Their "Texas Kitchen " has food to go or dine in. I had not planned on doing breakfast here, but they offer huge portions of well cooked food. I got a breakfast plate which was so generous I could not finish it all. The employees are friendly and helpful, even taking your groceries to your car. They also offer curbside pick-up. I have been in several other smaller United grocery stores which were great, but this one is much larger and offers more. At home we have an excellent grocery store popular in Texas and known by three letters. But if this United grocery store was in our town I would shop here.

So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)! We also snagged some items to take home with us from their coolers and I can 100% recommend their pork tamales and summer sausage. If you get the chance to stop here, you won't regret it at all! I was only able to eat half, so there was definitely leftovers. And since I was so full, that means dessert had to be to go. Most places now charge seven or eight dollars for a piece of cake. It had little chunks of maybe onion and tomato. Of course it was nice and warm and filled to the top. This place is right by my job so I will be ordering from here again.
