Dropped in as a convenient bar to get a meal Bar man / Waiter super polite - waitress a little ansey ..... "passing me off he's doing it on outdoors" she wasn't a happy bunny, but that's staff for you. Seems a popular location food was reasonable but menu a little limited

I am giving this pub 3.5 stars. Way back in January 2015, I had a hectic time training a new employee and greeting to guests from Sweden at my workplace. During that first week, we all went to The Irish Shebeen, which is a short drive from the office, for lunch. I like pub food. I always have. I don't know why. I ordered bangers and mash. The bangers were tasty and done properly. The mash was wonderful in the gravy. I didn't like all the sauteed onions, though. There were too many for my liking. Still, the dish was yummy. Service was speedy and pleasant. I need to return and sample other items on the menu. Hopefully, that will be sometime this year! (60)

Smithwick's and a burger with bacon on it. What could go wrong?

What a great pub! A most friendly and attentive bartender (the great Hope)who even after a few visits, will remember what you like to drink and have a pint of Smithwick's on the bar before you can even take your coat off. You can get that pint late into the night most nights. If you are staying in Mississauga hotels, it's a much more convivial atmosphere that your hotel room. But don't order the burgers. The burgerwill be a dry, hard dark thing in a bun. A hockey puck is the closest comparison. You can't fault the Irish Shebeen, though. It's Canada law. My bartender apologizes. We have to make all our burgers medium well, she says. So, be wiser. Order anything but burgers. The fries, for example vere excellent. The single best entree may be the chicken tenders. They are only an appetizer but are served with a full order of fries so it is more than a meal. 5 big pieces of sweet white meat fried so crispy you can't talk at the same time on the phone. I had leftovers for the next day. The Shebeen has a whole separate room that looks like a lobby of a hotel from a grander time. With tables, WiFi and everyone avoid it it for the more boisterous bar, it is a perfect place to spend the evening if you have a hundred emails to answer I was served by Jei, the consummate host, who catered to every need. My first Negroni, missing Campari, was happily replaced with a gin and tonic. "No problem, sir." In most place, seeking a quiet place to work also means you'll be forgotten and you'll have to jump up and down to get the waiter's attention. But Jei took excellent care of me. It was as if I had a butler. Never abandoned. Drinks to dinner without ever wondering if everyone had left town. You should relax after a tough day at work at the Irish Shebeen. It is the friendliest neighborhood pub.

I'm not sure if the waitress was having a bad day or not but she was not very welcoming when my friends and I came in. We wanted to sit on the patio since they had the A/C blasting inside and asked her to seat us as there was no hostess. Her demeanor was not very nice. She seemed very rushed. My friends and I weren't impressed with her. We sat down and I asked for a drink list and she didn't want to give me the list. I am a visual person and like to read menus or see pictures. She just asked if I wanted wine or something like that. I just chose a pinot grigio. We got wings, fries, and chicken strips. They were all pretty tasty. Wings were done well and were decently sized. As we were leaving when we were done we saw that the drink menu was at the POS station right by the door... She could have just brought it for me. It would not have impeded her by any means. I probably wouldn't come back here on my own free will.

I have been here twice in hopes my first visit was just a bad fluke and my second would show that this is a great place to eat. It didn't work out and it's not a great place to eat. Both times the food was mediocre. Example: I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It was dry and not flavorful. there was very little sauce on it. What made it worst to the point I lost my appetite completely was there was a massive fat ball in the middle of it. I was so grossed out I couldn't eat anymore. Both my husband and friend who were with me also didn't like their dishes (burger with fries and pasta). The overall space of the restaurant is not well thought out. Its very tight and uncomfortable. I know they want to have lots of seats for customers but its to the point you cant even walk to the bathroom without bumping into someone or a chair. They should have kept to the booth design at least that way there would be walking room for customers and servers. The live music would be nice to hear but both times they had different bands that seems to play way to loud for the space they are in. You cant even talk to the person your are sitting beside because it is so loud. Oddly enough you cant really hear the person singing the band is playing that loud, just so you have an understanding of the level of noise. Overall I will not be going back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Which is sad because this place had potential.

