I went to this store on a referral from another neighboring store, noticing a slew of items...including what I was looking for--zippers. The lady that helped me was very pleasant and available for advice; since I always shop alone, this was very helpful to me. --I found colored zippers to replace the black ones for my purse--they may not have been the exact color I had in mind, but I did come away with ideas to get around that. I did find ones that have great pull tabs that I liked. I would like to go back to visit for more of these types of items...it's like a wonderland of fabrics and everything to go along with it! read more

My fiancée has taken me to this place twice. And it is amazing. They have anything you could ever want in the name of fabrics. Anything. Everything from vinyl to polyester to silk to leather, and so much more... There's lace and zippers of all varieties. Threads and buttons out the wazoo. They even sell a few sewing machines and some really high quality scissors and shears. There really is too much here to describe. The fabrics are stacked up in rolls down many aisles throughout the warehouse. There was so much fabric, that the aisles seemed a little crowded last time I was there. But you will have no shortage of things to explore. And there is generally plenty of help around. Sometimes it does get busy, but it doesn't seem to take long to get an order cut and paid for. read more

They're nasty and rude. Being miserable at 9 am is crazy. The Hispanic men are disgustingly rude. Following you around and sweeping and walking all the way up to you when no trash is there and you were there first expecting you to move: insane. They kept coughing and sneezing in the air without covering their mouths. It's disgusting and they're probably why Covid is so rampant. There's one big in size Asian lady at the front and she was measuring yards wrong (shorting inches) and she got upset I called it out. If im paying for a yard, I need the yard to be a yard and not a few inches shorter. I can't read your mind, idk if you'll give me more in the end. Her big self was so nasty and mean. In the past, I have experienced the fabric cutters charging me a higher price after they cut my fabric than what is printed on the label on the fabric bolt. So yesterday I made sure to photograph the price on each bolt so there would be no confusion or issue. Sure enough, after he cut my fabric, the employee tried to charge me a dollar extra per yard. I told him, no, the price is what is in this photo. He exhaled loudly and changed the price on the receipt to the CORRECT price. Then he gruffly said, "Next time, $4.99 a yard." Yeah, there will BE no next time. I was disgusted by his piss poor behavior so I brought it to the attention of the cashier when I checked out. She agreed with him and said the price should have been higher per yard. When I pointed out that THEY mis-priced their fabric, she cut me off saying SHE didn't do that. Well I certainly didn't go in there with a price gun and change the price on the bolt!?! She also said "Next time, $4.99 a yard." Um, nope. Not if the price listed is $3.99. This isn't a third world country. I'm not haggling over the price of an item of interest. That's called false advertising and it is bad business practice. It's what loses one's customers, gets the business negative reviews and ruins a business's reputation. It also attracts attention from the Better Business Bureau. Be VERY alert to the prices on your items when making purchases from Fine Fabrics, otherwise you are too likely to get scammed. read more

There is so much here and I enjoyed just walking up and down the aisles taking it all in. Not everything was marked and I wasn't told the price before they cut one of the fabrics I got. Annoying, and more than I thought it would be. Still, I would have expected to pay double or triple elsewhere. I spent a good hour just browsing and I wasn't sure if I could just grab what I wanted or not. Ok I felt the need to make a review, as someone who for years had to shop here 2-3x a week, for my job, so I feel pretty confident I have a very well rounded perception of this business. This place is heavily used (I would say maybe even primarily used) by professional designers, seamstresses, costumers, the film industry etc. It is almost always crowded. So yes, the workers (who are super swamped) are curt and straight to the point. Some don't speak perfect English. Never has bothered me. THIS IS NOT JOANNS or a casual garment fabric store. Don't like the hustle & bustle? I guarantee they won't care if you never come back. Because for people like me, places like this and Gail K will always be where we need to go to get what we need in Atlanta. They have a TON of speciality fabrics but be prepared to dig around. Know what you're looking for and don't expect any staff to help you search. And literally every time Im there, I see some one trying to haggle prices with the staff. They are already discounted prices, and they will never, ever lower their prices when you haggle with them, so stop. Go in, get the sh!t you need, and stop expecting people to bow over backwards to help you. If you can do that simple thing, you'll love this place. read more

