Love the brisket and the Coachella apple salad!! I tried the lemon cheesecake also, very delicious!!

Fire & Smoke BBQ is exactly what Cedar City has been waiting for. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Isabel, who took our order and handled the register, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The food was excellent across the board, but the BBQ beans deserve a special mention. They have a rich smoky flavor and just the right amount of seasoning without being overly sweet like so many BBQ places tend to make them. You can tell the recipes were developed by people who understand barbecue. One of the highlights of our visit was when the owner personally came by our table to introduce himself and say hello. That simple gesture speaks volumes about the pride and care they put into both their food and their customers. The prices were fair, the portions were generous, and the quality exceeded expectations. Cedar City has seen several BBQ restaurants come and go over the years, but Fire & Smoke BBQ finally hit it out of the park. This is the place we've been waiting for. Located in the historic Old building on the corner of 56 and Main, Fire & Smoke BBQ has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat in town. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back. read more

Fire + Smoke BBQ - Front Entrance - Barbeque Near Me - Cedar City, Utah

I would definitely put this spot as a favorite in Cedar. The Brisket is tender and juicy and the ribs fall off the bone. I do have one CON though, I have been here now 4 times and EVERY-TIME I have sides or even a whole meal missing from my order. It is the biggest disappointment when you drive 30 min home and have food missing. I call and the young adults working say you can come back, how about no! You can delivery your mess up. Sooooo my advice is to triple check your order as I do now. That way you force them to do their job correctly and can be fixed in real time. read more

As someone from Texas this was actually REALLY good! The brisket, ribs, and Mac were spot on. We got our food to go and the staff were so friendly and quick to serve us. 10/10 recommend read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. Craving some bbq and checked what was around. From the moment I walked in everything said down home cookout. The smell of smoked meats, the look of an old barn, warm and cozy, it was perfect. The woman that took our order listened to us debating what to get and offered a combo that not only satisfied everything we wanted, but also saved us money. We got the brisket, turkey, and pulled pork along with the cheesy potatoes and Mac & cheese. Everything was perfect! read more

Absolutely loved Fire & Smoke BBQ! The food was SO good!!! full of flavor and cooked perfectly. But what really made the experience even better was how incredibly sweet and friendly everyone was. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. Great food, great people, and such a welcoming atmosphere. read more

The BBQ is good. The ribs were a bit dry. I would recommend that you reheat the ribs in a sous vide to rehydrate before throwing them on the fire. You can also look toward a day long brine bath before the initial baking. The brisket was two slices. One that was a little dry and the other one melted in your mouth like butter. They have three sauces which are all very tasty and it makes it fun to mix and match the sauces with the meats. The sides need a bit of work. Salt is your friend. Don't be afraid to kick it up. You don't want to taste it, but, without enough in the food falls flat in flavor. And right now, you are falling flat. The slaw was too fresh. It was too crispy and it hasn't absorbed enough of the flavors or wilted enough to be pleasant to eat. It also cuts the bitterness. Make certain you are using a good heavy duty mayo. It will stick to the slaw better. Right now it was too flat and runny. The celery seeds are a nice touch. The beans are great, but, it needs a bit more salt. Also, maybe a dash of Worcester sauce. The corn was... interesting. The roasting process sucks out much of the moisture. You can reheat in a butter sous vide which will add moisture and flavor. I would ask if people want all of these sides. The pickles, jalapeños and pickled onion went to waste. It's nice, but, save yourself the wasted food by simply asking. This was my first time, so I did appreciate it. In the future, though, I'll hand them back instead of throwing them away. The restaurant can really use more soft materials. Things like plants, and booths. This will make it less of a warehouse feel and it will reduce noise and make the dining experience more intimate. Your water barrel is really cool. Keep that! BBQ places are infamous for their desserts. I would recommend some daily cobblers, strawberry cake and maybe a nice carrot cake. You also can sell corn bread. There are a number of opportunities to dial in your restaurant. Right now it's very vanilla. Heck, maybe serve Apple Dumplings. But you want to carve a lane and create your own signature items. That is what brings people back! read more

New BBQ open in Cedar. The place is clean and bright, which is inviting. You order at the counter and they bring out your order to you. The amount of food for the cost didn't measure up for me. The meats are done fairly well. Pulled pork is often overrated, but I was really impressed by theirs. The backwoods beans are not baked beans. Be prepared :). Coleslaw was average and heavy on the celery seed. The bbq sauces are also different. The garnishes that they served with the meats were awesome. Pickled onions, pickled cabbage/peppers, and pickles. Those garnishes with a bite of the pulled pork were the highlight for me! read more

We always get lean brisket but I go for the Mac and cheese! Great atmosphere and service

Amazing brisket red sausage and ribs. Skip the sides and they give you more meat! For $27 I got everything in the photo on the right. My wife got the one meat with one side very reasonable price! 10/10 will be back read more

Fire + Smoke BBQ - 1 meat and 1 side & 3 meat no sides (1/4 meat x3 if no sides) - Barbeque Near Me - Cedar City, Utah

