Was able to leisurely wander the garden and cut the flowers that I wanted and made a bouquet. When I went inside the flower barn they helped arrange my bouquet and added some touches to it and made it beautiful. After my friend and I did the bouquets we decided to get something to eat at the outside Cafe. Our server was very friendly and explained about their farm-to-table approach. I had the Capay Cuban sandwich which was delicious. They had homemade dill pickles on it. I had their hand cut French fries that had miso aioli and jalapeño ranch that had just a little kick. They didn't have a large selection to choose from but everything looked yummy. There is a bar there and had specialty drinks available. They have a little marketplace where they sell dried flower arrangements as well as gift sets of their vinegar, oils, soaps, jams, nuts and honey. They also sell mugs and clothing with their name on it.

Definitely recommend this experience to others looking for a unique afternoon activity. But would recommend bringing a hat if going in the spring and summer for the heat.

Review #320 - 2018 I…read morehad this place bookmarked after seeing all their ads on Facebook announcing their "You Pick Pomegranates" for just one weekend a year. My sister's family really likes pomegranate so I decided to invite her to come along. We originally planned to visit this place on Saturday, but she had something else come up for her kid's school so we ended up coming on Sunday, October 21st. I showed up around 9:30 AM, and there were a whole lot of cars already parked in their lot. My sister texted me & said she was about 45 minutes away so I decided to sit in the car & wait, since my daughter was still sleeping in the backseat. When she finally showed up around 10:30 AM, it was getting pretty hot so my daughter was not a happy camper. Not enough sleep and heat does not make a baby happy. However, we managed to collect two 5-gallon buckets in about an hour. Actually, her little family did all the work while I played photographer. Hahaha The kids had a lot of fun picking their own fruits. My sister was kind of disappointed that we showed up so late since most of the bigger fruits have already been picked. We were still able to find some decent sized ones. I got a $20 box and she got a $25 box. I ended up keeping only 4 for myself and took the rest to my brother's house to let my other siblings pick what they want from it. My sister says next year we have to come back earlier on a Saturday so we can get first pick. Sounds like a plan!

Parking was not bad, even though we had to park on S.R.16 and walk in about a block and a half. I was a great, sunny, warm day for a little fun in the Capay Valley.

I really loved their strawberry lavender lemonade and shortbread thumbprint cookies! The cookies have a strawberry lavender jam center. The lemonade had a great balance of flavor and is so refreshing on a hot day. Turns out we visited when most of the lavender was harvested. I will try to make it back again next time in May or June so I can catch a glimpse of the lavender farm when it's full! It was cool to learn that there were many varieties including white lavender. There was still a section with plenty of purple lavender where we got to take some pictures and my friend trimmed her own little bouquet of lavender for her mom. I highly recommend visiting this farm if you're in the area.

One Thursday last month, we got to do just that. My sister, Sesame (my friend's dog that we were doggie-sitting), and I took a little day trip to Woodland. It was super hot that day with the temperature at 98degrees! Ugh... I got out my wagon to put Sesame in there so that she doesn't have to walk on the hot ground. We each picked a bouquet of flowers, and they were pretty. They did start wilting immediately the next day. But nonetheless, I'm glad we got to experience this place. It would be better to go either earlier in the morning or later when it less hot though. Parking was easy as they have their own little parking area. Watch for their signs to enter in the right area as the neighbor has sighs too that shows that people have tried to go their space accidentally.
