Nice modern coffee spot. They have art on display, board games, a Netflix spot, and copious amounts of caffeine. It's my sort of dreamland. We both got the Nola, a cold brew with cream/some spices. We were told is offered in just black but they offer the sweeter version too. The service was friendly and our drinks were great. We sampled several baked goods, the macaroons were yummy fantasticalness but the cookies and bar were on the outskirts of yum land. Not so far out but just not good. The parking lot around the side is a bit tight if you're in a larger vehicle, but this is still a nice local coffee spot. My bar for a good coffee stop- good coffee, friendly people, and perhaps a place to rest the bum to take a few sips of said coffee to avoid more set in splashes in the car- this place has all 3. I'd recommend it. The friendliness of the staff and Netflix station earn bonus points. read more

This place has a delicious and fun menu, and great service! I asked if they could do a sugar-free chai latte. I was not expecting them to say they could, so I was fine when they said no. So instead I just ordered a drip coffee, and they served it to me free of charge. This is great customer service in my eyes- when a customer cannot get exactly what they came looking for, it doesn't hurt to give them a drink on the house that would've cost about $2.50. I even went back to the counter about halfway through my coffee to ask for some cream, and the nice lady said if she gives me too much cream to just bring it back and she'll make an entire new one. Totally unnecessary but a very nice thing to offer. I loved the entire area- historic downtown McKinney has a lot to offer. This coffee place was super cute. Our new favorite coffeehouse! i tried the iced Nola, which has chicory, at the recommendation of the owners and it was fabulous. My boyfriend tried the hot Honey Vanilla latte and it was pretty fabulous as well. We are giving up Snug and making this our new go-to coffee place. This is a friendly place. Best place I've encountered to get a cup of coffee in McKinney. Even the drip was good. The staff is kind and personable. Lots of integration with the arts, too, especially music. There's a mini recording studio within the shop. Overall, the style and atmosphere is great. I work on the square and stop in here often. I've never met a staff member who wasn't helpful, friendly, and informative. Easily, hands-down, inarguably the best espresso, latte, and macchiato I've ever had. They also have an excellent pastry selection and their daily-made juices are phenomenal. I honestly can't say enough good about this place. The best experience at Filtered is going when Maxie (Sorry if I misspell your name!), the owner, is there. Tell him two of your favorite flavors, whether you want it iced or hot, and watch him work some serious magic in a stainless steel or ceramic cup. If culinary ethics is your thing, they do everything possible to use local, fresh, organic, and in-season ingredients. To be frank, none of the above matters to me when it comes to good food, but in this case, it's easy to see the difference it makes. I recommend Filtered to anyone who is even just a little curious about a good cup of coffee. Get your education here, and never regret it! read more

Walked in excited to try out this place, heard good things about it being good coffee and a cute space. Was then unfortunately completely dissuaded from our excitement the moment the young blonde girl behind the counter made a below the belt comment to another customer about some regulars. She mentioned something along the lines of their physical appearance, judging how much coffee they get, their pastry choice. After hearing that we feel like we ducked out for the better. The staff is super friendly. There is 1 guy there that makes very nice latte foam designs. The coffee prices I find good. The plain lattes are delicious (I sometimes add honey)! Decor: Very modern cool, clean, new. Music is selection piped over speakers is very cool (lack of better word). The brick exposed indoors is from the original building (took man hours I'm told to expose the brick) is a very cool aspect! Bathrooms clean with Simply Human modern soap dispensers (yes I noticed). I wish: The seats were padded. The seating had some private elements. But please, this is a very nice place! I give this a 4, only because I wish they were open more like the big chain hours. But, they are on the McKinney Historic Square, so their limited hours probably are required. This is a date friendly place to go to! These people are very welcoming! read more

My boyfriend was a little disappointed by this place because he was expecting Starbucks and very disappointed with his tiny little cup. I tried to explain to him that as Americans that frequent Starbucks, you're not actually supposed to be drinking a venti of coffee. There was a cute little board on the counter that explained all the different types of drinks, which was so helpful. I love coffee (second favorite drink behind water!) but I am no connoisseur. It explained the difference between an espresso, Americano, Cortado, etc. I always wondered but always felt dumb asking! We both got espressos and they were delicious! My boyfriend was completely put off by the fact that it was just espresso and no syrup or sugar. He was not a big fan. I, however, loved it and put some sugar in his so he would drink it haha The decor seems very hipster-esque and simple. It was pretty vacant when we visited. They have awesome (free) flavored water which was the bomb too. I'd go back, if I can drag my boyfriend to go with me haha read more
