The food was good but towards the ends my family and I were splitting the bill and they charged my family the the right amount but ran my credit card last and charged me the full amount of $250 I talked with the director and all he can say is i don't know what to say we'll refund it but will take a few days. I don't have of couple of days for $250. I told them I'm not from here and I just can't come back if something is wrong and all the director could say is sorry can't help you. read more

Basic menu that has drink items on the menu that are no longer being served... Why still have it on the menu? Terrible servers.... Probably because there is one employee working both the bar and restaurant area. Also felt a little uneasy when I ordered a salad and the sever says "that salad is not looking too good tonight. "Please wait to be seated"...so we did, waiting and waiting and waiting. I eventually stopped a waiter that was not looking interested to help...this should have been a clue to leave, but since we drove far and really just wanted something to eat we made the (bad) choice to stay. We ordered premium white wine...it was horrible...no one could drink it. Fish and chips was frozen fish drenched in oil...bangers and mash looked more like bangers and gravy, peas (as per menu) nowhere to be seen. Good breakfast buffet. Located right in the double tree hotel but he airport, so it's a perfect place if you are a guest.

The service was very good and the staff was friendly. The beer selection was good. I cannot comment on any of the food other than the Shepard's pie. It was very good even though it was Americanized like what is served in most US restaurants. That is, it had beef (cowboy) instead of lamb (shepherd). Had to eat here for the conference I was attending. Staff was rude. Food was amazing. I had wonderful grilled chicken sliders. Prices were great. One of the worst meals I have ever had. I asked the waiter what was good. He said the shepherds pie so I tried it. The meat and gravy were disgusting. My friend ordered the chicken enchiladas. I got a coupon for a free drink in the bar upon checking in to the hotel. Never one to turn down free booze, I sauntered over to Finnegans Pub. I wasn't very impressed. It looked like a run down community center with some tables scattered haphazardly around, with no rhyme or reason for the placement. The beer selection was rather limited with the lone bright spot being the local Kilt Lifter and an IPA. The place was oddly empty and I felt like I had wandered into some novel set in the desert, where a guy walks into a bar and is attacked by vampires who haven't dined on human blood in eons and the human clientele are strung out meth heads with green fluid oozing from all orafices. The clientele were varied and dazed. Overall, an odd experience. I slammed my beer and got out of there before the vampires showed their fangs and began prancing around my table chanting "Fresh Blood, Fresh Blood" while vigorously wagging their tails back and forth (yes, these vampires have tails). If any of you future visitors are caught in the trap, there is plenty of room for running around and flinging tables up because the space was vacuous with limited seating. read more

I have been to this hotel many times and eaten at Finnegans. The food has always been adequate tasted great served hot I got it quickly and the service was very friendly! Unfortunately I do not drink but their bar area is a cute little area with pretty good selection of beers. The management I have met twice while dining and they are also very friendly outgoing and really appreciate me being there. You should give it a try too! read more

I work very near Finnegan's at the DoubleTree near the airport. I used to go in all the time. Recently I found that they shrunk their menu. I'm ok with that because I understand the economy and the need to shave off extra meals that don't sell well. Apparently, this included any burger other than the "burger". They have toppings for it, however without being mentioned on the menu, you'd never know it. I used to love their hawaiian burger and mushroom burger. GREAT... I mean GREAT burgers. I still can't ding them on the food itself. Everything else on my last visit was a trainwreck. I ate with co-workers. One asked for sweetener for her tea. It didn't arrive. She asked again, and it didn't arrive. She asked a third time, and out of spite the server Andrew shoved 2 entire containers full of sweeteners. Like she needed 2 of them. One would suffice and they were slammed down in front of her as if to teach her a lesson. The management has changed, the servers are no longer any good and the service never even tried to make up for it. read more

