One photo, and a review that will have filler words just to make sure it hits the 85 word count,…read morewhich is what qualifies it for a review. I travel. It's a LOVE's. It's not unlike any other LOVE's. If you travel as well, you already know. Most people have their go-to's always. Loves, Pilot, Flying J etc.

I worked at this location for three years. I put in my two…read moreweeks in and I have worked them out. During that time I repeatedly saw serious food-safety and sanitation problems that management failed to fix, even after I reported them. Multiple times we were told by food-service management to change the dates on food that was supposed to go out that morning, and it was relabeled and used instead of being thrown away. I also saw one employee who uses the floor as a table for food. This also happens in front of food service managers, I personally told the employee multiple times in a single day that this was a health-code violation; she kept doing it and no corrective action was taken by management. I have seen rats, cockroaches, and other insects in areas where they should never be present. There has been visible mold in the cooler, including on the shelves where drinks are stored and grabbed by customers. I observed employees touching their phones, faces, and clothing and then preparing food for customers without washing their hands Sometime this is after they put on plastic gloves especially in subway I've also employees fail wash their hand or temperature gauges before handling the roller grill All oil in restaurants is to be boiled out weekly and changed with new oil I have pictures of evidence showing this is NOT happening! The oil is rancid and smells very strong but still the manger will not let you change it. A lot of people have complained about feeling sick after eating from Chester's as that is what we have at this time. The bathrooms are frequently dirty. Cashiers are supposed to check them every hour, but this is often skipped and the restrooms stay dirty all day. I have personally seen human feces on the walls. Also included in the pictures I brought these issues up to upper management, HR, and my direct managers. Nothing was done. Not just myself I personally know multiple employees that brought this up to management including emailing HR and NOTHING was done. The store is thoroughly prepared for corporate and company walk-throughs, then conditions quickly return to the same poor state afterward. My recommendation: Do not eat here. If you use the restroom, use a seat cover. If you get a canned drink, wipe it down. Keep YOUR children close. Truck stops can already feel uncomfortable, especially with kids. Please be careful you never know what is happening when no one is looking. I would like to put I was not fired from this store I quit on my own terms for better employment this is not for revenge it is for everyone to clearly see what type of store you are eating from. I personally cannot speak for other loves but I know personally that the one in Baird Texas is this way. I have worked here and seen horrifying things and, I feel as management will do nothing about it so I've make it known publicly so you can make these decisions for yourself. Here are the pictures

Typical work scenario for me. I'm minding my own business in the warehouse when one of the bosses…read morewalks out and says GO HERE NOW! Loaded up a truck and headed to Winters, TX. Can't remember if I've ever been through this town. Typical drive in Texas where I'm stuck behind 18 wheelers and of course at least one farm tractor for miles. Coordinating with my coworker who was driving in from Plainview for pickup we literally texted each other with a two minute difference in arrival time. The Crossing was the first gas station / convenience store I saw in town. Pulled in and once the exchange was done we ventured in for a potty break and drinks. First time seeing a salad bar in this type of business. And, it actually looked appealing! We've all traveled major roads in whatever state you're from. Yes, I've snickered at gas station sushi in Mississippi. There are things you DON'T want in this setting. Yet, The Crossing made it look seamless. Clean bathrooms at least on the mens side. Usual suspects like Hunt Brothers pizza present and a glass case full of fried goodness too. I think they do burgers too? We grabbed drinks not big enough for a million stops to return and went our separate ways. Ten employees working but nobody was super friendly.

Not as big as a Buccee's, but it does have clean restrooms, fuel at competitive prices, all kinds of snacks, drinks, hot food, souvenirs and miscellaneous items you may need while on the road. There is a dine in seating area as well as an outside covered dining area, a dog park, and plenty of walkways to stretch your legs. The employees I met were very friendly and helpful. I'll certainly be returning when I'm in the area.