I used to live in GA when I first discovered this fabric heaven. Now, I live four hours away and will still make the drive. If you are looking for anything fabric related - you will find it here. PROS- largest selection of fabric anywhere. Amazing prices. I bought mostly knit types yesterday and prices range from 3.99 to 5.99 a yard. I did look at bridal lace and found some real pretty ones that were 25.99 a yard. The sell AMAZING scissors and will sharpen them free. I've owned Kai professional scissors and still prefer these. CONS- the actual content is not listed on the fabric bolts and not every bolt is priced but the employees will easily tell you the price before they start cutting. If you are looking for something very specific, you will have to dig. Rayon Spandex is in "KNITS". They do have PONTE so that is separate and there's Liverpool mixed in with them. I found some Cotton Spandex in the jersey aisle. You basically need to know fabric. CUSTOMER SERVICE- I've been in this store at least 4 times. I have NEVER encountered a rude worker. HOWEVER....each time I have experienced very rude customers that come in and act like they are entitled and try to break in line. But I've also met amazing fellow sewists that like to talk sewing. Holy cow! I was totally blown away by the endless fabric selection here! From the outside it is a simple block building next to the interstate but walk in and it is row after row dream shop for sewers. I ended up just browsing to see what they have so I. An plan my trip the next time. The focus on apparel fabrics of all sorts, materials for suits, men's dress shirts, evening wear, sheers, linen, denim, bold African prints. Great store!! They have every fabric type and every size, color, and variety of zipper you could hope for. Expect a lot when you go .... and if you are a newbie to sewing you might be a little over whelmed but you will still love it none the less. I still love this place!! Let me first start off with expressing how awesome the staff was when I showed up! I was taken back because I was able to become so lost in the Multitude of fabrics they have available. I went there and while it's worth a visit, I did not think it was anywhere near the quality of apparel fabrics you find at Gail K. On the other hand, they do have a big bunch of fabric and maybe I was in a bad mood when I was there or something. I would say if you're in the area definitely check it out. They've got a LOT of stuff-I just didn't see anything I couldn't live without, but maybe you will. Maybe I'll give it another try. read more

Great selection and quality. I've shopped there for about 15 years. HOWEVER--WATCH YOUR CUT SLIP. They write down the wrong (more expensive, every time) price on the cut slip. I have seen it happen to others, and it finally happened to me today. When I brought it up to the manager, she denied it, even though the price was right there. Thank goodness for yelp! This is the definition of hidden gem. You would never guess that in that rundown shopping center under the cheap looking rainbow sign lies a fabric wonderland with amazing fairy godmother like workers who are quick to help. I was looking for an invisible zipper in a specific shade of eggplant-maroon-wine-dusty purple, and they had exactly what I was looking for on their giant wall of zippers of every kind and every color of the rainbow. While browsing, I also had a fascinating conversation with one of the other customers, whose designer boss had flown him in from New York (!) to get the fabrics for their next project. He informed me that they also offer fabric wholesale. This doesn't surprise me, because the store is huge, taking up about three-four store fronts in this mall. Everything is very well labeled and cleanly organized. The selection might not be quite as crazy or unique as Gail K, but they still have an impressive variety. When you arrive, look for the "DRY CLEANERS DEPOT." The entrance to Fine Fabrics is actually under that sign, not under their own. Parking is plentiful in their attached lot, and they are open seven days a week. read more

I'm working on a film in Atlanta and stumbled upon this place through a recommendation by the fabulous local designer Reco Chapple who is a regular here. It is not on the list of fabric places that most people seem to shop at in Atlanta (Gail K Fabrics being the best.) It was going by the strange name of The Cleaning Depot, but is just now changing its name to Fine Fabrics this week. No wonder no one knew about it! It's in a large warehouse that also houses booths of other vendors who sell a wide range of goods and services, furniture, pearl stringing, it's almost like an indoor swap meet. Fine Fabrics is truly one of those finds that your jaw drops when you see the large inventory of stock and the incredibly low prices. Zippers? Rows and rows in every possible color you can imagine. Buttons? More rows and rows at discount prices. Fabric? Cheap and tons of it and much easier to look at than at Gail K's. There is not a huge variety here in terms of colors, it's very much a treasure hunt, but I was able to find everything that I needed and more. This place is very much geared towards designers who manufacture small collections of clothing as they stock quantity with yardage and supplies. Home sewers are welcome of course. If there is something that you need more of or that you don't see, ask them as they have another back-up warehouse that is just for their stock, maybe they'll have it! read more