While in town for work, I was able to walk to this place! Food was good and the staff was great!

This was my second visit for dinner while I was in town! I walked to another option at the hotels recommendation, but decided to walk back to this place. Also, if you show your room key, you get a 10% discount!! Two thumbs up!!

So this place was a Honey's Beestro, then it was some crap pasta bar briefly. Now it's a good Irish pub. I came for drinks with some co-workers on a Friday after work. The place is pretty nice. Fully renovated with exposed brick on most of the walls. The space is broken up into a few areas so you could easily have a private function and be separated from the rest of the bar. The beer selection isn't super great. Keith's, Stella, etc. on tap. It would be nice if there was a little more variety. The food is pretty standard pub fair. We ordered some appetizers which consisted of chicken wings and a mixed plate. The plate had jalapeño poppers, mozza sticks, potato skins, cheese toast, and spring rolls. The wings were good, the mixed plate was a little hit and miss. Hit: potato skins. Miss: jalapeño poppers. Our server was great to begin with but as we stopped ordering refills of our beers she soon forgot about us. She disappeared right when we were looking to clear up our tab. Overall I would come here again as it is a better option than most of the bars in the area. Unless you live or work in the area though, there's no reason to make a special trip to check this place out.

Service was great. Food was good. Every window in the place was filthy. A little worrisome about how clean everything else was?

The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.

The second is from 9 pm till close. - This restaurant is a part of Sandman Signature Toronto Hotel. - It's the prettiest Moxies I have ever been to. After work, I take backroads home. I take Attwell Drive often. At the corner of this street and Reading Court, I always see the Residence Inn. I didn't know that there was this Moxies at Sandman Signature Toronto Hotel further down until I did a search for Moxies near my workplace. I love happy hour deals these days. I came here after work last Wednesday to check out this eatery. It's at the end of a secluded cul de sac. I actually want to stay at Sandman because it was so beautiful and quiet when I was there. There was plenty of parking. I backed into an available spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a cheerful female staffer. She led me to a booth near the corridor to the hotel from the restaurant. It was also where the washrooms were. I was near a couple of women with a baby. The baby was sweet and was quiet. It was my lucky day! This Moxies does have happy hour between 2 pm and 5 pm. I got here just after 3 pm. Perfect! The interior is gorgeous. It's the prettiest Moxies that I have ever dined in. I'd come back just to be in such a beautiful setting. I liked the separate room with the Blue Jays game on. There were a couple of guys watching the game there. Another special detail about this Moxies is that there's a test kitchen menu. It was my first time seeing it at any Moxies. My server was Joe. He was polite and nice. I got these items: - Hibiscus refresher - Dry ribs - Miso tuna crispy rice The hibiscus refresher was a part of the test kitchen menu. I got the non-alcoholic version. It was delicious. The hibiscus was so good with lime and cinnamon flavours. You can add tequila, but I liked it the way that it was. When I lived in Winnipeg, my go-to order was dry ribs with whatever salad I was craving. I relived half of it by getting dry ribs. It was great having them again. They were meaty and yummy, with the perfect amount of seasoning and salt. I was happy! I didn't know what miso tuna crispy rice was. So, I had to order it. It's essentially sushi-like pieces. There were six pieces of perfectly crispy rice mini bricks topped with miso tuna and mayo. I loved the contrast between the crunchy rice and fresh tuna mixture. It was delightful having this appetizer. I needed a drink. The only downside was that my server didn't drop by until I was done with my appetizers. I ordered a Diet Coke when he did, which I got immediately. It was much needed and icy! I was way too full to get any dessert. I got the bill instead. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the women's washroom before I left. It was super fancy. It had a seating area in the middle of all single stalls. Wow! I'd come back here simply to enjoy good food and drinks in the most gorgeous eatery. Such a wonderful gem of a find! (181)
