Love when a place surprises the heck out of me especially when there are 9 other girlfriends hoping you picked a good place to have a nice boozy brunch! Honestly, I was quite worried upon walking into a completely empty restaurant at noon right when brunch was scheduled to start. Brunches in HK are a pretty big deal so doing it right is everything. I came upon this place after seeing it advertised on a weekly email newsletter and decided to try out their "Urban Picnic" which is held on weekends and public holidays from 12noon until 230pm.
I booked a reservation one week out and even received a call a few day prior confirming it. Thankfully, they had called because the person whom I booked it with had the wrong date down! I appreciated their follow up service for sure on that one!
Their Urban picnic isn't actually a buffet but more like a build your own sandwich but I'll call it a "plate". What's cool is the food arrives on slabs of wood similar to a charcuterie board along with tin buckets of bread and adorable little glass jars of assorted sides (boiled potatoes, shrimp, caprese salad) and tiny tins of dressing and spreads! After the "starters" are done then come the main courses you can choose from a meat, fish, rice or pork dish. We opted for all of them! Everything was cooked very well and to everyone's liking. It was fun to pass around different dishes all while sipping our Prosecco! Last but not least, came the dessert! As if we weren't stuffed already, the dessert also came out looking adorable! Perfect for sharing and sampling!
I think you can tell we had a complete winner-winhah here! Being a foodie, of course I had to take a million photos as well but we rolled ourselves right outta there all plump and not as pretty as when we strolled in but totally worth it! Service was on par and we had several catering to our large table while was awesome!
Located inside the Luxe Manor, take the elevators in the back up to the 1st floor. The restaurant has a modern, earthy vibe which makes for a great ambiance. And remember brunch is a minimum of 2 people for $278 per person for the food and if you want to make it a boozy, free-flow, brunch add on an additional $150 for select wine, champagne or beer. Expect to pay $428 HK before the service charge. Not your ordinary brunch but definitely something to try if you don't want the standard buffet! thanks
FINDS actually stands for Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. It prides itself on Scandinavian cuisine. Uhh, well not quite sure of what that means but I can tell you it was good! read more