OMG!!! Native Texan here to tell you these folks are doing Texas BBQ right! NEVER in my 60+ years of life have I ever had Texas style BBQ anywhere outside Texas that was like home. I have also NEVER ordered a meal to go for myself when I was stuffed and just couldn't bear not having the same thing for dinner! I did today! They just opened a few days ago. Owners were both on site and they KNOW Texas BBQ down to the slice of white bread with your meal and perfect sausage direct from Texas. The whole family had perfect Texas manners and were delightfully hospitable We tried brisket, mild pepper sausage, and pork-all were excellent. I mean truly exceptional! For sides we had the cheesy potatoes (omg! Perfectly seasoned throughout-which is rare in my experience), Mac & Cheese (just like I make at home-the real cream makes ALL the difference), and the fire roasted jalapeño corn (we appreciate that it was fresh corn-not canned-but this one fell short for us both. Not bad at all and better than you will get elsewhere, but we got no hint of jalapeño and felt it was slightly "watery") As for sauce, we tried them all but would tell you good BBQ don't need no silly sauce on it. That being said we liked the mustard version best-which surprised us both! The "house" and "spicy" didn't add to the meal, but like I said good BBQ doesn't need sauce and this was not just good but excellent-and you may have noticed I can be a little bit picky about stuff. If I could give them 6 stars I would. I will just have to say this is one of the best eating experiences I have had in Utah and hands down the best in Cedar City! read more

It smells amazing when you walk in.. We highly recommend the brisket, the ribs, and the pulled pork. Everything was very tasty, and the prices were reasonable. I also liked the champagne vinaigrette for the side salad. I will be back in a couple of months for Shakespeare festival, and you can bet I will be coming here. read more

We hit this spot at 10 minutes till closing so if you're dead set on every item being available to you definitely don't do that. That being said everything that we tried was delicious the brisket was tender the jalapeño corn was flavorful and the barbecue sauces were tasty. We were warned that they were sold out of the cheesy potatoes and mac & cheese so I'm guessing those must be popular but definitely worth a stop if you want yummy barbecue. Lots of nice outdoor seating and fairly close to the center of town. read more

Great new spot in downtown Cedar City. The food is absolutely delicious and perfectly tender. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeño sausage, and every item was spot on--excellent flavor and cooked just right. It's great to finally have another solid option serving up high-quality barbecue in Cedar City. Definitely worth checking out if you're downtown. AMAZING SERVICE , AMAZING PEOPLE read more

Sometime you come across a place which feels like home and the holidays rolled into one. Warm, inviting, clean, cute with people who smile and want you to have a memorable time. We had the brisket and ribs. I mentioned brisket could be tough but our server corrected me and said I think you'll find ours isn't. He was absolutely right. The meat fell off the bone, the brisket was tender, it fell apart in my mouth. Tana, I hope I spelt her name correctly - the owner - came to check on us. She obviously knows how to put a wonderful gathering place together. Perfect place for large gatherings to cozy up with friends. Perfect place to cozy up with a loved one too. wishing this place every success in world. read more

Fire + Smoke BBQ - 1/2 lb Brisket 1/2 lb Ribs Coleslaw, Mac&Cheese. - Barbeque Near Me - Cedar City, Utah

The barbecue at Fire & Smoke is very good. We have eaten here multiple times. I called my order in ahead of time because the restaurant is only open certain days and often gets busy. They estimated 10-15 minutes for pickup. When I arrived (having waited the 15 min. or so) there was no separate pickup area, so I waited in the same long line as dine-in customers. Staff appeared busy and at one point said they were not ignoring the line, though attention was primarily on wiping tables and answering phone orders. I then went to the kitchen window and asked if there was an order ready for me and they did have it in a warmer so it had been sitting there for some time in a separate warmer. The food itself was excellent, but including the possible extra wait time in the estimated pickup window, or adding a dedicated pickup spot, would improve the takeout experience." read more

My son and I dropped in while we were in town and we were very pleasantly surprised!!! The restaurant is small but the food is AMAZING. We had a brisket, pulled pork and Mac n cheese. My son never eats meat and when he tasted the brisket he was immediately in LOVE! I went to cut it with a knife and it just fell apart. It was so tender and juicy and the flavor bursts in your mouth. The pulled pork was fantastic and so was the Mac n cheese! They have original, spicy and mustard BBQ sauce but there really is no need for any sauces. The place was clean, organized and the staff were awesome!!! Thank you for a great dinner!!! read more

The food is delicious and the service very good. We had brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. The nachos are yummy, too! It is fun to have the restaurant in the train depot. read more

The food is excellent but I have 2 major knocks on this place. Portion size is 4 oz per meat. Minus bones and fat, you are probably going to get 5-6 oz of meat with a two protein tray. That tray with tax is 20 bucks for a few ounces of beef. My second knock is that they Jones you for a tip on the front end. There are no wait staff- so you are tipping for nothing. Nobody comes and checks on you once they deliver you food. I really want to like this place because the food is good- but I left here still hungry after blowing 50 bucks. read more

