On a Wednesday evening, the place was more than half full, which is a good sign. I was probably the only one who wasn't a local. I ordered the steak "Mae's way," which is fried on the flattop instead of deep fried. There was a nice crust on the outside, but otherwise, it was not much different than any other country fried steak. I can't fault the quality of the food, but I didn't find it to be anything special. The side order of green beans was a little disappointing: canned-quality bean with little ham for flavor. Again, not bad, but not anything I'd hurry back to reorder. I'll be back in town again and will probably go back to try something else - the meatloaf special that day looked pretty good.
