Each opportunity to make the Villages better fails on its face leaving the Villages in the dust for what younger sophisticated homeowners want in a neighborhood - unless you are catering to the Central Florida locals who love their fried gator bites. First I was in line behind someone being help at the register on the other end of the bar. The waitress helped the gentleman and then left the register as if she was handling some other things behind the bar, never returning to take my order, even passing by me several times. Taking orders around the bar. Then A young couple walked up behind me and were helped by the gentleman behind the bar, I assumed he had been helping them before because they were discussing how much alcohol was in a particular beer and weather or not the underage young women could legal drink it based on the alcohol , Now I'm still standing there, yet no one asked to take my order or if I needed anything! Two people finish eating and left so I took one of the seats at the end of the bar beside where I was standing . I watched while the lady lady bartender finished her shift and left and another bartender took her place, upon staring her shift she went straight to help the large group of gentleman at the bar with drinks, so I told myself maybe they have been waiting just as long as I have , yet when she finished with their drinks she walked right past me sitting there with a menu in hand! The final straw was seeing the gentleman with the beard come and take orders from two groups of people standing right beside me , where I previously was and he never attempted to take my order! I won't even mention me looking up and catching a a gentleman staring at me, like literally hard staring at me!! I don't like to make assumptions however I can only assume I was not a welcome sight in this establishment due to me being a black woman!!! I'm in Ocala for a travel assignment and I can say experiencing something like I did at this place yesterday tells me all I need to know about this area! I like the concept, but this location does not seem optimal and the limited amount of their own beer on tap was disappointing. Still a cool spot. Hope the business picks up. We were here on Saturday around 5:00 pm. I would imagine they get busier in the evening, but they close at 10pm on a Saturday night so well, there is that.

The food was not remarkable, it was, I believe, called a beef au jus on a hogey bun...with fries..just so-so, but the service was great, the waiters and waitresses very available and accommodating. The live music was nice, the chairs were very uncomfortable for the couple of hours we were there. I will return however, because I enjoyed the music, the service people and the company I was with.

OMG -- what an absolute joke. Hands‑down the worst experience I've ever had with a staff…read more I stood at the bar and watched the bartender serve everyone around me -- regulars she clearly knew -- while completely ignoring me, a first‑timer. After far too long, I finally got a drink and sat near the regulars. They were great, actually. They even asked, "What took you so long?" and joked that next time they'd get my drink because they watched the staff hand out free refills to their friends while I stood there waiting. Then I went to watch the band at halftime of the game I came for. And let me say -- I book bands for events, and this band was fantastic. I took a quick video to send to my team. Suddenly the manager walks right in front of my camera. Fine, whatever. I stop recording. I try again later just to see if she was targeting me -- and yep, she steps in again. Here's the ironic, hypocritical part: moments later, one of her friends sees two couples taking a photo at a table and the manager watched as her friend happily walks over to offer to take the picture for them. So I stepped up and said, "No, wait -- shouldn't you ask everyone in the background for permission first?" Because that was her whole issue with me filming the band. Meanwhile her buddies are taking photos and getting free drinks like it's nothing. When I went back to close my tab, I stood at the bar AGAIN while the staff ignored me all over again. What a joke. My first and last time there. And I will absolutely never recommend this place to anyone -- not my church community, not my friends, not my soccer club, not my running group, and definitely not my company.
