by step so I am very confident my lower will turn out amazing. HUGE thanks to the people that helped me on that. Next we started talking about accessories, they took the time to show my anything and everything I wanted to see. Most places you go, you get the vibe that the employees are annoyed by you asking to look at everything but not here! The girl showed me anything I wanted to see and she even seemed excited to show me different options that she has used on her builds. They have various mock up guns that have different things on them and they let me see every single one to hold it and see which one felt most comfortable to me. They have both options as far as California compliance, the new bullet buttons and the featureless builds. I decided to go featureless because they explained to me how with the new bullet button is a good option but should you have a malfunction to where you have to take the magazine out and clear it, there was no way it was going to happen since you have to take the gun apart to take the magazine out. I can't explain it on a yelp review but they can definitely show you in person. With featureless I'm able to still have my regular magazine release which I really like. Once I started asking about scopes she was very honest and said that she didn't have much experience with them but the other employee working there was able to show me different options and explain to me everything about the product he was showing me. I definitely didn't get the vibe that they didn't know what they were talking about and were just trying to say whatever they could to make a sale. I really appreciate that from people. They didn't talk to me any differently than if they were talking to a close friend and that made me feel extremely welcome. All I can say is check this place out! There is a reason they have so many great reviews and it's because they really take the time to help you with exactly what you need. I have had nothing but good experiences at this business. Both locations have a very helpful, respectful and knowledgeable staff who are always willing to help with any questions I may have and give me guidance on what to get in order to suit my needs for my builds. Brendon is super friendly, as well as Chris, Martin and Leia. They always make sure I leave with exactly what I want and need. They aren't lawyers but they have helped direct me to places where I can get current information on all the new laws that pertain to AR15's and what needs to be done to keep everything compliant. They make me feel like family here and I recommend them to all of my friends and family who want to build their own guns. Even if you don't want to go the 80% route they keep a very healthy stock of parts and accessories. I have gone in looking for a deent that I lost while putting together a lower and they had a whole shelf dedicated to single parts needed for people like me that lose things. Lol! They are the kind of people that will spend the time to break everything down and teach you whatever you need to know. I even walked in on the manager, Brandon giving a customer a detailed explanation of how to lube an AR 15 and everything needed to keep it running reliably. That's not something you see in every gun shop for sure. They really take the time to figure out how they can best help you. And if they don't know something they have no problem pointing you in the direction of someone who does, or writing down your email so they can take the time to send you website inks to exactly what you need. This place is great. I saw the sign driving by and decided to stop and check it out. I was looking for a present for my husband and this looked like a good place to start. Well, I ended up starting and finishing my shopping here!!! Brendon helped me. He was super helpful. I didn't know where to start. I didn't want to get something too expensive or too cheap, so he helped me find something right in my budget/range. I'd been looking for EO techs online but they seemed too expensive. Brendon introduced the EO tech 512 for $380! I looked online and these guys beat all the prices I could find, by at least $50 and they are a local store! Here's something funny, they opened their doors just yesterday, for the first time. Kudos guys, you just opened and already have a huge selection and are selling stuff at killer prices! This place specializes in 80% products, primarily for the AR-15 platforms. They also have a ton of Glock, 1911 and lr308/AR-10 stuff. Thanks for the help guys!! Been to plenty of chain stores with employees who can't even tell the difference between Federal and Sig-branded ammo. Not the case here. Brendon is super-knowledgeable and approachable, and I guarantee you'll learn something new/useful after talking with him. Overall one of the greatest firearms stores of all time. From their massive selection of supplies, extremely helpful staff, and glorious shitposts on Instagram, I would say this is easily my favorite store in the state, maybe even the country! And be sure to purchase a boogaloo blouse, it is super high quality and portrays the perfect message. read more