Never would've guessed this fabric wonderland was hiding in this unassuming building. Someone recommended it to me, and I was ready to accuse them of screwing me over. I saw the cheesy looking sign, let out a heavy sigh, and decided to go in anyway. I thought I'd be able to get in and out fairly quickly, but due to suffering from a bout of F.O.M.O.O.F. (Fear of Missing Out on Fabric) I was there for awhile. I didn't want to skip what could be the perfect fabric for a project I hadn't even thought of yet. Rows upon rows of fabric, pretty much any type you can think of...and the prices are ridiculously affordable. And they have tons of other goodies you need, or didn't realize you needed until you saw them. It is truly a one-stop shop. It's a bit of a trek for me from the downtown area. Let me break down my experience. FABRIC Yes they have a lot of fabric so they are good for that. All the fabric is not labeled with prices or labeled with prices but not the right amount. I been to fine fabrics back to back for 2 years now and have yet made my review because I keep holding on to hope with them. I go to fine fabrics and take pictures of the rolls with the prices labeled on them for my clients. I come back to get it cut and they say that's not the right price and if that's the case you all should give it to me with what the price label said on it... it was on it 3 times on each side of the roll. They did not offer me the price that was on there and decided to charge me more. CUSTOMER SERVICE Customer service is terrible hands down! I don't say anything when I go in that store because my patience is about gone. The employees have this weird sense of humor which comes off rude! I had to argue with several employees in there! The only reason they feel like they can get away with it is because they don't have competition with other fabric stores. I'm sick and tired of how they treat people. Someone needs to train them in customer service because they don't have it. read more

After years of driving two hours to get my fabric, I will no longer be shopping here. I just witnessed terrible customer service by the owner and her employee. They just rudely told another customer that she brought to many pairs of scissors to be sharpened and that she should only bring two pair at a time. When the customer asked the owner if she lets her employees talk to customers that way, she shrugged and basically said that's the way they talk. The disrespect for customers who shop frequently is unacceptable. Disrespect of customers period is unacceptable. I will be saving the gas from now on and buying elsewhere. read more

This place is AMAZING. I spent an hour just looking at everything. It's a literal warehouse of fabric. PLUS all the smaller stuff like belt buckles, straps, notions, zippers galore. Etc. Everyone is super helpful and nice! One guy was cutting some fabric for me and asked one of the ladies how much it was- she said 2.50 a yard and he was surprised because he thought it was silk. I kid you not- the woman whipped out a lighter and LIT A CORNER OF THE FABRIC ON FIRE because silk and polyester smell differently when burned and it was the most casually absolute boss thing I have *ever* seen. I hope I know fabric like that someday!! This is definitely my new favorite spot for fabric and I don't even mind the 25-min drive! Stop in to wander and be amazed like I was! read more

Got what I needed! Came here last weekend to get fabric to have two dresses lengthened. Real talk, why are skirts and dresses nowadays so stinkin' short?! Anyways, back to the review. I was able to find the two exact colors of fabric I needed, and all of the materials are labeled on each aisle. I just brought my dresses in, checked the fabric tag and found exactly what I needed! I got my fabric cut very quickly, but be aware that there is a one yard minimum (you can't buy half a yard). Also, I'd bring a friend with you with some good upper body strength, because the fabric rolls can be quite heavy and if they're on the upper shelf, they can be tricky to get down. On the plus, they do except cards, and no minimum purchase requirements. Plenty of parking even though place was packed inside. Good prices too. read more

This place used to carry some island cotton print fabric and now they had like one or two prints but they have an overload of African print fabric and sequins. What the heck??? No Italian silk baroque fabrics , no Asian theme prints, just not the variety they once had in the past. This place is going down hill. There are some things you need to accept. You won't know the exact composition of the fabric. The layout, well it's broadly grouped, but its not precise. You have to hunt, you have to take your patience and it's good if you can know some things about the fabric you want. With those caveats you get... SO. MUCH. FABRIC. Also amazing prices. The staff are really friendly. Also, the other customers, they are a slice of America, a diversity of Americans and immigrants, and the diversity of needs all being solved with fabric purchases makes me glad to live in the US. read more
