I took my vehicle to Fine Line Body Shop after I was rear-ended in an accident that was completely the other driver's fault. Both parties had insurance, and my navigation system was working perfectly before the accident. After the repairs were completed and my vehicle was returned to me, my navigation system no longer worked. The insurance company issued payment related to the repairs, yet Fine Line Body Shop refused to fix the navigation issue. As a customer, this is frustrating because I did not cause the accident, and I should not have to pay out of pocket for damage that happened because of it. If a business is being compensated through insurance for accident-related repairs, then everything damaged in the accident should be properly repaired and returned in working condition. Last month my husband hit a deer on the way to work. We've never had an issue with our car prior to this. Best car ever. There was extensive front end damage. After the Insurance paying them thousands to fix everything including extra things they had found they called my husband in a hurry to have him come pick it up. They said they closed at 6 but would wait for him. He picks up the our vehicle they lock the door and go home. He makes it a mile and a half down the road before going to get on the highway and realizing it won't get past maybe 50 mph. My husband called them the following day when they opened. They said they had nothing to do with that and it must have happened during the wreck. So they submitted it to the Insurance. The adjuster agreed it should be covered. Now they want us to pay 500 more to diagnose something they should have found in the first place to decide if they believe it was caused by the accident! At the first body shop i couldn't get past the receptionist to talk with anyone without already having a claim from my insurance company on their computer. I left. When i arrived at Fine Line not only did I get to speak with someone, there were two gentlemen, one being the owner that got up from their desks and came out to look at my car, even getting n the pavement to look underneath. Through no fault of her own, my wife's '14 Fusion has spent over a month of its life at the Clintonville Fine Line. When the car was six weeks old, a distracted teenager caused moderate rear-end damages to the tune of over $12,000. We think they did a marvelous job of putting it all back together. The paint match is amazing, and we've had no problems with the repairs. When she tapped a deer this fall, we went back to Fine Line for the minor front end repair and are equally as pleased. Stephen is a consummate professional, kept us informed and handled the additionals with the insurance companies. Because of this I hurried up and put a $400 deposit down and the didn't even order the parts. After a month and a half of zero communication from them they were telling me they were still looking for parts. Very dissatisfied with the customer service I received from the auto shop. I called before dropping my car off just so we could all be on the same page regarding the repairs for my vehicle. The agent Prescott is a liar, I told him there was suctural damage to my vehicle that was increased from the auto accident. These people assessed 2000$ in damages for a bumper replacement on a 10 year old car. That has rust on the bottom . They started repairs without my consent, when in the contract it states the car wouldn't be repaired without my verbal consent. I will never go to them again or send any business there way!! read more

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! This has got to be the most terrible business in Columbus with the most unethetical business practices I have ever encountered. Let me give you a few examples. (1) Their ads say "free towing" and "we will pay your deductible" and that they have free loaner cars. Their towing guy came to pick up our car and handed me a contract that he expected me to sign right on the spot that said the opposite of all this and that I authorize all repairs to my vehicle no matter what the cost is. No matter what you do, make sure not to sign this contract. (2) When I called to say I don't want them doing anything to my car they told me I have to pay for their "free towing". (3) When I called to take advantage of their "free loaner car" promotion they told me they only have a few loaner cars and all are either out or wrecked and they will notify me when they will be available. My car has been in their shop for 2 weeks and so far no loaners are available. (4) The car was in a very minor accident - hit a pole in a parking lot - but their repair estimate was for 10,000!!! (5) The manager Shaun is super shady and the other people seem too scared of him and others to do the right thing. (7) I'll be also sending a letter to the state attorney general so he could investigate their unethical business practices. (8) They told me my radiator is broken and first said it will be $300 then $600 to fix. I see the brand new radiator is $75 online for my exact car and it's a simple part. They overcharge like crazy. If you don't want to read this entire review, just stay away for sure. My car got backed into in a parking lot summer of 2013. Fine Line fixed my car for me in a week which isn't so bad. Aside from the bottom of the bumper that was replaced not having all the push tabs put back in, there were no issues worth mentioning so overall I was happy. However, one year later the paint started bubbling up and peeling. I brought this to the attention of the shop manager and he agreed to fix it. i dropped my car off and was told that it would take 3 days to repaint the hood. I'm not sure if that's an appropriate amount of time or not but I agreed to let them have a chance to fix their error. Three days later, i get my car back and it looks fine. I get back in my car and i check the odometer. I took a photo of my odometer when I dropped the car off and the car has obviously been driven. Not only that, but I had reset everything in the car and my car says that the average mpg used for the few miles that it had been driven was 7 mpg. I called and spoked to the manager who swore nobody had taken the car off the lot. Here is some background info. My car is a 2012 STI. It's not the fanciest, fastest, exotic car in the world but it's still a car that is joy ride worthy. No matter what I said, nobody would admit that the car had clearly been driven more than it should have. To add insult to injury, The hood that just got repainted started chipping again within days. I took my car back and showed the manager what happened and instead of taking responsibility, he told me it happened because i washed my car. Not only did he not tell me anything when he gave me my car about not washing and waxing my car, he told me that it was my fault that it was chipping. If new paint is so soft that rocks will do this to the paint, is it not his job to inform me as the customer? I sprayed the car down with just water, I did not wax the car. Bottom line, do not take your car to this shop. They do not good a proper job and will treat you like you're the idiot if they do mess it up. read more

