    0 Stars. I was a victim of credit card fraud after shopping here. I will never shop here again, and neither should anyone else.

As I am paying, the young manager comes to the register and says "give her my discount." I paid 53$ OUT THE DOOR for the cleats.. What an act of kindness!! What a generous, wise young manager.. Although they say there is no time limit for returns, there certainly is (according to corporate mgmt). However, no where in their pamphlet, store, or receipt does it say in writing that you cannot return anything (even new with receipt) once the item is purged from their system (who knows when that is) or it has been several years old. One representative told me that they would not be able to resell old (but unused) items due to parts like shoe glue in my case (Nike shoes). But that goes with anything they sell so that's a poor answer. So buyer beware! Not just this store. All Big 5 locations have the same "lame" misleading return policy under corporate executives. They need to update their policy and customer service big time. And they need to put all the disclaimers etc. on paper especially the receipts. It doesn't help even if you are a loyal customer for several years either.

I talked about the exact gear that I needed and he immediately referred me to another store without even looking to see if I he had it. He interrupted my phone call and told me I "looked homeless" and that I needed to get out and I can pay for the things that I had in my hand, a few hooks and weights. At that point I was disgusted with his behavior and no longer wanted to do business there. I asked for a real reason why he was doing that and he repeated that I looked homeless and that he was calling the police. There was nothing I could do or say to convince so I decided to leave. West Marine HAS to do something about this it is unacceptable.

I'm employed at this location, I observed and experienced patterns of unprofessional behavior by management that created an uncomfortable and stressful work environment for employees. Many of the concerns reflected in public reviews about this location are accurate. Employees have expressed discomfort due to the tone, energy, and communication style used by certain managers. For example, group messages addressing employee lateness were often sent in a disciplinary tone, publicly highlighting issues rather than providing professional and private reminders. These messages are not isolated incidents but reflect an ongoing communication approach that is discouraging and unprofessional. Additionally, my last day of work at this location was approximately five months ago. On that day, a manager, Daniela, attempted to enter the restroom while I was inside. When I expressed that I felt uncomfortable and that this was inappropriate, she stated that knocking gave her the right to enter. I made it clear that I did not feel comfortable with this behavior and requested that it not happen again. No acknowledgment or apology was provided. Following this incident, my scheduled hours were significantly reduced and eventually set to zero, though I remain listed as an employee in the system. I believe this may constitute retaliation after raising a concern regarding inappropriate conduct. I would also like to note that, during my time at JD Sports, I observed a pattern in task assignments that seemed to align with gender. Specifically, male employees were primarily assigned to selling shoes and interacting with customers, while female employees were often left standing by or given minimal customer-facing responsibilities.
