Portions of fish were a bit small for the price. Service a little slow but newly opened. Coleslaw didn't have much flavor mashed were good. For an oyster house surprisingly high priced $29.99 for a dozen ‍ Happy hour snacks were reasonable. Doz steamed clams $12 (well 11, one didn't open) Music is good! Relaxed feeling in the bar.

The restaurant was swarming with flies. The shrimp my wife ordered was not clean at all. Soup and fried chicken had no taste.

the food was not great, and considering the price of it it was a real disappointment. Spend your money somewhere else.

I always appreciate when a business gives me insight like this. We promptly received our drinks and were informed of the specials, which all sounded delicious. We put in our order, and we barely noticed a delay in our food coming out. (But nonetheless we appreciated the heads-up!) I had the short ribs, and they were incredible. They were falling off of my fork because they were so tender! The mashed potatoes served with them were also great. The rest of our party ordered seafood, and everyone in the group raved about how good their dishes were. My only regret was that none of us saved room for dessert! Something that also truly stuck out to me: one of the managers noticed my grandma was cold and adjusted the temperature in the room in which we were seated. I know this isn't standard practice at restaurants, but I can't say enough how much it meant to us that the staff paid so much attention to us. Seaside Fish House is DEFINITELY on my permanent list of favorite places in Delaware now.

Whether you are in the mood to watch a football game (Go Birds!), enjoy a relaxing dinner with friends, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink, this is the spot. The only downside is waiting through the summer and fall for the Seaside Fish House to open again (all their staff work at the outdoor Paradise locations that are open in summer). Give this place a try if you're here in the fall and winter -- you won't regret it!

They are knowledge about the flavors of each oyster type and have been on point every time! They have one of my favorite mignonettes made there that pair well with the oysters! The menu has rotating new items occasionally which helps change up the menu and choices available. The fish dishes are really flavorful, moist and cooked well! The crab dip was good, but underwhelming. They have delicious wine and cocktail here. The staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating. Food service is quick and on time. They have a big inside facility with a lot of seating. They have outdoor seating available during the warmer weathers and occasionally have live music and a fire pit. We will continue to back when we're in the area and definitely recommend trying this delicious food establishment!

Went here this past weekend as part of a crab feast/ casino trip . Upon arrival, the establishment…read morefrom outside appears to be big. Once inside the restaurant, the tables are long and very close together. Not too many table are just 4-tops of which means you'll be seated with others most likely . It was a tight squeeze to get up from the tables due to them being so close . They dump all the crabs and corn on your table which leaves lil space to actually eat them. There are three bathroom stalls for a really big restaurant of which causes a long line every time you need to use the bathroom. Now the crabs themselves were a mix of small & mediums but they were really juicy and had a good taste. The servers were pretty cool although they seemed overwhelmed with the large groups of people. Overall the crabs, corn, clam strips, and fried chicken thighs and shrimp were good. I would come back again just not on a trip so I can get a better chance if not being seated with people don't know .

I had first caught wind of Old Mill Crab House about 10 years ago, when a group that included…read moreseveral of my coworkers took a charter to go eat at this location. The next day everybody was talking about how good this place was. They talked about the all you can eat crabs, that same with fried shrimp and chicken that was just out of this world, and it just sounded incredible. I had actually looked it up, and told my wife about it, but it was just to far of a drive without having a day planned around it. We don't really go out to this area, and so after a while it just kind of fell off of our radar. Fortunately for my though, I was invited to a conference at Salisbury University through my employer. I was talking with a friend of mine about the food ion the area, and he brought up a name that I hadn't heard in some time, but it clicked right when he said it. I did my googles and found that we were only 20 minutes from here, and I knew it was now or never. I told 2 of my coworkers about it, and gave them the backstory on how I've been wanting to cone here for years, and they were down. The only thing that came as a drawback was that we had just been given blue crabs at our conference the day before, and I didn't want to sit through another crab picking session, so AYCE wasn't going to be an option for me, but luckily it didn't end up being a problem. When we got here we were seated immediately, that staff was friendly and it smelled amazing as soon as you opened the door. Our sevcer was very accommodating seeing as we had to split the bill 3 ways and she put the alcohol on 3 different checks for us. Anyhow, The food! I got the Snow Crab mini feast, which came with 4 Clusters of Snow Crabs, 1 Piece of Fried Chicken, 1 Ear of Corn, Boat of Fried Shrimp, Boat of Clam Strips, Boat of Hush Puppies. Which was more like 3 pieces of chicken, and shrimp flowing out of the boat. I also got a pitcher of Blue Moon and a Tito's Wildcat which was really good. I could've done without the powdered sugar on top of the hush puppies, but it didn't ruin how good they were. It almost gave off a beignet vibe, they were lighter and fluffier than a lot of the more dense hush puppies I've had, and were still the best hush puppies i've had in a minute. Needless to say I crushed this whole meal, and I was actually considering not even eating the corn. Then I figured I should atleast take a bite, because why not. Best decision ever! I pealed the corn and drizzled melted butter with Old Bay on it, and holy smokes! The best corn i've ever had in my entire, whole, full, complete, total life! Even without the fixings it was sweet and juicy, just good. I would fircking come back from a Corn on the cob mini feast if they had one...lls The only real downside is that on a hot day this place and get pretty stuffy inside. We spoke with our waitress who said the A.C. has a hard time keeping up once the place gets packed, so hopefully thats something they fix in the near future. Definitely glad I got to check in here, and see what all the hype was about, and they delivered! Old Mill Crab House is the TRUTH!!