I chose the Olentangy Rd. location and they did a great job. They dug deep and got additional approvals after the first estimate for additional repairs after taking the car apart. They are busy and I won't say they were fast (almost 4 weeks) but they were thorough, and that is more important (I had $13k worth of damage). The car looks brand new, no overspray anywhere, brand new factory replacement parts (Acura) it was cleaned prior to picking it up. Don't ding them for their aggressive marketing program that other reviews mention, the work was top notch. read more

I truly hope no one has to go through what I have with this Body Shop. They are just terrible from the get go. I am totally regretting I allowed them to tow my car to their shop. My car had front end damage and they billed the insurance company for about $5500. While they were at it they missed a coolant pipe that was damaged. All the coolant leaked out while I was driving and my car had to be towed back to them. They told me the engine needed to be replaced at a cost of $3400. With the help of the BBB, they replaced my engine. I had issues and I took my car back to the dealership because I do not trust Fine Line. The dealership found issues such as missing parts and bolts that were not tightened. It was just shoddy work all around. Hoses were not routed properly, and the power steering cooler bracket was broken along with missing engine splash shield. I had to spend $2200 to fix all the mistakes this shop made. What is the point in taking it to Fine Line if you have to take it to another shop to get your car fixed right? Buyer beware! read more

Getting into an accident is stressful to begin with, and then paying for the deductible, car rental, etc. When I took my car to Fine Line Auto Body, they made me feel comfortable and welcome. After picking up my vehicle at the Alum Creek location, I tried to explain issues that I had with the work performed so that it could be addressed and fixed. I was told by the general manger of that location that he "didn't care" that my car was "a piece of junk", that he "didn't like me and hadn't liked me from the day I first showed up" and then proceeded to ask for the address of my place of employment so he "could come harass me at work" at which point when I refused he told me that it "was ok, because he had my home address and could just visit me there". I stated that I didn't appreciate the disrespect and was told that he "was trying to disrespect me every chance he could". I would not recommend going to this shop under any circumstances. Poor quality work, poor communication throughout the process, and open and deliberate threats. UPDATE 03/11/16: After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the regional manager contacted me and offered to make another attempt to repair my car. We discussed at length what needed to be done and he personally assured me that it would be made right and apologized for the interaction between the general manager and myself. Now that I have picked the car back up, it looks like it wasn't touched the entire time they had it (well over a month). I'll admit they did a couple of things that the regional manager and myself discussed, but those things amounted to drops in a much bigger bucket. My car is still not driving properly, and the body panels and paint are very bad looking. I could've done a better job in my garage for what they got paid to do this. They are blatantly refusing to further attempt repairs. They have ruined my car, and now I am the one who must pay to have professionals repair it. When I pulled up the BBB website for fine line auto body I read through about 10 complaints as well as the companies response to them. While there are always going to be some people you just can't make happy, this place as a whole showed very poor customer service toward them. Trying to give them any benefit due, I actually emailed them myself and asked who it was that handled the complaints, because I would be concerned if I had an issue that it would not be handled well. I was in an accident when a vehicle hit my Fusion on the passenger side after running a stop light on Hamilton rd. in Columbus by Eastland. My vehicle was towed to the insurance recommended body shop. I got a call from Fineline auto body on Alum Creek. They convinced me that they could do the repairs better than or as good as all the other body shops in columbus, best part was there would be no out of pocket that they would cover my 500$ deductible. Awsome! (I thought). So they towed my car from the location it was at. Gave me a rental car that smelled like mold and a wet dog, front floor boards were soaked, stained and the car was disgusting. I believe their rental cars are repaired wrecked vehicles that they can't collect on or were totaled, they buy the car, repair it and use them as customer rentals. After they did the work on my vehicle. I picked my car up and left. I