My wife and I recently worked with Clark County General Contracting to repair our bathroom after…read morediscovering water damage. Darrell, the owner, and his worker Nate were fantastic from start to finish. We originally noticed a bump in the bathroom floor that turned out to be a moisture issue. A mitigation company came in to remove the damaged flooring and toilet and dry everything out. After that, we started collecting quotes from contractors--and chose Darrell because he was by far the most straightforward and transparent. He took the time to explain everything clearly, gave us a fair quote, and didn't sugarcoat anything. Once we agreed to move forward, Darrell even handled communication with our insurance company and got the project covered. That alone was a huge help. The work itself turned out great. Darrell and Nate installed new subflooring, laminate that we picked out, and new baseboards. After the job was done, we did notice a couple of minor issues--one with the baseboard seal and another with the threshold transition that my wife wasn't happy with. Darrell came back out promptly and made sure both were addressed to our satisfaction. I've included some photos of the bathroom after mitigation and the finished result--the difference speaks for itself. Great company, easy to work with, and reliable. We're already considering another bathroom remodel, and we'll absolutely be going with Darrell again.

That and our comfort with Darrell made our choice easy. We made some big changes to our second story deck, so it took some time for a structural engineer to get plans in place but, the final product was well worth the wait. Darrell and Ed worked to make sure our deck was sturdy and well built. We now have an extended deck with awning that actually comes from above the roof line. The difference is night and day and we are thrilled with our new deck!

He was able to find the issue within 10 minutes and sealed off the area in 20 min. He found there were other areas on our roof that could use some preventative care. He later supplied a reasonable quote and offered to come back the following morning. We had other options but knew we would go with him. The job was finished the next day in about an hr. Leak is gone, and roof is further reinforced. The weather this week in particular has been a cold, windy, and wet one. There was even a light dusting of snow the night before Victor came to work on our roof. We appreciated his proactiveness, and friendly demeanor in our situation. I'd recommend him to any of my neighbors who may have similar issues.

Based on that experience, hired them to fix a gutter slope issue (full replacement) as well as replace a skylight which was leaking subsequent their roofing work (they did not take responsibility for it even though I think they should have minimally flagged it as an issue). Skylight and gutter replacement workmanship both had issues and had to be redone/reworked (they spotted the skylight issue, I spotted the gutter issues--thankfully it rained shortly after so I was able to spot the problems early). I paid them in April and called explicitly in July to verify the payment status when I spotted an irregularity in my account balance. I asked them to confirm that they had received the check, that it had cleared, and that the account was settled. They confirmed that it was, and I asked if they were sure and they said they were. Fast forward to October and now they've reached out to say that the account is no longer settled, the check was never deposited, and they're asking for payment again. At this point there is no budget for this, as I was assured this was resolved and cleared months ago. Really disappointed.

I am an architect and owner of a 1906 Craftsman home which I'm slowly modernizing into being more…read morecomfortable and an investment for the future. I was pleased to discover Green Energy Solutions through the Energy Trust of Oregon's Clean Energy Works program in Portland, Oregon. My house is 2000sf and previously had no insulation. This lead to lots of temperature differential throughout the levels and rooms as well as drafts and extremely high heating and cooling costs. In the coldest months our heating electric bills would peak at around $400 a month! The house had no central cooling and the upper floor would at times be as warm as 90 degrees! NOT acceptable!! My project manager from Green Energy Solutions was Ernesto Melo. I appreciate how he listened and worked through some of the trickier insulation areas. Now that the install is complete, I am delighted with the consistent temperatures throughout the house. The monthly electric heating bill is now about 25% the previous amount. After all the years since 1906, my house is finally dressed appropriately to be outside! Thanks to Central Air (HVAC), Green Energy Solutions (Insulators), Clean Energy Works, Energy Trust of Oregon, and Mitsubishi. I am a very happy customer and will use this team again as well as recommend them on my future residential design work.

Don't let the few reviews scare you away. This is a new business!…read more I want to start by saying that the house hadn't been cleanred in a while due to an injury I sustained that put me in a wheelchair since August. With two floors, three dogs, a cat, and my being unable to do more than wipe a sink or counter, it got bad... I mean embarrassingly bad... Yelp gave me the option of sending a quote request to 5 different cleaning services, and Broomed was one of three that replied. From the first communication, Eduardo was clear about how his teams worked, the costs and more. The two team members assigned to clean the house showed up on time and were very thorough. They were friendly and deliberate with each aspect of cleaning a room before moving on to the next. They wore masks the entire time and kept socially distant. Even more, they were incredibly considerate of me being in a wheelchair, leaving plenty of space for me to navigate from one area of the ground floor to another as needed. Eduardo came to check in on the team and my satisfaction with their progress. I let him know that I'd like for them to come back, and am looking at the calendar to figure out when I need them again. Give Eduardo and Broomed Cleaning a call. You'll be glad you did!

We do not recommend Biodynamic. While the technicians on site were competent and professional, the…read moremanagement failed us. Our project manager and office assistant working on our project both left the company at the start of our job. On day 4, a new project manager arrived, shut the job down and instructed the technicians to pack everything up, leaving us with no drying or air cleaning equipment. Their explanation: they were "unprepared to continue". The Techs had already uncovered mold and were removing additional drywall to determine the extent. Only after we expressed concern for letting the project sit, was there an effort to follow up with us sooner than the timeframe they suggested we speak again, which was 4 days later. They subsequently told us we needed a structural contractor to continue. After discussions with insurance, and to no avail, trying for weeks to get documentation of the work completed from Biodynamic along with invoicing, we hired a different remediator. We now know what really was possible from start to finish, what really needed to happen, and it didn't involve a structural contractor. With the new remediator, protocols, equipment, attention to detail and care for the customer was seamless, knowledgable, comprehensive and respectful. Almost 3 months later, we received a final invoice from Biodynamic with payment due in 7 days. By that point in time, the second remediator had finished all the work and had billed us for the total completion. Before paying the Biodynamic invoice, we wrote them summarizing our experience and the disappointments along the way and asked for a response. We never heard from them.

By far the worst contractor experience I've ever had. I hired them in late September of 2022 for…read moresome very basic landscaping. They promised it'd be done in one to two months. (Which at the time should have been a warning, since the work I requested should have taken a week or less.) It is now mid-February of 2023 and the work still isn't done! They've left a wheelbarrow, weed whacker, and a pile of garbage bags full of yard debris sitting in my yard since November. I haven't heard from them since December. Of the incomplete work that they have done: - I had a grass and dirt driveway that I asked to be replace with sod, with mulch on the edges. Pretty standard yard, right? Instead, they put one color of mulch on the edge and filled the rest of the yard/driveway with a different color of mulch! And they did nothing to kill or cover the grass underneath, so now the mulch is full of grass and weeds. - I had two front yard patches with some lovely flowers, where I wanted the weeds pulled and some decorative rocks and plants added. I paid for those rocks in September and despite multiple promises that they were being delivered on a certain day, they have never arrived. Instead of only pulling the weeds, the help that they hired pull most of the nice plants out, including roses, but did nothing to kill the deep-rooted weeds that needed removing. So what had been my flower patches are now mostly bare dirt and weeds. So now I'm out thousands of dollars and my yard looks embarrassingly worse than if I'd never hired them at all. As a first-time homeowner who hadn't yet had a bad contractor experience, I'll chalk this up to an expensive lesson learned. From now on, I'll make sure to get everything in writing and never pay for work until it's actually done.
