Patty was dry, sauce wasn't tasty, fries looked beat up, like they were almost re-fried. Good Old Fingers: Classic chicken fingers served with pub style fries, cabbage coleslaw and choice of sauce. They were dry and the sauce didn't make them taste any better. Fries were the same for this plate. 2 meals were $50 before tip. Overpriced, low to moderate quality food, depending on your food expectations. The server was also wearing heavy perfume that we kept smelling everytime she came over. I was in need of some lunch on a recent layover in Toronto and Fionn MacCool's came through. I was able to be seated straight away and my order taken quickly. I appreciated the hostess asking if I was in a rush (I wasn't, but it is an airport and that was a nice courtesy). I ordered their grilled chicken caesar. It came with smoky grilled chicken, bacon, and the other usual caesar salad accoutrements, including a couple of lemon wedges. It was fresh and tasty. The server was attentive and kind. We arrived at the Toronto airport almost 3 hours early. So we decided we had time to have a nice dinner before getting on our plane. The place was definitely busy, but we were still seated within 5 mins, at one of the tables in the hall, which I actually preferred as we had a lot of luggage, as you do when travelling with kids. I ordered the fish and chips, with sweet potato fries instead. The fish was delicious, battered and wonderfully crispy and the perfect temperature. The sweet potato fries however were meh, not even warm and a bit flaccid. Hubs had a burger and he said it was amazing, his fries were better than mine. My daughter had a burger and fries. Even though it was from the kids menu, it seemed way too big a meal for her, she only ate half the burger and a few fries. Due to a flight delay we got food vouchers so we looked up where we could use them and Fiona MacCool's was an option. We got to the airport very early and had some time so we decided to grab some food here. My friend ordered the fish and chips and I ordered chicken tenders and waffle fries. You can't go wrong with deep fried food at a pub style restaurant. It was a bit pricey but that's the airport for ya, but it was big portions. Food was tasty but service was lacking. Our server was very pushy and rude. Kept pushing for us to order drinks when we just wanted to eat. Got mad when we told her we had vouchers and tried to tell us they don't work unless we printed them. Then she walked away and left us to sit for a while and came back to repeat the same thing. Eventually the manager came and it seemed like their system does not work with online vouchers. The online vouchers took over 40 minutes to process, no fault of the manager though. Oh my goodness! I sit at the bar and the bartender is busy. She's the only one. You would think someone shot her. She gets me a beer....eventually. I order food at the same time. Another bartender comes on and gets me another beer. She was good. Some new people sit down beside me and order food. I asked her to check on my food. My food arrives the same time as the person who sat beside me 40 mins later. (Wish I was kidding) The other bartender gets me another beer. (My bartender got me 1/3 drinks and nothing else) The bartender who wasn't mine got me 2/3 plus brought my food. I am suspicious that my food was sitting under the heat lamp for 30-40 mins and then zapped quickly when I inquired about it. No apology. And it tasted like bum!!! The crappy bartender is also grumbling about the last few patrons being anal while I am sitting there to the second bartender. I'm guessing they weren't anal. Now, I just care about getting a decent portion of fish and chips to get me through my first visit to Toronto at Pearson. I HAD to stop at Fionn MacCool's (those Celts and their wacky spelling) the second I saw the name. This small Irish pub offers patrons the standard fare, in addition to butter chicken and cauliflower curry. I like it here already. Nothing fancy, just decent eats after you de-plane and are prepared to eat a side of herd (if you can find it). The chips were a bit greasy, but I was very happy when my food arrived quickly and piping hot. The server was really as friendly as he needed to be but very efficient (plus, he was honest about the chips). Not the best fish and chips I've ever had, but not the worst either. read more

An OK place for a quick before plane meal. it's nice the menu lists the calories. I also like that the PA is piped through so you can hear flight details. I don't like the fries here they always taste or cooked or dried out to me. I tried the steak and it was good. hard to cut with a plastic knife though. Stopped in here with a coworker before our flight back to Vancouver. There was a huge lineup to get a table so we decided to go the bar. The beer selection on tap was very limited (would have been nice if they carried even a small selection of local or craft beer). The service was absolutely horrendous. The bartender was completely miserable and was literally throwing dishes and cups around loudly. She didn't acknowledge our presence at all until another customer who was also waiting for service flagged her down (we were too scared to even try to flag her). We then got our beers slammed down in front of us as our order was apparently making her day untolerable. My colleagues food was decent but the service in this place was horrendous. I understand being understaffed and servers being busy but perhaps they should train their staff to leave their rage at home. I prefer my Bud Light without the complimentary side of "sass" and anger. read more