These people claim the food to be "Texas BBQ". As a native Texan, I can attest that it is NOT! In addition, it is not Texas sized portions. Two - 6" pieces of brisket on a $15 plate! Again, as a life long Texan, smoking and eating my own meat, this is quite possibly the worst I've ever tried. read more

Amazing food and amazing owners. I eat here multiple times a week since they've opened. Never a bad meal. If you are a large volume eater, then buy a bigger plate, many times I break my plate into two meals, so it's def not a small amount of food. read more

If there's BBQ in heaven, I'd imagine it tastes like this. Everything was on point. Perfect amount of smoke, tenderness & flavor on our ribs & brisket. Only thing that could have complimented an already heavenly BBQ dinner would be a beer to wash it down with. read more

This place is worth the out of the way drive. We ate on our way to Iowa, then stopped again on the way home from Iowa.

The absolute best Texas style bbq that I have eaten since leaving Texas. Tender, well smoked brisket, tasty pulled pork with a nice selection of sides. And friendly, fast service. And in the historic Depot. Perfect ambiance. read more

We stopped in yesterday craving some good BBQ, and they exceeded expectations! First off Kyan greeted us and began to explain their process of salt and pepper only on the meat during smoking, with sauces available for adding afterwards. He went over each item on the menu with knowledge and enthusiasm. We chose the St. Louis style ribs that were cooked/smoked to perfection, and the Raider red sausage which was not tough or fatty just yummy! Our sides were coleslaw which was unusual with a vinegar and mayonnaise dressing with celery seed and was pleasantly crunchy. The backwoods beans were delicious and cooked just right. Gram's cheesy potatoes were heavenly, not over or undercooked, just decadent! We also shared the Southwest Salad we enjoyed with smoked turkey on it. The garnishes were chowchow which was yummy, and pickled red onions! The portions were plenty for us to share. We enjoyed talking with the owner Mike and our only regret is that we live 500 miles away! Great people, excellent service and delicious food, definitely the trifecta in dining out! read more

Freaking delicious. Brisket is fire! Turkey is moist. And kids chicken tenders are gluten free and amazing. Super nice owner. Highly recommend this BBQ joint..I forgot to snap a photo. read more

We arrived after lunch and before dinner rush and were the only two customers in the place. Happily greeted by the friendly young lady behind the counter, she was happy to answer all of our questions while we decided. This old Building looks like it may have had several other incarnations over the decades but has been very nicely renovated to accommodated this holy house of meat. Very clean and well maintained. We selected the 3 meats, brisket, turkey and pulled pork with 2 sides, Mac and cheese and cole slaw. Mac and cheese was thick, creamy and delicious. Cole slaw was crunchy and bright, very nice. The absolute BEST BBQ I have ever had in a restaurant, food truck or any place else. Texas style pit bbq is such a special cooking process that truly requires the dedication of a Chef that understands this and is not willing to compromise. This place is doing all of it right! Sauces, 3 to choose from, House, spicy and mustard. sides, strong accomplices to the meat. And the Meat! OMG THE MEAT! The pulled pork was shredded perfectly and so good. Turkey was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The brisket was so tender we could literally cut it with a plastic fork. It was impossible for me to take a bite of brisket without involuntarily, "MmMmmmmmmmm, so good". I was so very happy, honored, to be able to meet the Chef/owner/operator/smoker, unloading from a catering job he was just returning from as we were leaving. It was my pleasure to shake the hand of the Man that has done such wonderfully delicious things with smoke and meat. read more

Food was okay but pricey for what you get. Ambiance isn't much. After hearing so much good about the Fire + Smoke in Kannarville, which we haven't tried, we were a little disappointed when we tried the one in Cedar City. If 3.5 stars was an option that would be my rating. read more

Just tried the Fire + Smoke BBQ in Cedar City (255 N. Main, Cedar City, UT, not Kanarraville) and it is EXCELLENT. Even though i was born in Houston, TX, I was raised elsewhere so I don't claim to be an expert on "Texas BBQ". BUT I am very knowledgeable and particular about the quality of meat and the meal I had today was superb. I had the "Three Protein" plate and selected brisket, pulled pork and the spicy sausage and all three were really excellent quality. I couldn't begin to finish it so I took home 2/3 of what I ordered and am covered for two more meals! I only tried two of their sauces: House BBQ and Mustard BBQ and both were very good. I liked the jalapeño corn and loved their baked beans. I did order Grandma's Cheesy Potatoes as my second side but I think Grandma's Cheesy Potatoes may be an acquired taste that I haven't yet acquired. The baked beans were great. In fact, I kept dipping the jalapeño sausage slices in the baked bean sauce--it's that great. Anyway, glad to have tried this restaurant and only wish I'd tried it sooner because I've been here for a week but I'm heading back home tomorrow. Also, the hostess/server was very nice. Highly recommend Fire+ Smoke. read more
