Often I find myself at odds with Michelin's rankings, but not this time. Amber is an exquisite restaurant, with food, service and wine that all deserve the acclaim they've received. The ten-course tasting menu was spot on, with every course (and the many unbilled amuse bouche and petit four bites) all scoring high marks. The accompanying six-wine Burgundy pairing was the most educational wine pairing I've ever encountered. What a treat to be able to compare, side by side: Bourgogne Rose Chablis "Les Clos" Chassagne-Montrachet Puligny-Montrachet Meursault Nuits-St-Georges Gevrey-Chambertin We also started with a bottle of Taittinger Le Comtes Champagne The wine list is one of the best I've encountered, well organized, and with a range of prices. Service was professional yet not stiff, and everyone was obviously very proud of their fine restaurant.

Amber has won a number of accolades including two Michelin stars and inclusion in the Worlds 50 best restaurants list. It is widely considered the best western restaurant in Hong Kong. I was really excited to eat here for the first time. With all the hype, my expectations were really high. Objectively speaking the food here is exquisite and the service and atmosphere are top notch. However, I don't feel like I was blown away and wowed by any part of the meal. My four star rating is based on the following criteria: Food/presentation: 4 stars Environment and service: 4.5 stars Value: 4 stars I came for the weekend lunch menu and wine pairing. The price for the meal was less than I was expecting. The first dishes that came out were a series of amuse bouche. Each item was delicately prepared and pleasing to the eye. The bites were all tasty but nothing memorable. The bread and butter is one of the best I've had in Hong Kong (the butter in particular). I was expecting to be blown away by the cavier and uni dish. It definitely was tasty but with those ingredients paired together I was really expecting a labour bomb of richness and brininess. My favourite dish was the fish. It was perfectly cooked and the fish came off flake by flake with a soft touch of my fork. The desserts were all solid. They were pretty to look at and tasted good. Nothing that I would rank as a top dessert I've ever had. Overall, Amber is a must try restaurant in Hong Kong. I had a great meal and glad I went. The fact that I'm not dying to go back is a good gin that I don't think it is a five star restaurant.

A well deserved Michelin rated restaurant. Located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel, Amber was recently re-opened with a new look and updated menu to compliment this 2.0 redux. Although the restaurant is categorized as French, the prix fixe course was more of a Japanese/French fusion. But, no issues there since chef Ekkebus blends fresh Japanese ingredients with traditional French techniques to turn out an amazing tasting experience to bring out the best: umami with a French flair. I was in town for a visit and was blessed to have been able to enjoy such an unforgettable experience. For our dining experience we had the Extended Amber Experience. Although the prix fixe list was extensive the portions were just right and compliments each other as you progressed through the dishes. The Extended Experience is highly recommended in order to fully enjoy chef Ekkebus' Umami Flair.

My husband and I have made it our goal to dine in as many fine restaurants as we can during our travels, and I must say that Amber is worthy of its reputation. Impeccable service, excellent meal. Every dish is expertly presented to you, and is pleasing to the eye and the palate! We went for the lunch set menu (only available during the week), which was an economical choice, while still allowing us to indulge in the Amber experience. Upon making my reservation a few weeks earlier, I had noted that I did not eat red meat, which was not forgotten and mentioned by our server as we were seated. Loved the modern decor of the restaurant. Even the washroom smelled divine. I find that some times, especially at some of the higher end restaurants, you may leave your meal not feeling quite full, but I was surprised to say that I was quite satisfied at the end. I will definitely return the next time I am in Hong Kong. Make your reservation ahead of time. I had to make mine 2 weeks in advance.