All these complainers and whiners made us hesitant to try this place. But stuck out at a nearby airport hotel, we really didn't have too many options. The weather was bad, and we just didn't want to go very far. So we took the short drive over to Finnegan's at the Doubletree and from the minute we sat down were glad that we did. Our server, Alyssa, was new to dinner service but did her best to assist us on the menu items. Plus she was just all around friendly and attentive. Truthfully, no matter how good the food is, when the service is bad it ruins the entire meal. The service we experienced was fantastic. For the reviewer who was upset that there was only one burger, news for you. There was a whole selection of burgers. I had the pub burger and it was delicious, though admittedly I'm partial to "real" cheese, not processed cheddar... that was the only disappointment. The burger itself was very tasty and really deserved good cheese. The warm chips and salsa were delicious, and for those who watch their carbs, and don't like artificial sweeteners, they have TRUVIA in their sweetener selection. My husband had the Reuben, and being a Reuben aficionado, I trust he's right when he said it was delicious. The Fries were hot and fresh and I even had a salad. The salad was actually a pleasant surprise. Getting a fresh side salad of spring mix with a tasty balsamic vinaigrette with a burger isn't that common unless you pay extra at most places. So, good food, good service and good atmosphere. All in all, this was a very good experience. read more

Pretty empty at 8ish on a Saturday but from what I can tell Tucson is a pretty quiet place. Anyway, came in with the husband and our sons. Was open seating so we settled down and not even minutes later someone was bringing us menus, high chairs and taking drink orders. They bought out menus and crayons for my boys and were hanging around talking to my sons (people tend to do this often, they are really cute boys). Ordered BBQ wings, the standard burger, my husband got the Tucson burger and I got sliders and corn dogs for my boys. All food was cooked very well, had great flavor. The wings were very good and not too messy, I hate messy wings. The burger was cooked medium well just like I asked. We like all the tables were brought out warm chips and salsa both were very, good. And I'm not a salsa fan but I'm pretty sure I could eat this by the truckload. The manager was very sweet and kind, and honestly people just kept checking on us the whole time and again , she said she was missing her grand babies so she gave my littles a lot of attention but not in a creepy way. Lol. Anyway my kid won't sleep without a cup of milk and this and our hotel is pretty far away so I was dreading driving all over to find milk. We asked the manager and she bought out not one, not two, but three containers of school milk for my son and didn't charge us a bit. They bought out my check without delay and boxes and bags and we had the best experience dining with two kids (especially my 'active' 2 year old) we've ever had. He's never this behaved I may ask the manager to move in with us since she obviously is a toddler whisperer. If in the area, come here I don't think you'll regret it. It's not Ruth Cris but it's good service, good food and a good price point and you can't beat the convenience if you stay in the area. It's connected to the Doubletree btw. read more

This place gets a lot of foot traffic from the nearby hotels. The guy at the Hampton recommended it to me do I walked 2 doors down. I sat at the bar 3 nights in a row and ordered 3 different menu items. The food was average at best, overpriced, and the kegs were blown one night. I would say don't bother but choices are so limited near the airport. At least the staff, and most of the clientele, are friendly. read more

I've been here before, and not been disappointed. Haven't been amazed, but it's a hotel by the airport! If you expect haute cuisine, common sense tells you you're in the wrong place! I've had the fish and chips in the past, and I love the presentation. It was also very tasty, and I have eaten fish and chips in England. No, it wasn't that good, but nothing else on the planet is. It is definitely among the best in Tucson. That said, anything is better than "Sue's Fish and Chips"! That stuff is cat food! But I digress. My 15 year old son and I went there for lunch again today, spurred by a buy one entree get one free coupon. My son had the pub burger. It was huge! Beautiful fresh lettuce and tomato, cheese as requested. I was amazed he ate every bite in about 10 minutes. Oh, to be a bottomless pit teenager again. I had the sirloin. Honestly, I was disappointed. It was a little tough. But this isn't a steakhouse. It was probably frozen as it is one of the pricier items on the menu and most likely not ordered very often. That said, I have definitely eaten worse! And... it comes with vegetables plus a side. Vegetables? I'm a grown man! I don't eat no vegetables! But if they always tasted like this, I would!
