Sorry excuse for a gun store. First off it's in the back of a collision store so when entering the establishment, it's very confusing. I was met with the "owner" who came out and asked what I needed. I told the owner I'd like to look at some firearms. I was met with, "let me eat first" in which I replied ok, no problem and sat on a couch. Then he said "you know, because people have to eat" as if I were interrupting his lunch break. I told him don't worry about it, eat your lunch, I'm in no hurry. The "owner" got up and said come on let's go. I told him never mind because he made me feel like I was burdening him and rushing him so I kindly left the store. I was looking for a new place to purchase guns, and just because this "owner" may have been hangry, he lost a customer. read more

I don't usually take time to write a review. I fact this is a first for me but this was not a small problem. I want to address the incredibly horrible experience I had with National Armament. I went there on a referral because I heard they had a Colt Gold Cup; it's very hard to get. As it turns out, they did not have one but could order one for me immediately. I went for it, gave them $1,200 cash (their insistence on cash) and I waited and waited and waited. As I said, it was "Very hard to get." So I expected to wait but several months later I decided to give up and asked for my money back. I was made an offer instead; one of the owners had a Gold Cup (registered but never fired) still in the box. They'd be willing to sell it to me with the understanding it technically was not new, it's already registered. I accepted the offer and waited and waited but nothing happened. I called about the wait and was told the gun was gone. They said, one of the shop owners (Johnny) pawned the gun! They offered to sell me something else instead, a Ruger model 10-22 rifle. Not an even trade by a longshot, besides I already have one. I asked for my money back and was given more bad news. They spent my deposit money and had nothing no money to give me. I was very upset, putting mildly, and gave them 2 weeks to come up with my money. Two weeks later, I got nothing. I gave them three weeks. Three weeks later I got nothing. Finally, I was told Johnny left the business in total disarray. They had NO MONEY, nothing to give. But they could get me something else, another 45 Cal. 1911 perhaps? I decided to cut my losses and settled for a Springfield. Not a Gold cup but better than a $1200 hole in my pocket. The Springfield is several hundred less than a Gold Cup. I got the Springfield but they did not have my change. Remember, they had no money anywhere. It took months to get my change and I had to hound them and hound them until I finally got it. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THESE GUYS. A guy at work asked me about these guys and I told him... "If my a$$ was actually on fire and they were selling buckets of water for a penny, I would not buy one from them!!!" This was the worst customer service experience EVER. Plus, spending a customer's deposit on who-knows-what is terribly unethical and probably illegal. Also, they claimed to beat Turner's prices, not so. Same price and Turners has tons of guns in stock, National has so little inventory, everything has to be ordered and that adds to your wait. Jorge R. read more

READ ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE WASTING YOUR TIME!!! I have been a longtime customer of National Armament. I used to enjoy doing purchases or transfers with Johnny and Cindo. They are unbelievable. They both make very honest opinions on what to buy and make the experiences fast and easy. I have done many transactions with them and have recommended to all my gun club friends and anyone I have met to use them. Local and very professional. I have spent a lot of money there and have sent a lot of business through San Diego rifle association, Cal Guns, NRA and Pala gun club. I always want to spend local and support local business's before going to bigger stores like Turners. Turners takes a little longer sometimes but Johnny and Cindo are so kick ass, its a no brainer. Since Johnny left, I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Jacie. He was not just rude to me and other customers, he talked down to me and the person I brought in to do the transfer with. He treated us like we were beneath him and belittled us in front of the other customers there making very rude comments and if it wasn't for my previous experience with Cindo, I would have taken my purchase and transfers to Turners. After the 10 day wait I went to pick up and all the customers that were there said the same thing. Jacie treated them like crap and if they didn't already start the process they would have gone elsewhere. Take my advise, DO NOT GO HERE. You do not want to support someone that thinks his customers are beneath them. There are other local gun stores but I would prefer to stay in line at Turners for 5 hours than get treated like this from the owner. Besides the flaky hours, he shows up close to hours posted and leaves when he feels like, You spend longer waiting for him to show than if you just went to Turners let alone they treat you respectable at Turners unlike National Armament. If you get lucky and go only when Cindo is there, you are still giving money to a guy that treats people like crap, don't do it. read more

Love this gun shop!! The owner johnny is a really good guy. He's friendly, patient and willing to answer any and all of your questions. This is a great place for someone inexperienced with firearms to go, he will help you figure it out and point you in the right direction. I recently went there looking for a pistol that was sold out everywhere, he didn't have it either but ordered it for me at a price that was less than the other sellers had quoted me.