4.5 stars. Would be 5 stars if the desserts were stronger. I had a birthday dinner for my mum here, which is a super special occasion as I live very far away and never celebrate her birthday properly with her. Since it's late fall, they happen to have a scrumptious white truffle menu, and we opted for that. This is definitely a good find for fancy dinner in Hong Kong. It has two michelin stars, and the menu is very creative. It's certainly not the best restaurant I've been to, but there were a lot of memorable moments during the meal. For example, the amuse bouche that came on a piece of wood or on a pine cone. Or the cuttlefish cut into long ribbons and tossed in carbonara sauce (screw zucchini pasta, this is the stuff). Or perhaps the whole white Alba truffle which belonged to our table, that they shave onto each single dish served. The server painstakingly took time to explain every single dish and detail, showing us the insides of our truffle (which, unfortunately, wasn't the red that indicated best quality, but there is apparently no way to tell until you shave it). Besides the truffles, the dishes had a variety of ingredients which were rarer in Hong Kong -- the server was so surprised when I correctly described the Jerusalem artichoke after he mentioned it, he jumped. The menu was heavy on the appetizers and savories, and only had one sweet dish accompanied by petit fours. To be honest, dessert is their weakest link. The panna cotta was good but the white truffle ice cream barely tasted like truffle. Could it be that I got truffle fatigue by this point of the meal? The petit fours were also overly sweet for the Asian palette and lacked any surprised. All-in-all, it was a very expensive meal, but well worth a visit for a celebration. Unfortunately, I can think of multiple Michelin two-star restaurants that I favor over this place (in different cities), so I definitely think they could do better.

2 Michelin star fine dining French restaurant in Landmark. Went here for lunch and would say the experience was good but not stunning. Quality of food was very good though overall felt like some of the executions could be better / dishes could be more creative. Nonetheless, they all taste great and are all artwork / beautifully and delicately presented. Details below: - Hamachi starter is fresh, light and delicate - Pasta - vegetarian gnocchi was the highlight for me - many components but they all come together very well - Beef - perfectly cooked and a gorgeous presentation though not the best fine dining beef I have had - Desserts - many dessert courses - all good but not stunning Service, however, was quite sub-par for a restaurant of this price / quality. Servers were standard good but not particularly nice / attentive that I would expect from this type of restaurant.

We were thrilled when it all started off so well.... The ambiance was lovely, and the food we were able to eat in the 10-course tasting menu was spot on, including the classic wine pairing. We made it to the foie gras course and then, we waited over a half hour for the wagyu. Yes, you read that right...we waited a bloody 40 MINUTES for the main course at a restaurant which has 2 Michelin stars. Having been to several Michelin star restaurants around the world, this is simply unacceptable. Guests seated after us received all their food and had gone. My husband finally had to flag down a sommelier to let him know that we had been waiting for over half an hour. The wagyu course was (rather surprisingly) quickly brought to us - did they belong to other guests who arrived after us, I wonder - without much of an explanation. It saddens me to have to rate this restaurant so low because the food/presentation and wine were so fantastic. (The only other Michelin-rated restaurant I had to rate lower than 4 stars was Caelis in Barcelona where we waited twenty minutes between two courses; Caelis' cardinal sin was serving a new hot fish course where the red mullet was raw in the middle. However, we actually got through their entire menu.) The pacing of the courses in the first half of dinner was perfect. But service for our table coming to a grinding halt right before the main course for whatever reason for so long is completely unacceptable. Until tonight, Caelis was our most disappointing Michelin experience. Tonight, Amber sadly now has that distinction as we never got to taste the main or finish our dinner. We asked for the check because waiting more than half an hour in between courses is unheard of in restaurants, and definitely not in the Michelin world. They tried to talk us into staying and finishing our dinner, but there really is no recovery for something like this. How does the staff of a 2-Michelin star restaurant just forget a table of diners in the middle of service? I must say that the restaurant manager, Yannick, was very professionally apologetic and expressed a desire to give us the dining experience that we had expected to enjoy tonight. We agreed that we would visit again for lunch in a couple of days because we are pretty certain tonight's debacle is not typical for Amber. I will update my rating after that, as I expect a much different experience.