For all those bad reviews here is what I feel is a realistic expectation. 1) You are in a pub...they serve pub food! 2) The location is a busy terminal where no regulars exist and no relationships are formed! 3) The drinks are cold and the menu is above average! When I went in the restaurant exterior attracted myself and several other hungry and thirsty travellers because it is attractive and looks to offer comfort food and much needed beverages. That is exactly what I got...the staff was overworked and the quarters are tight so it felt like an authentic Irish pub in every sense. The food was pub like and gave calories on the menu which I loved. The waiter was polite, efficient and didn't miss a beat with our orders even without a pen or tablet...experience spoke volumes to me with that. I see so many bad reviews it makes me a little sad. Oiy. Where do I even begin. Lol. This place was right next to my gate so I figured it was a good idea to pop in.... service was mediocre. It was busy so I suppose I can let it slide.. my waitress was friendly. I'm not sure.. I waited another 15 minutes after she got hers to receive mine... So when the fried cauliflower arrived (my appy) .. the texture wasn't the greatest.. they tasted like they were sitting under the heat lamp too long or something as they were mushy and not crispy at all.. flavour was only alright. . One note .. but I was hungry so I ate them. . I regretted that idea and wished I said something but the waitress never really came around much. I was there for over an hour and my water wasn't topped up once and I finished it rather quickly. At one point she took my water cup to bring me a new one but never did lol. For my main I ordered the chicken pot pie with leeks and bacon and with cabbage and mashed potatoes as the side. When I read it on the menu it sounded SO good, but it didn't come close to how good it sounded lol. It was very rich and very heavy.. the cabbage was in a pool of butter.. I mean, I like butter.. but not that much lol. Mashed potatoes were ok, good flavour for those. It was difficult to eat the pie as the crust was so thick and the insides were too rich and there were too many flavours going on and like the leeks were stringy and hard to eat lol not sure what was up with that haha. There are a lot of things I can look past in a restaurant as I understand mistakes can be made and at busy times the quality of service can go down, I'm very understanding. But what really irked me and what brought this original 2 star review down to a 1 star review was when I was leaving, the hostess who was standing up at the front behind the host stand.. the one who's supposed to be greeting people and being aware of her surroundings .. she was so engaged in her phone and Instagram she wasn't paying attention at all to anything! I even said "thanks!" As I was leaving and she didn't look up but said in a very unenthused and distracted voice, "bye".. WHILE STILL STARING AT HER PHONE! What on earth is wrong with people?! When is it ever ok to be fully engaged in your phone while up at the front of a restaurant?! I was so irked by that I was going to say something then, but decided against it as I just wanted to get out of there. What a Shameless employee. A hungry Calgarian entered the airport on the Saturday red-eye. With a 3 hr layover ahead of her before a flight out to Mexico, this particular Calgarian needed some breakfast. Fast food doesn't normally sit well with her when she hasn't slept well, so a proper sit down meal was required. The only place that had a decent looking menu was Fionn MacCool's. With only two servers on, service started out slow. And it remained slow. The two of them seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and rushed to keep up. Our server kept double checking on things she had asked us already, "You wanted brown, right?" as she went walking by a few moments after we had already told her our order. Our food was... meh. We both ordered the Canadian Breakfast. Luke warm by the time it made it to us, peameal bacon that sounded good when it was described and ended up not really being something to write home about, sunnyside up eggs that were have cooked and half runny and soggy toast. At least the coffee was hot. But no refills showed up during the hour we were there (not that we asked outright, but usually someone comes around with the pot?). Anyway, good points. When the two kids both say that this was the best airport meal ever, you know you've made a good choice. Nothing fancy for us.... a burger for me and a Reuben for each of them. All came with great fries and a couple of yummy pickle spears. My burger was cooked exactly to order and topped with delicious fried onions and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Their Reubens were huge. They were kind of unusual with provolone cheese (instead of Swiss), bacon in the sour kraut, banana peppers, and mustard. Do not eat here, even if you are starving. I had to rush to get to my next flight, so I figured I would just grab something on the way. I knew from experience the food there was lackluster, but I thought "How could anyone screw-up a sandwich, honestly." Well, they didn't disappoint; they managed to make a stomach-churning, overpriced sandwich. I really wasn't prepared for how bad that prosciutto sandwich was. Reeked as if it had been left out for days, some sort of weird sauce in it, greens that had darkened and wilted from being out too long, and the bread of all things was soggy. How does one manage to make something so terrible? (On the plane I asked WestJet to take it as trash which they politely did.) The kicker: It was $14. Had I more time I would have marched that crap back to them and demanded a refund. And I suspect, that's the reason the place hasn't failed in all these years. I was lining up to be seated and the server called Liz ignored me (even though I was at the front of the line) to seat a couple of Caucasian guys behind me. Even the guys insisted that I was first and therefore should be seated first. Then after I was seated the server with red hair (supposedly for my table) ignored me even though I was clearly waiting to order. I normally don't think this right away but I think it's because I am Chinese and a girl so they assumed I wouldn't order any drinks. I really have no complaints. I spent an early morning here a few weeks ago and received prompt and friendly service. My expectations weren't very high seeing as it is an airport resto but I was pleasantly surprised. Had an omelette, $1 extra for bacon but note this is chopped up and put in the omelette, rather than on the side as I had expected. I asked for a side of greens instead of the potatoes & everything looked fresh and tasted pretty good too. Perhaps breakfast service is better than late night. OMG horrible! I don't like to post a review of anything unless I have something good to say but I am compelled here. Stopped here to get a nice meal on our way home from vacation. The waiter took our drink order and brought them promptly, then took our food order. In the 40 minutes that followed a gentleman sat down at the next table, ordered, received his food, ordered a second beer and got that, and we still saw no sign of our food. When we finally got our food my wife's shepherds pie just tasted like pepper, my burger was dry and tasteless and I never did get the fries that were supposed to come with it. It's one thing to get bad service. It's one thing to get bad food. Getting both is in acceptable. I will be making an effort to spread the word about this one. Shoulda gone to Smashburger. The beer choices are awful, no craft beer here but what causes me to review and rate a one star is the bartender that served me on a recent afternoon on my layover. He was a bigot and making no secret of it. Speaking very loudly to anyone who would listen, about one of the managers. He found himself to be oh so clever as he altered her name to somehow reflect on her nationality. Every server that came to the bar was assailed with his bigoted views. Any port in a storm. If you are changing planes and not exiting the boarding area, there's not a lot of choice, i.e. Tim's. The breakfasts are OK. Their coffee cups don't retain heat very well. But I liked my pub breakfast. By the way, French fries are not home fries! read more

I always eat here when I'm passing through Pearson. The food is good, portions are fair and the service is usually pretty efficient. Prices are comparable to other airport restaurants. I was disappointed to hear today that they've discontinued the Market Sandwich but otherwise I can't complain! read more
