Staff wanted to seat us in the open air part, close to the very front of the restaurant. Since it was hot, we asked for, and were accommodated at a table in the middle of the restaurant, under the needed air conditioning!! We started off with two tapas; the Padron Peppers, $87, and the White Anchovies, $74. While the pepper dish was ample in size, it was incredibly boring in taste. However, the large sardines were expertly seasoned and enjoyable. For our main, we shared a non-meat version of the Seafood Paella, $338. This was delicioso y mui excellante! For dessert, we shared a Date Pudding, $70. This too was excellent. See photos. All in all a very comfortable place to dine. Service was adequate, as the staff had an attitude, yet food was impressive, thus the rating of 4 stars.

They also have a good wine list that's affordable by the glass. We were a bit peckish one Sunday afternoon so we stopped by and ordered their tasting platter, which had 30 g each of serrano, lomo, chorizo, and salchichon iberico. It was served with some hearty bread slices and gherkins. I wish they could add some cheeses, but after all they are named "Iberico" so I guess I'll let it slide, haha. As it's along the escalators, it's a nice spot to chill over drinks and small plates while you people watch. If you're lucky, you might even witness some tourists who trip and fall at the end of the escalator because they were clearly not paying attention while taking selfies! (Yes, I've seen this happen before and it is schadenfreude at it's finest!)

This is often a tough thing to find in HK. Rum is not too common here. The menu looked interesting but not really my type of food. A wide selection of choices at good prices. Where as the other stellar spots offer a more intimate experience and tighter spaces, PDP is wide open with their layout. So wide as a matter of fact, that they're one of the few places that can truly be outdoor and indoor at the same time. Plenty of folks come here to booze, chill, and people watch, all of which could be considered pastimes of mine. Start it off with their specialty sangrias (hello rosé sangria), which aren't limited to red and white, but also beer as well. The latter is a bit of a surprise, and the taste is an extra kick (ginger beer?) that makes less beer-y but more cocktail'y. The rest of the drinks are mainly beers, frozen drinks, martinis, and cocktails. There are mocktails available for the non-alcoholic folks and a decent wine selection for people who aren't feeling the sangria. Pro-Tip: Happy Hour goes from 12pm-9pm. That's nine hours of easy drinking bliss. Food wise, I would venture their menu is more international than it is basque. Spanish tapas are certainly available here but they have pastas, pizzas, and sandiwches that are a solid complement to the drinks. Anything with their imported Iberico Ham is a safe be and the paella is extremely filling. The weekends can get pretty crowded and on some days they rock football / soccer matches. Bank on the friendly service (which is never a guarantee in HK) and do yourself a favor and indulge in their weekday happy hour and/or discounted brunch (30% off!).

Too bad we weren't hungry by this point and were just looking for a night cap. Mokum was a pretty happening place, even though the night was just getting started. We asked to be seated right in the front, of course that's where the best people watching is found! While that is the plus side to sitting near the street, the downside was those sitting nearby smoking. It basically feels like you're sitting outdoors with a roof, I still hate the smell of smoke when I'm trying to enjoy a drink, worse when eating. The surrounding tables were filled as most were further inside. Yes, it's nearly an open air restaurant front facing the busy Wyndham Street, this place calls itself a "Dutch -European Bar Concept". I really liked their vibe and wished we had started the night here, because the food selections looked amazing and different. Our nightcaps: Hubby opted for an old fashioned and said it was good. I went with Makers on the rocks but it's hard to go wrong there. We really need to come back here because I'm sure this is a great place to watch a sporting event or an after work happy hour. Plus I want to try out some of their food items to really give it an honest review. But so far, Mokum, I like what I see of you so far!

Walked by and decided to pop in for a drink on the patio. Nice place with great staff!read more

Again a place which let me leave with mixed feelings…read more Small cosy place with a nice atmosphere. Compared to another place on the same road no moldy smell. I passed by this place several times and it as usually always full. Today I thought I have to give it a try. The staff is very friendly, only one table was free and I had no problem getting the table. The menu is relatively condensed- but I personally like this as this makes sure your not getting some old left overs. But the staff should be more knowledgeable on they have on the menu. Especially when you have dishes of the day. I asked the waiter what the soup de jour is and he said - pumpkin soup. So I decided to take the onion soup. 2 minutes later the guests at the left table asked the same question and another waiter said cauliflower soup. Maybe it's not the soup of the day - it's the soup the hour - and the hour moved on. As a starter they Server a small hot baguette - I have to say very nice taste and texture. The onion soup arrived very fast. Nothing to be remembered. A watery soup with a slide bitter taste and chewy cheese on top. The main dish were mussels, they could have been the star of the evening but the quality was to mixed. I had the 500 g portion. First all the good things about them: 0 empty shell - not like in other places where they cheat you with 500 g or more but a lot of the shells are empty. The taste of the majority of the mussels was great. The mussels itself and the soup they were made in. Very balanced. Now the but: Quite a lot of the mussels were not cleaned well, they were sandy. I would also explain etc that the kitchen would take out all closed mussels - I had 7 closed once. Now that the real star of the evening: The mouse au chocolate - great taste, very fluffy and light. I think I need another visit to see if the less optimal areas were normal or just a human error.

We went with French and it was not a bad decision, it was a great choice! Restaurant was not too big but there were tables available during our dinner time and we did not have to wait in line or book prior to being seated. There are plenty of option for dinner but I forgot what they were and did not take picture of the menu. We had a complimentary toasted bread and butter. We then ordered a plate of Escargot to share, I ordered a Ribeye with fries and a Kronenbourg 1664 Beer. The escargot was very delicious or probably I was very hungry, but definitely the taste of it was great and there was the buttery oil coming out of it that made it that much more good. The ribeye was epic paired with the butter sauce I got and it was very tender and very satisfying for my appetite. The fries were perfect as well not soggy or too salty and just right for fries. The beer? Well that was great as well, who wouldn't enjoy a beer paired with a nice dinner?! By the time I finished eating and drinking, I was very full indeed and this was a perfect dinner! Location: around the SOHO area and there are many different types of restaurant as well, but you wouldn't go wrong with Bouchon. Service was very good, order was fast and food came out pretty quick as well. Clean and atmosphere was very nice, there are high tables and also regular tables for seating and a small bar as well. Overall, if I was looking for a nice little dinner and French dinner this would be the place! Price wise was not too bad but have to thank my cousin for that, with much appreciation! Dinner was just plain awesome! And your appetite will definitely be fulfilled and your gonna have a good night sleep after eating at Bouchon Bistro Francais!
