I brought in a quilt to be embroidered. I was shown a picture of several fonts to chose from. Well,…read morethe font selection only showed the letters in the name of the font so I asked if I could see a preview of what I wanted embroidered in a particular font. I was told no, that wasn't possible. So, before I selected the font, I made sure to ask questions to make sure I would be happy with it since no preview was available. I asked if the font "Lucy" would be in print and not cursive and was told that would be. When I came in to pick up the quilt, the font was partially print and part cursive which looked silly and was not what I specifically asked for. It looked like two different fonts which also made the spacing look off. I asked the girl working if she thought the font looked wrong when I picked it up and she agreed that it looked like two different fonts used in the same word. She told me she would call her manager and send her a picture. At the time, the manager was unable to be reached so I left the quilt and my phone number for a return call. Before I left, I asked the employee if it was even possible to remove the embroidery/if that had been done before and she told me yes. Shortly after I left, I received a phone call from the employee informing me that her manager had said that since I chose the font, there was nothing else that could be done about it. I requested a phone call from the manager and received one the next morning. The manager called to inform me that they do not offer proofs because it would be "impossible" with the amount of business they do. She told me again that since I chose the font, she would not be changing it. I told her that I requested an example before printing and since that was not available, I made sure to verify with her staff member that the font would be in PRINT, not cursive. She told me that the employees don't know because they're not the ones who sew it, she is. If your employees don't know about the product they're supposed to sell, maybe you should be the one communicating with the customers rather than the employees...anyway, I pointed out that that would be an issue to discuss with the employee and proper customer service would take care of that as the customer was misinformed at the time of placing the order. She kept reiterating that I had chosen the font so she would not redo it. I then suggested that there should be a printed alphabet of each font available if they weren't going to offer proofs. She told me that "unfortunately we find that if the customers have too many options it makes the decision more difficult so we don't do that." Umm..that wouldn't be an extra option. That would be a more detailed presentation of the options listed as available to avoid unhappy customers and redo requests. It would take a whole 20 minutes to print an alphabet example to have on file of each of the font options they have. The "example" they do provide, which she seems to be convinced is sufficient, contained 4 letters. Believe it or not, there are 26 letters in the alphabet, 52 if you count capital and lower case letters. She informed me in a condescending way that again, I chose the font and therefore there was no changing it. After a lot of back and forth, she told me she would issue a refund for the embroidery but the quilt is "still functional" so she would not remove the embroidery and that's the best she could do even though it's "against policy" to issue refunds. So, now I'm left to buy a new quilt entirely and take it somewhere else to be embroidered. Terrible customer service all around. I do not recommend going here for embroidery needs. Photos below to show the font example provided and the quilt.

The amount of pottery that you can choose from to paint was a little overwhelming but I landed on a…read moreskateboard. There's also a plethora of paint to choose from. Be aware that some paints are not dishwasher safe. You'll know by confirming with an employee or if there's a specific letter in the paint numbers of your paint tube. You can grab an apron to avoid paint on yourself. If you do get paint on yourself it's able to be washed out but I didn't want to try it. There's one hand wash station where you will also drop off your used paint tiles and paint brushes. Once you get the run down on what to do from an employee you're on your own. There's a display that shows how your paint will look on your pottery depending on if you do 1-3 coats of paint. Time will fly quickly so I painted as much as I could and went over areas a lot. You can have finished pottery shipped to you but it could be more cost-effective to have one person pick up all the pottery if you have multiple and ship it yourself. When you pick up your pottery you'll get to carry it out in the store's new reusable bag. It was very cute. There's not much parking outside but that's the area for you. It's a fun activity to do with a group. Sometimes there might be no conversation going depending on how focused people are on painting but it's also a good time to unwind and turn your brain off.

My children and I were looking for an activity to do with a couple of older ladies that was not…read morenecessarily outside in the hot sun. We settled on All Fired Up in Alpharetta because it was inside but most importantly it was an activity...10 & 7 year olds only have so much of an attention span when hanging out with adults 60+.... I looked online and they suggested reserving a table to make sure you had space BUT the reservation date window was closed online - they want you to do it 3 days in advance (I was 2 days), so I called... They reserved us a table easy peasy. Parking is a little difficult because it's not close to the main Downtown Alpharetta Parking lot - so if you have little kids that aren't easy to contain or don't want to walk far you have to hunt. I parked right off the street (but I got lucky). Give yourself some time to find parking. We walked in and the girl behind the counter was very friendly and super helpful. She explained to my kids what to do in a way that was engaging and they listened. All the ceramics to paint were on the walls grouped by category for the most part. Both of mine painted boxes - $26/$28. My friends painted a light switch and flower - $12/$15 You pick your piece then head to the paint wall and pick up the colors - they suggest no more than 3 colors but it's up to you what and how much. They did say the more "coats of paint" the better it'll look when it's fired. We painted and talked and enjoyed ourselves. Four items came to about $95 which is perfectly fine for an afternoon activity that you then get to keep later. We went on a Wednesday, our pieces will be ready on a Wednesday (so about a week). We had fun. We have a keepsake. And it wasn't blazing hot while we were hanging out with family friends Win win
