I haven't reviewed Fine Eye since 2014, yet I've been back on a yearly basis and can't get enough of this incredibly unique shop featuring a collective of local and small artists. Walk in the doors and prepared to be amazed - a "fine eye" has been applied to all the art and practical products curated for their shelves! I usually walk in without any intention of actually purchasing anything. Inevitably, I do. On my last visit I purchased a unique wallet that was designed with a piece of a pro game baseball stitched into the leather, but I've also bought a statue and countless cards. You can find expensive art statement pieces and small stocking stuffers. It really all depends on what you're looking for. Also, it's housed in a beautiful old building in the heart of downtown Sutter Creek, so you'll inevitably walk by it if you're shopping or wandering the area. What a beautiful little gallery so many things to see. I love all the jewelry even though I don't buy much these days as I'm retired. My husband bought two cards that were hilarious. If I had a million dollars... I was in Sutter Creek for less than 48 hours but visited this store at least 3-4 times. I have never been in a store where I wanted to purchase so many items. Amazing and original jewelry...check. Beautiful clothing that I have never seen anywhere else...check Wall clocks made of glass that reminded me of the Alice in Wonderland ride at Disneyland...check. Wrought iron bat sculptures to hang...check. Stemware so beautiful that I wouldn't even dream of using but would display in a heartbeat...check. I think what I loved about this store the most is I was so intimidated to walk in. I had that feeling...you know the one when you get when wanting to venture into a shop but are too intimidated to walk in because the sales staff will look at you as if you should not be in there because their product is so much above you? Kind of like Julia Roberts on Rodeo Drive? Well I tiptoed in here on a Sunday morning waiting for the "Why are you here?" look. I never got that. What I did get was a very friendly individual wanting to know how my day was and chatting me up about the blouse I was pursuing. I keep thinking about the items I looked at and didn't purchase. I really like Fine Eye Gallery. It's centrally located along Sutter Creek's main street and has an truly eclectic selection of art and artful items. Wall art, prints, unique greeting cards, jewelry, purses, scarves, kitchen items, home and garden decor... I mean seriously, they have a ridiculous range of items but they're all unique and artsy and beautiful. Been in Fine Eye many times, mostly to swoon over pretty things I can't afford like their jewelry and gorgeous copper garden sculptures. I've bought some small art prints, cards and an absolutely stunning glass mezuzah. If you sign up for their email mailing list, they will send you coupons... yay! read more

This was a great shop to visit while shopping for birthday and Mother's Day gifts. I was surprised to see eco-friendly natural crayons, play dough, and finger paints for sale. I bought a beautiful hair comb and clip, wool-wrapped soap, trivet, and even a neat colorable/inflatable toy car set. The owner wrapped all the gifts in the most thoughtful, gorgeous packaging. Well, at least 3 lamps, 4 vases, 20 Christmas and Hannukah gifts for friends, 3 things for my dogs, and 10 things for my children. If you want a unique item that will light up your house, your heart, or someone else's heart, definitely check out this shop. Most people don't believe that I DO NOT like shopping---eegghhh. When we were there in August 2011, we were shopping for family birthday gifts...and found plenty unusual gifts to fit our fairly low budget for birthdays. However, there were so many items that cost a bit more, and a lot more, that caught our eye. So, we returned in February 2012 with our Valentine's Day emailed coupon, enjoyed our favorite artists/items as well as the new beautiful/whimsical/artful pieces that have been added since our last visit. This time, we ended up buying a few small gifts for ourselves. When we've finished with our remodeling work, we look forward to returning yet again to consider other items we can already envision gracing our home. One of the worst businesses. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Over the years, we've supported them and spent hundreds of dollars. During a recent purchase, I reminded them that I purchased a necklace that faded within 3 weeks of purchase. I brought it back and they said I had to send an email. I sent the email and they ignored it, but called me and said I needed to send another email. I reminded them of this. They found my purchase in their database and the artist. They named the artist but would not honor a return or even give a small ($5) discount off current purchase. Had my friend not wanted that purchase so badly I would have walked out. This boutique has beautiful and unique jewelry, platters, clocks, scarves, and many other gift type items. I have been to this store many times, and have found something that I can't live without each time. With that said, the customer service is horrible!!! They follow you around the store like you are a criminal, and it's not just me, they treat everyone like that. On my last visit, my sister had a pair of earrings in her hand that she was considering, one of the employees reached out and snatched the earrings out of her hand and told her that she would hold them for her at the counter. She was unbelievably rude. The people working there are all very weird and inappropriate. In the past, I have overlooked their behavior because their merchandise is truly unique, but after my last experience, I will not be returning. I don't understand how they can treat customers like that and stay in business? If your are looking for a pleasant shopping experience, go to ambiance or unique boutique on eureka st.
