We have ordered Take Out dinners twice in the last four months from this place. My wife and daughters enjoy the pulled pork and I love the rack of ribs. Also preferred the catfish plate. Just ate at Fire it up bbq. The brisket & pork were very good. However, that's where it ends. I went with the half pound combo so that I could have ribs. Guess what... they were out of ribs. It was only 7:15 pm so idk why they would be out. All of the sides we got were bland & had no flavor at all. The jalapeño corn bread was hard, cold & no flavor. The best side was probably the baked beans but they had a mixture of different beans with jalapeños. Potato salad should be creamy not dry. Maybe add some mustard, celery seed or mayo. The slaw was fair, nothing special. The bathroom door opens in & bangs into the toilet so you cannot get in. The other stall was occupied. Our bill came to $43 for the two of us. This was one of our crazy experiences. We were driving up I-75 in Georgia and saw this sign for BBQ. We got off the exit but the area and restaurant looked a little iffy... we didn't know if it was a place where "we" would be welcome. However, after sending a picture and text to our daughter about where we are if turned up missing, we decided to go inside. OMG! The environment was nothing that we expected. The owners and servers were SUPER nice! The menu and food was SO GOOD!!!!! They have the coolest menu and we both decided to try the sampler. Four different meats, two sides, and cornbread muffin. OK location and clean restrooms but not a good experience overall. The all-female staff openly flirted with my male friend I went with and looked at me with open disgust because I don't weigh 250 lbs. Stopped on a Sunday afternoon during our trip up to Nashville. The staff was so sweet and courteous. They all were so kind and made sure we were able to try all the meats we wanted prior to ordering. There were 5 of us in our group. Several ordered the beef brisket sandwich, and others ordered the rib sandwich. We had several of the the sides, such as: fries, smoked baked beans, Mac-n-cheese, Brunswick stew, and the potato salad. ALL of which were incredibly good! This is definitely a great choice for BBQ in Cartersville area. When you arrive you are served cafeteria style, standing in line selecting and being served as you go. I'll give you one reason you should come here: the BBQ potato! Oh my goodness, if I closed my eyes I might think I was back at Big Bob's in Decatur, AL! Okay....I'm real confused. We took a chance because it had 4.5 stars and a ton of positive reviews. I went in with moderate to high expectations and WOW was I disappointed. Just skip it, y'all. If you want fresh, delicious food, decently sized portions for the money, and good service, you will not find it here. If you want over-priced, mostly empty plates of gack, then this is your place. I got ribs. My partner got brisket. Both meats were dry as bones. Not sure how anyone can manage to toughen and dry out ribs, but they've figured it out here. Not to mention they were the tiniest little ribs I've ever see. Honestly, eating the rib bones may have been more pleasant than the meat. My okra was luke warm. I love the idea of bacon and blue cheese potato salad, but this was not well executed. The texture of the potatoes was weird....off. Most everything is self serve. The woman who brought our plates out threw them lightly on the table and said sorry for the wait after she had already looked away and started moving on. We were one of 5 occupied tables in the restaurant. The 3 positive things I can say is the coke fountain was operational and put out some fire co cola, the hot bbq sauce (which I just dipped my finger into once because the meat wasn't worth eating) was tasty, and the young lady at the register was friendly. Everything I have tried here has been great. There are quite a few BBQ places in Cartersville and this one is the best. They also have a food safety score of 100A which is very important to me and shows that they care about keeping a clean environment for their customers.
