    Beef-less burger with fries
    Harper F.

Bad service, average food I stopped at Fionn MacCool's while I had a layover in Toronto. I was looking for a sit-down restaurant instead of fast food, which is why I chose this place. The front desk staff was not friendly and very unhelpful. The waiters are running all over the place. I don't know if this was an issue with being understaffed but nevertheless it was chaotic. I ordered the beef-less burger. It was okay. The fries were stale. I would definitely not dine here again.

Excellent service by Ivona. No 5 stars due to the miserable welcoming of hostess, quite with attitude!!! We had nice drinks and both of us order very delicious French onion soup. Main dishes were calamari salt and pepper , very tender well presented and grill chicken sandwich. Not pricy and delicious to be in an international airport.

Due to a flight delay we got food vouchers so we looked up where we could use them and Fiona MacCool's was an option. We got to the airport very early and had some time so we decided to grab some food here. My friend ordered the fish and chips and I ordered chicken tenders and waffle fries. You can't go wrong with deep fried food at a pub style restaurant. It was a bit pricey but that's the airport for ya, but it was big portions. Food was tasty but service was lacking. Our server was very pushy and rude. Kept pushing for us to order drinks when we just wanted to eat. Got mad when we told her we had vouchers and tried to tell us they don't work unless we printed them. Then she walked away and left us to sit for a while and came back to repeat the same thing. Eventually the manager came and it seemed like their system does not work with online vouchers. The online vouchers took over 40 minutes to process, no fault of the manager though. She was very lovely and had a lot of fun stories to tell us. Would come back for the manager and decent food but not for the server.

I read Morgan Llewellyn's "Finn Mac Cool" when I was but a young lass dreaming of hot, long-haired Celtic heroes and listening to way too much Sarah McLachlan. Now, I just care about getting a decent portion of fish and chips to get me through my first visit to Toronto at Pearson. I HAD to stop at Fionn MacCool's (those Celts and their wacky spelling) the second I saw the name. This small Irish pub offers patrons the standard fare, in addition to butter chicken and cauliflower curry. I like it here already. Nothing fancy, just decent eats after you de-plane and are prepared to eat a side of herd (if you can find it). The chips were a bit greasy, but I was very happy when my food arrived quickly and piping hot. The server was really as friendly as he needed to be but very efficient (plus, he was honest about the chips). Not the best fish and chips I've ever had, but not the worst either.

An OK place for a quick before plane meal. it's nice the menu lists the calories. I also like that the PA is piped through so you can hear flight details. I don't like the fries here they always taste or cooked or dried out to me. I tried the steak and it was good. hard to cut with a plastic knife though. All in all a good place. very friendly servers and a decent atmosphere. I prefer the bar to a table.

    The pot pie.

I don't think that I had ever dined at a Fionn McCool in my life before this visit. Yes, I lead a sheltered life. After spending a day getting my CPR certification at work (I passed with flying colours and I miss my mannequin... haha!), I needed dinner. I decided to head back to the hotel and give Fionn McCool's a try. I hauled my stuff back to my room and simply headed over to this restaurant with my purse. I was immediately greeted at the host area. The woman seated me in a quaint corner. The padded bench seats were high, even for someone like me who is fairly tall. I was comfy. My server came over roughly seven minutes later. I didn't mind. It was enough time for me to review the beverages and food menus. I wanted wings. I ordered 1.5 pounds of wings in the buff (that is, they don't have any flour coating on the wings). I went with salt and pepper. The wings come with veggies. I chose ranch dip. I also ordered a Diet Pepsi. The raspberry blood orange cosmo intrigued me. I went for it. It came out first. It was delicious. The fruit flavours worked well together. There were crushed raspberries at the bottom of my glass. I didn't waste anything. I highly recommend this drink. My wings came next. Another server brought them out and indicated that I be careful. They were hot out of the fryer. I got two drumsticks out of the batch of wings. They were yummy! I was so happy. I liked dipping my celery and carrot sticks into the ranch dressing. Wings are in the appetizer section of the menu. It can completely serve as dinner. I felt like dessert. I asked my server for a dessert menu. She seemed so happy that I wanted more. I ordered the brownies and vanilla ice cream. I was so happy when my dessert came to my table. The presentation was cheerful and nice. I dug in. The brownies were moist, fudgy, and scrumptious. Vanilla ice cream balanced out and complemented the brownies nicely. My server came over and asked what I thought. I was in heaven eating everything. This eatery surprised me. I sat there and realized that there was live music. An older man was playing his guitar and singing during my entire time there. He played a bunch of classic rock songs. He had a great voice. I appreciated his talent and I dined, clapping after each of his songs without flinging my wings across the restaurant. I didn't realize that Fionn McCool's accepts Scene points. It's known as the Pubs on the app. I managed to get 20x the points my loading an offer on my app. Nice! My server was friendly and helpful. She got my bill and asked whether I wanted to charge my meal to my room. I paid with a credit card instead. Easy peasy. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. Many folks drop by to watch the game (Leafs were playing when I was here), have a drink or meal, and leave. I had a great experience. The manager came over to ask how I was. He also said goodbye to me when I left. I haven't seen that in a while. I hope to eat here more often. (449)

Two fellows occupied another table. Hmmm, where is everybody? Despite being an Irish Pub, the owners appeared to be Indian. All the staff that I saw were Indian, including the lone server/bartender. Now, that's not a bad thing because I love Indian food. I was actually quite happy! I just never expected it to be disguised as an Irish pub. I chose the Butter Chicken (Authentic creamy butter chicken sauce served with rice and naan bread). It was actually quite good but not quite up to the standard of an authentic Indian restaurant. It seemed to be lacking some of the creaminess that I've become used to in butter chicken. So this was very good, but perhaps not as authentic as I was hoping for. The rest of the place looked like what I would expect from an Irish pub. The (faux) worn furniture, the dart boards, the pool table. the fireplace, a good variety of beer on tap. Hopefully the evening crowd is better. There is one thing that I found to be a turnoff - the strong smell of air freshener or some kind of cleaning agent. Tone this down for a better, more natural experience. Please.

The patio out back is a nice bonus when the weather cooperates, and the live music on weekends is usually a talented one-man-band or duo who know how to work the room. Food-wise, it's mostly a home run. The wings are massive and come in a honey-garlic that's legitimately addictive, the fish & chips batter is crisp and greaseless, and the shepherd's pie is proper comfort food--hearty, well-seasoned, and served scorching hot. The Irish nachos (potato slices instead of tortilla chips) are a fun twist and disappear fast. Prices are very fair for the portion sizes; you'll leave full without feeling robbed. Service is friendly 9 times out of 10. The staff are the type who remember your name after two visits and pour a perfect pint, but on busy nights (Friday/Saturday after 9 pm) it can get stretched thin.
