They support crochet, Tunisian crochet, and knitting. They have classes and the person working there was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were a bit high but reasonable given the quality of the goods offered and the fact that, as a crocheted, I felt welcome. I'm 54 and have been crocheting and knitting since childhood. This is the first time I've ever felt welcome in a local yarn store as someone who prefer crochets.

Melissa has added more material than they had before. I was always disappointed by the selection of batiks, but since Melissa has come on board she has added so many more colors. I have shopped at quilt stores in Florida and all they offer is Florida tropical so for me this store has a very broad selection of material and not stuck in one particular pattern or style. I have done Block of the Month, Saturday Sampler and other projects and I have been extremely pleased with the end product. Linda is very helpful when you have questions on your Saturday Sampler. Their classes are very good and I enjoy all the employees at the store. They are always helpful. Do not be deterred by the other reviews. This is the place to go when you need material or help with picking material for a quilt you are working on. The prices are the same as other quilt stores but the sale room I can always find a bargain.

AS an adult I have spent far less time, but I recently moved out of state and we have nothing like this in my new area so I was looking forward to my stop here on a recent visit to collect swatches for the many projects I have planed for or new house. Wow is it different. First and most clearly it's a much smaller footprint. Many of the options have been reduced to sample books that you cannot take a sample of yourself to see in our space and lighting. How is this helpful? They used to have scissors, labels and pencils at every bay so that you could take distinctive notes for each sample you got. Not anymore. I had to take a photo of the swatch with label and sku and try to get a bit of the roll in to get a larger look at the sample. By the tome I got them all home I had no idea what each was or how to reference it. So the entire visit ended up was a wast of my time and energy and frankly, their resources. The samples are all precut (and tiny). So if you want a swatch f a print or embroidered material good luck getting a clear swatch with all the colors and/or details in it. They also were out of a lot of of the swatches. I mentioned they are precut now?...well if you are going to do that then you need to make sure that you are keeping them stocked regularly. I would say about half of what I wanted a swatch of, I had to walk to the front, ask a staff member to get up from her work, walk back with me and find what I was looking at, and cut me a swatch because they aren't checking it regularly. This is such a waste of my time and theirs (staff seemed to also be annoyed at this and my constant asking them to stop what they were doing to walk around the store to cut a single swatch) and never used to be an issue under the old system. They have also taken a huge portion of the space for cheep furniture. Think like Homegoods level stuff. Nothing special or particularly interesting. It is all very inexpensive (and it looks it-it all looked kind of junky) but like why? They significantly downgraded the footprint of the store and used a huge portion of the smaller space...for this? What is the purpose when you could use that space to being back some of the rolls of actual material? They did not have a lot of patterns & prints, embroidered materials, beaded fabrics, or anything really textural or interesting. They used to have so much diversity and what was there was mostly variations of plain textiles or really "southern" feeling prints...So it just lost a lot of what used to make this place so good. While chatting with staff I found out that the store was sold some years ago which seems to be the root of the issue. So if the owners or management see this, please for the love of all that is holy go back to the old systems because this isn't working. I can understand making changes and economizing but the way they have done this isn't positive, especially as your prices have gone way up and your offerings have deteriorated so dramatically. I was just window shopping (with the intent to place a large order for shipment) and if this is the new experience to get swatches to consider, I can't imagine the ordering process would be any less frustrating. It just making a much more frustrating experience for you customer. If I had never been here prior to this experience I wouldn't be returning. I hope it is a one off, but after seeing some other recent reviews, it seems to be the new normal. Shame on the new owners.

My number one recommendation for coming here is to have a list of what you need/are looking for because you couldn't possibly just browse the shelves like you would at Joann's or Michaels. The prices are insanely low and are the reason I keep coming back for my projects despite the lengthy drive from my home. The workers are all very kind and generous, often measuring lengths of fabrics and trims more with their heart than the rulers. I have never had an unpleasant experience with fine fabrics and I visited their Norcross location many a time, as well. If you're looking to stock up on materials, make a wedding dress, or your next cosplay, Fine Fabrics would be my number one choice for fabric and notions.

My only complaint is that it can be hard to navigate the aisle due to all the merchandise, the building has an unpleasant smell, and figuring out the price can be hard. Then, if I liked it and wanted to continue, buy some books and take some classes. Location is a little hard to find as the strip mall in which they are located is kind of down in a hole...right on Roswell Road next to Harry's Farmers Market. Prices were the most reasonable of any of the three AND they have taken over the space next door and that's where they have all their close-out beads for $3 a strand (not per bead, but per strand). I was expecting a lot of cheap, crappy beads for $3, but there were blown glass beads, natural stone beads (usually the most expensive) including agate and quartz, every shape and size of bead...absolutely beautiful. They are in the process of taking over a third storefront and having a workshop where they will offer multiple classes. Can't wait!