As you can see from my more than ten past reviews over 4 years and my last review in August 2025…read morethis is now one of my top three happy hour restaurants during the off season. I will summarize my four most recent happy hour off season visits. We were first here at the bar with my six family and friends. Well finally the off season happy hour half price dinner entrees have finally returned here starting around mid October with pretty much the same entrees and menu as last year. They subsequently updated the half price entrees in early November. All items have pretty much returned here except for some new entrees. The good news is that at least two new half price happy hour dinner entrees were added including the surf and turf with espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon with two skewered shrimps, yukon mash, tomato garnash with blue cheese in the middle of the tomato for $40 or half price for only $20. I never had espresso encrusted filet mignon, therefore I ordered and enjoyed mine medium rare. I could barely taste the encrusted espresso. I ended my dinner with my favorite Fiddlehead's draft honey porter for $6. My total bill was $111 with half price discount of $36.50 so my final bill was $77. On my second return I enjoyed my ahi tuna rice bowl with broccoli, ginger fried house rice, sprouts and ginger vinaigrette for $36 or half price for $18. My total bill was $72 excluding gratuity. On my third return I again enjoyed the espresso encrusted 4 ounce demi filet mignon, which I had ordered medium rare, but was over cooked to medium. I did not complain about returning my filet for a replacement, however I did show it to bartender Dennis. Next time I will order my filet rare. On my fourth return I enjoyed my usual cosmos and my ahi tuna rice bowl which was always properly cooked ahi style. Bartender Dennis always remembers I prefer a little extra spice, without me even asking for my Sriracha. Dennis recommended both of the above entrees. See my most recent pic of the new menu. Chef Cowan waved to me at the bar. Bartender Dennis served us very well supported by our usual excellent recommendations and conversations. Chandra and Cameron also said hello. The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On Black Friday I purchased another $1k in gift cards for the off season from Off The Hook and Hooked in OC. Needless to say we will continue to return here for happy hour to spend our $1k.

We ordered steamed large crabs; it was juicy, and unbelievably sweet--you could taste the freshness. You break the claws and the juice literally drips out--so good. The oysters? Also insanely fresh. Just wow. The service was excellent as well. While it's not a full-service restaurant, the staff were incredibly friendly. They even welcomed my dog on the outdoor patio and brought him a bowl of ice water. The owner was kind and shared that everything is fresh, caught daily, and made to order--which explains the wait time for the steamed crabs and also what sets them apart from other places. The casual seating and plenty of shaded outdoor space is a huge draw too! It's such a nice casual counter service, perfect for a family dinner after a beach day. However, I felt like the portions are cheap and the flavor is severely lacking. I think they cook everything and then add seasoning after cooking instead of cooking with it. I was chocking on tons of dry seasoning. With the amount of seasoning, it also lacked salt, so even though it had tons of seasoning, it still seemed bland. It was unreal. I won't be returning, but for cracking crabs and having something else to order for the non crab people at the table, it a good choice. I would not choose this place for getting a fish dish.