heard a grinding when the wheels were turning. I figured it was from sitting in the wet weather. By the time I got home the drivers side brake calliper was glowing red. I called them and they asked if I could drive it up? Really? Don't think that's safe? Call me paranoid.. I asked them why the driver side brakes were even messed with. He didn't know, but they would fix it. Well if you don't know why would you fix it? If you don't mess with it? So they fixed it okay, the car stopped and the grinding was gone. About a year later, I go to change my brake pads and rotors. I noticed they used junkyard parts and used parts to repair my car. You ask how do I know this? The white paint pen for the inventory part the salvage yard uses when they stock the part was still visible. So then I go to take the pads off. Can't get the carrier bolts out, not even the size or right kind of bolt thats a carrier bolt. They used a run of the mill bolt that you get at home depot, cranked them down soo tight I had to use a heavy duty pipe wrench to get them off. Had to buy a complete caliper and had to then go to a dealership to order the carrier bolts. After Fighting with the breaks for 2 days and getting them changed. I began to in depth inspection the work that was Fineline did. They used all salvaged hardware parts. The side panel they used the metal was extremely thin, thinner than the driver side, which means they got it from a discount substandard fender supply. The paint job did last ,for awhile then the clear started to flake and peel. At this point I was already looking for a different car. I would avoid this shop at all cost. I got a bad feeling when I walked in the door and there was 3 people sitting around this very attractive womens desk, wearing a tight skirt, they all looked up like a kid that has been busted snooping in his parents private drawer. Not one of them spoke english. Definitely stay clear. Might be why insurance companies don't use them. The body integrity of your vehicle will be compromised for 500.00 savings. The steel used in a vehicles body is at a certain thickness to crumple at certain impact speeds, absorbing and dispersing the energy to help with survival. This will be compromised if you go to Fineline. Every negative review that I have read I totally believe, or experienced the same thing. read more

Marjorie called me that day (in the flood of calls from everyone and their mother) and was able to calmly guide me through the next steps I needed to take. Marjorie took the time to listen to my concerns (although it was anticipated their insur would cover, at the time my insurance was limiting what I could do), and she worked with me to problem solve for the time. I had a rental asap, and the entire proces was smooth from start to finish! I was always able to contact and have questions answered, and they kept me up to date with any news (once my car was taken apart, additional damage was found). I was even able to get my deductible waived! When I got my car back, they'd taken the time to detail and clean. I've had to go to body shops before when my car has been damaged, and nowhere has treated me as well or as quickly as FineLine! read more

This is the only auto repair shop I would ever trust with my car and would ever go to for questions or issues and the only place I would recommend to any of my friends and family. They are more than capable of fixing all calibers of cars and I've referred cars ranging from domestics to a Lamborghini and they have performed every time. The workers are honest and know their stuff and the owner is one of the few honest businessmen who truly cares about his customers. If something is not fixed to par he will personally make sure it is taken care of. The managers are accommodating and very competent. They work quickly but don't compensate in quality and are very transparent about issues and cost. If you want your car fixed properly this is the place to go.. and handing out roses to the women customers is a nice and classy touch! read more

I was a little nervous because I'm almost positive they wrote some of their own reviews on other sites (as many names were registered with similar names and only reviewed them and the car rental place they also are affiliated with), but they pay your deductible, and had what appeared to be valid reviews which made me give them a try. They quoted me a week for the car but got it back in four days and it looks great. They did not get my information from my insurance company as my insurance company hasn't even looked at my car yet. I have asked them over and over, each time they call, to please stop calling me as I am not prepared to deal with this until my insurance company looks at my car. It doesn't end! They began calling me at 8:00 AM this morning and they've called three times already. I DID NOT REACH OUT FOR YOUR SERVICES AND I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR COMPANY.
