Big Hammock Brewery is NOT a BREWERY, nor is it a big hammock. What it is, is a brew pub with what…read morelooked like some scrumptious food. Unfortunately for me I was looking for a brewery experience and Big Hammock is not that. They do have a good amount of local craft beers on tap which is a definite plus. They just didn't have any of their own beer. Maybe they are brewing, but if they are not, they should change the brewery in their name to brew pub because the name is definitely misleading. It is really awkward making this review, because I really did not get the full experience. I walked in, looked around, checked out the beer menu, asked if they had any of their own beers. When that answer was "no" I left. The end.

It was packed when we were there, but we were able to find 2 seats at the bar, which was perfect. We got to watch the short order magic happening in that tiny kitchen. Because we got to watch the food prep, we ended up ordering several dishes to split. I'd call it Asian fusion. We had a ramen bowl, some bao buns. It's a nice vibe. Murals on the wall, and doors that roll up for inside/outside service when the weather is nice. They do offer food takeout, so if you can't find a seat, have a beer while they put your food together to eat at home.

The stuffed biscuit caught my eye and I can not recommend it enough. Gravy could use a slight bit more black pepper for my taste, but the biscuit was tender while still holding up to the flavorful sausage and egg in the middle.

Midtown Station Sipping Grounds Coffee.Bites.Sips…read more I love to try new coffee shops being a coffee and early morning person this is important to me. I just love finding places that have a great vibe, good service and where I can feel comfortable and relaxed if I want to just sit and let myself breathe. For me this is often after an early morning workout so if you are one at 7am I'm very happy. I had passed by this place before when going to Tucsawilla Park which is directly across the street! That is a plus already because after you eat you may go enjoy a nice walk in the park and watch the ducks in the pond or go play Tennis if you'd like. Okay let's talk about "Midtown Station" this place is more than it lets on. There is ample parking for one so that's a bonus. You can sit outside and enjoy your breakfast if you'd like there are a few tables right outside and it's really quite lovely. When you go in there is a couple of places where you can sit comfortably and just relax as it's very quiet and feels so cozy. There are plants, games and very comfortable chairs and places to sit. Pillows and the most adorable decor that you'd think you were at home if it wasn't in such a large building. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, willing to make and create your order to your specifications. They have a pretty large variety of things you can have from breakfast to lunch, coffees of all kinds, smoothies, matcha, lotus energy drinks, ice teas, Arnold Palmer and so much more! The food variety is fabulous ! I haven't seen this much variety in a place that basically open from 7-3 Monday through Thursday, Friday 7-3:30, Saturdays 8-3:30 and Sundays from 8-3 doing breakfast and lunch it seriously surprised me. There are breakfast bites, pastries, sub sandwiches, salads or wraps, sandwiches, Wayne's pasta salad plate ( now I'm curious lol ) , Tapas that looked incredible and build your own breakfast! I mean what more can you ask for! The interesting thing about this place is that in the back it's a whole other place that opens at 11:am Tuesday through Saturday and offers other foods and drinks! I must go back a do a review to find out more. There is huge indoor and outdoor sitting area to enjoy your time too! I highly recommend that on a beautiful Ocala day or if you happen to be passing by stop by and say hello. You will be very happy that you did, I know I will be going back to this little piece of heaven! My breakfast biscuits and gravy delicious and fresh! I brought home to my son bacon egg and cheese on toasted sourdough. Needless to say he thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I also brought home these two amazing cookies and I'm eating the chocolate chip one now while finishing my coffee and it's absolutely phenomenal. Great job Sipping Grounds at Midtown Station you guys are awesome!

Needless to say…read morewhen I arrived at 6pm I was told the festival sold out at 2pm that day even though the event was advertised as being from 11-9pm. so I decided to sit at the bar and have a drink. First I was in line behind someone being help at the register on the other end of the bar. The waitress helped the gentleman and then left the register as if she was handling some other things behind the bar, never returning to take my order, even passing by me several times. Taking orders around the bar. Then A young couple walked up behind me and were helped by the gentleman behind the bar, I assumed he had been helping them before because they were discussing how much alcohol was in a particular beer and weather or not the underage young women could legal drink it based on the alcohol , Now I'm still standing there, yet no one asked to take my order or if I needed anything! Two people finish eating and left so I took one of the seats at the end of the bar beside where I was standing . I watched while the lady lady bartender finished her shift and left and another bartender took her place, upon staring her shift she went straight to help the large group of gentleman at the bar with drinks, so I told myself maybe they have been waiting just as long as I have , yet when she finished with their drinks she walked right past me sitting there with a menu in hand! The final straw was seeing the gentleman with the beard come and take orders from two groups of people standing right beside me , where I previously was and he never attempted to take my order! I won't even mention me looking up and catching a a gentleman staring at me, like literally hard staring at me!! I don't like to make assumptions however I can only assume I was not a welcome sight in this establishment due to me being a black woman!!! I'm in Ocala for a travel assignment and I can say experiencing something like I did at this place yesterday tells me all I need to know about this area! To all my brown people stay clear of this establishment I've included pictures so there is no confusion about the individuals!

I love the vibe, what a great place to meet friends and hang out. The huge hall also offers food while the brewery is the center point with the bar wrapping all the way around the tabs in the center. There's a beautiful outdoor deck with a view of a lake. The only drawback for me was that I love to enjoy my tasty craft beer, and it was hard to dodge the cigarette smoke. Even though the patio is huge, it is covered so the smoke gets trapped. One smoker polluted the entire patio. It was a beautiful day, but we had to go inside. As a non-smoker I do wish the patio was smoke-free.

The ambiance reminds one of an old-time speak-easy, low key but extremely pleasant. The drinks were amazing! The owner makes his own wine and distills his own spirits! The food (which is prepared at the Pine Street Pub) was fantastic, and the line dancing was just plain fun!!! I had wine and an old-fashioned and both were just lovely. For dinner, I had a Waldorf salad and it was very fresh and wonderful. And then there was the line dancing! The instructor, who reviewed every line dance before we performed it, is exceptionally good. She played music beyond the 6 to 7 hour that was advertised for the line dancing. The people who participated were very welcoming and friendly. The whole evening was memorable. Had I not gone for the line dancing, I would not have known about this amazing distillery in downtown Inverness! The outside area is spacious and a great place to hang out and drink a beer. Just a really nice setup with a laid-back vibe. Their Honey Bee Citrus Blonde Ale was the highlight for me. Parking was a breeze, and we arrived right at event start. The beer was fantastic, and mine even contained honey! Colby got the sugar and spice, and he loved it, and says it was "verrrrry good."
