Really appreciated Rob's expertise and commitment to doing excellent, thorough work. Would recommend.

Rob was great! Came out sooner than expected and super quick and friendly. Price very reasonable too

Service was great! I had to wait a little to get an appointment set up but everything was done through text and once that was set up it was a smooth process. They arrived earlier than promised (which I appreciated) and made sure to call me before arriving so that was ok. Both guys wore masks the whole time and kept the area clean while working. Gave me info about our fireplace and chimney and how to use our fireplace and what to look out for in the future. I would definitely call again for a sweep or inspection. Thanks! read more

Used the company in 2021, and had no issues- They were very informative and did good job with the sweep. Fast forward to 2022, called and scheduled an appointment, received a follow up text to confirm date/time. Was contacted via text in the morning 30mins before scheduled appointment saying there was an emergency and they had to reschedule. Not a problem, so I rescheduled. They no showed to the rescheduled appointment on 4/11, I messaged them and they apologized for the calendar error. I understand things like that can happen so I scheduled another appointment for 4/25 and what do you know another no-show. This time there has been no response as I contacted the company and have not heard back. Extremely unprofessional! read more

Rob and his crew did a fantastic job on our chimney rebuild! We had to have the clay tiles on the inside replaced, the damper replaced, the liner replaced, substantial parging, and a complete rebuild of the chimney from the roofline up. Throughout the process, Rob explained what his team would be doing and why and made sure to answer all of our questions. The Fire It Up team were extremely thorough and professional and their prices are highly competitive. Rob even went the extra mile of going to far-flung locales to find a match for our 70+ year old brick. Even I can't tell the difference between the new brick and the old. We would definitely use Fire It Up again! read more

Rob came out for an estimate. He was quick and efficient. We booked an appointment for the repair. He ended up having availability a day earlier, which worked for us. His guys were professional, clean and quick. They quickly set up for the repair, explained what they were doing, and then made the repair. They identified another potential problem and were able to quickly repair that, as well. They were very nice, and cleaned up after themselves. The job came in exactly as estimated. I requested a quote for dryer vent cleaning and Rob returned my call very promptly. He explained the cleaning process in detail and gave me an estimate over the phone. It took a little while to schedule the actual service due to unusually rainy weather. Once here, Rob and his helper set to work immediately. They did a very thorough job and pulled an embarrassing amount of thick gray lint from the dryer vent. They cleaned up after themselves and put everything back in place. Would recommend. read more

I reached out during the height of the Chicago winter during snow season with a broken damper and in need of a general inspection and cleaning. The team was able to get my inspection scheduled, parts ordered and completely installed in under a month during a very snowy and cold winter. I was pleased how the needed changes were explained (general tuck pointing, some new products, etc). The price was broken out and felt reasonable for the work done. I felt the team was respectful of the property and willing to climb a 40 foot ladder to access my chimney in the winter. read more

I had a leak in my basement around the chimney and had a few chimney repair services give me quotes. Fire it up was the only one to say they thought the leak could be repaired by a few chimney repairs. They came and fixed the chimney during an unexpected cold snap last fall. I felt so bad about the weather but they did a great job! We didn't get any real rain after that point but we're in rainy season now and the repair really helped keep my basement dry! I highly recommend them! read more

Rob treated my chimney and fireplace like he was working on his own home. He always took pictures of the problems, clearly explained the work that needed to be performed, and then took pictures after the work was done to show how things were fixed. My 25 year old chimney had problems, but now it is like brand new chimney. Actually better, Rob recommended some energy efficient changes to the old fashioned damper, and the new setup is clearly much better. Could not be more pleased with the quality of work. read more

We clean our dryer lint filter after every load, but recently the dryer started taking longer to dry a load, and it failed to collect any lint. Not knowing anything about dryer duct cleaning, I did a little research as to whom to call and what it might cost, then found three recommended companies in my area. Rob, the owner of Fire It Up, called back so fast I was surprised when the phone rang, gave me a price at the low end of what I thought I might have to pay, and we set up a time (one of the others called a few days later, and the third never called). Rob gave us a two hour window for when he would be there, called when he was on his way, answered my questions, cleaned the duct and an area in the dryer near the filter, and checked the system. We're keeping his number handy, especially since he has other experience of use to a homeowner. read more
