This is the only one we took advantage of for this pleasure and boy are we glad we did. The other 3 wineries we went to where we prepaid for tasting, tried so hard to sell us wine or club membership, Wilson Winery did no such thing. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name who was serving wine. He was a treat. Knowledgeable about the wines, but not rote. Engaged in conversation about wine (my wife and I are pretty knowledgeable ourselves about wines as we have not only been going to wineries for almost 40 years, but we've also volunteered at a couple) He was lively, on point, and, dare I say, fun! We both love Zinfandel wine. It is my favorite. Since Wilson produces over 30 different, you'll definitely find one you like. We sure did; we ended up buying multiple bottles. We wanted glasses too, but they were out (Wilson Winery, if you're reading this and you got a new shipment of glasses in, hit me back and I'll order some). Quaint grounds that overlook a sea of vineyards. It was a wonderful experience.

The spin-the-wheel game was a nice touch too. The wines were the real highlight. They had a strong lineup of new releases along with some excellent library wines open, which is always a treat and not something every winery offers. Ben and Yolanda are two of the nicest people in the industry--genuinely welcoming and easy to spend time with. We also had the chance to meet one of the growers they source Pinot from, which added another layer to the experience. Super down-to-earth, and everyone there was happy to talk wine and terroir as long as you wanted. Great people, great wines, and a really fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to.

Stuhlmuller is definitely a hidden gem! Came here with a friend for a tasting about a month ago, and we had a FABULOUS time! Their tasting room is located off the beaten path. The drive down Soda Rock lane is so beautiful! I had NO clue that this place was tucked all the way down there! Their grounds are the cutest. Their building is reminiscent of a bright red barnyard and the setting is extremely intimate. They've got comfy picnic tables that overlook their vineyards and the mountains. Colette was our host and she was outstanding. She was such an expert in the wines and detailed each one to the tee. She did a side by side pour for a few of the wines so that we could really taste the difference. This was one of those tastings where each and every wine just got better and better as the tasting went on. She started us off with Sauvignon Blanc. Traditionally, I've never really been a fan of Sauv Blanc, but even THAT was tasty here. Very minimal oak with a nice crispness too it. That's precisely how I love my white wines. And speaking of their white wines, ALL of their Chardonnays were fantastic. Even my friend who despises Chardonnay fell in love with the ones here. We found them to be delightfully floral, citrusy, and crisp. Perfect for summertime sippin'. As if their white wines weren't already enough; we went cray cray over their reds! Their Pinots, their Zins, those Cabs. Dayum... ALL were incredible. Most of their wines are small lot, small production, and single vineyard varietals. This is some high quality wine, folks! And let me tell you about their ZINFFANDEL!! Thejr Zinfandel definitely stole the show. We were hooked. Their 2016 Estate Zin was the ooooneee! We bought bottles of that. We had to. It was just that good. In fact, we ended up opening a bottle at Diavola for dinner that night. Yep! We could not WAIT to open that damn bottle of wine. It was absolutely delicious!!! While we were tasting, we had a little picnic and brought sandwiches from a local deli. This is definitely the perfect place to bring a picnic! Furry friends are welcome here too. It's such a relaxing atmosphere. It never got crowded but the few groups that were there were super friendly and seemed to really be enjoying themselves. When we stepped inside to check out the tasting room, Bryan took us on a little tour of their barrel room. I would have never known that an actual production site was hidden back there. The service is just top notch here. You will definitely get intimate and personalized service. Tastings are $20 and are waived with two bottle purchases. And TRUST me, it's sooo easy to buy at least two bottles here. Hell, you'll probably come out of there with much more than that. So impressed with Stuhlmuller! I will without a doubt be back again for more of that scrumptious wine.

It's a fun place with a lot of local products incorporated and history displayed on the walls. Our wine expert for this visit is a local man who works part time at Seamus on the weekends. He was able to teach us a bid about the local area, and was very educated on the artistic process behind the shamus product, including the artwork and labels for the wines , he had all three of our taste for the afternoon already pre-poured, which helped the time go quicker. They have a nice patio area in the back, and even had a lemon tree growing out there.

They also have a Sonoma Sampler Tasting if you are looking for more variety. You really can't go wrong because their wines are phenomenal! We absolutely love their wines and knew once we tried their wines that we had to visit the tasting room. We visited them in December and are so grateful that we did! Ainsley is the tasting room manager and was our wine educator when we visited. She did a phenomenal job sharing the story of Vaughn Duffy Wines and we loved learning about the wines we sipped. I also love that it's family owned and that even though the winemaker has no formal training, his wines are absolutely amazing. I guess some people just have a natural talent and Matt is definitely one of those people. Their wines are highly recommended by the San Francisco Chronicle, Wine Spectator, Wine and Spirits Magazine, and more. They were a winner of the best of the best a few years ago at the North Coast Wine Challenge- their 2021 Bacigalupi Pinot Noir. When I travel I like to taste whatever is unique to that place -- something I might not be able to get at home. Also, since I sort of tilt towards white wine when I have wine (not often), I thought I ought to try the Pinot Noir tasting -- and Chris, who was so warm and knowledgeable, supported that choice with enthusiasm. I learned a lot about these wines, this wine maker, and the area, and also, not for nothing, LOVED each wine I tasted. Am I a pinot noir convert? Maybe? That rose was also terrific. Great pace, great storytelling, and, reader, I bought the wine(s). So many places to choose from in this neck of the woods -- I feel like I picked a winner!