On the last night of my two week vacation to Japan and Hong Kong, what better way was there to spend it other than one of the top 50 world's best restaurants with two Michelin stars? I came here with two girlfriends for the set menu on a Monday night and we were definitely not disappointed. I would go so far as to say that it was one of the best meals of my life! One of my favorites right off the bat was a glass of tomato water that tasted like tomato soup even though it was completely clear (how do they do that?) which was served an amuse-bouche. Other highlights were the violin zucchini (I didn't realize how much I was missing avocado in my Asia life until that dish!), cuttlefish a la carbonara, miyazaki wagyu beef, comte cheese on the french unpasteurized cheese plate, olive bread that was served as much as we wanted, lemon & thyme ice cream with a.o.c. sollies figs and dulcet chocolate. Ok, so this was over half of the set menu. :) But, I can't help it! All of it was delicious. I also have to give a shout out to our servers - Jeffrey & Fagan. We didn't feel the least bit neglected for a minute and they did an amazing job at showing three ladies a wonderful night! They even brought us some small bites (chocolates, pineapple cake, etc.) to take for the road. If you resemble a foodie in any way shape or form, you must visit this restaurant on your trip to Hong Kong!

We had a wonderful tasting menu experience For the price point, I would expect there to be at most one miss on a dish but there were probably two. I would say the highlight for me was the uni dish for sure. I don't rate for service but the service was top notch. The two misses were the oyster which didn't have the best flavor and the poached Foie Gras. Also, the starting salt thing needs to go. Dinner * Amuse bouche salt ice (Bad) * Amuse bouche lemon meringue (Excellent) * Amuse bouche on spoon (Excellent) * Amuse bouche sprouts (Excellent) * Egg pudding (Ok) * Bread (Excellent) * Cheese app (Excellent) * Oyster (Ok) * Uni (Excellent) * Octopus (Excellent) * Foie gras (Ok) * Wagyu beef (Excellent) * Squash transition (Excellent!) * Fruit dessert (Ok) * Chocolate (Excellent) * Sorbet (Excellent)

Pigeon Au Sang with fukuoka vegetables and salmis sauce

One of the best restaurants in the world surely meets those standards. I came in for the lunch special which I thought was a pretty solid deal for being a restaurant for its top caliber. Made a reservation, got in on time was promptly seated. The server came to us with the lunch options and I opted for the Pigeon Au Sang. Delicious. Wonderfully crafted and the ingredients were just exquisite. I also opted for the Hokkado sea urchin with lobster jell-o cauliflower caviar. Was like another $40 for that side but it was really worth it. First time trying caviar and what can I say, it was really good. The ambiance was amazing. Restaurant was quiet even though every other table was filled, you can't hear anyone else. Worth a shot when in Hong Kong, and again, for San Pellingrino's top restaurant in the world, the price was surely worth it.

    Chef's tasting!

Beautiful presentation, dishes were fun, but a few times the presentation took away from the taste and felt "gimmicky". I came here with my family when we were visiting HK. The interior is absolutely spacious and gorgeous and the restaurant definitely lives up to its status as one of the best restaurants in one of the most luxurious hotels in HK. We all tried the chef tasting and were greeted with many different dishes ranging from exotic seafood to high-grade wagyu beef. Between each major dish were pallet cleansers that were extremely fun and creative. The A5-wagyu and foie gras simply melted in my mouth, and dinner was topped off with many mouth-watering deserts. The service also earns extra points for explaining all of the dishes with so much enthusiasm and knowledge. My only gripe was that some of the dishes had "so much going on" that it took away from some of the ingredients. One such dish was a plate of oysters served inside of a block of ice which was essentially made out of lemon juice. The taste of lemon severely and unnecessarily overpowered the taste of oyster that I might as well have been served frozen lemonade. Otherwise, the food was great, company was great, and it was a great experience!

almost very definitely the best meal I had last year. food delicious, service fantastic, ambiance terrific. top stars and major ticks in every box. numbero four-no on the san pelligrino's top 50 list for asia, the process started off easy-peasy with online reservations, and rapid response in the form of a courteous, personal email that noted my mention of my BFF's (aren't you honored, stef) birthday celebration. we arrived at the mandarin oriental to a beautiful restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows, all wood and lush textures - very tasteful and elegant, and so much beautiful light coming through at lunchtime. I've found that although some snobs people turn their noses up at the lunch sets, they very often are a measure of just how good the restaurant can be, even when you aren't ordering their most expensive entrees - and how professional their wait staff are in serving you, regardless of what you've ordered. so we did that here, a four-course weekday set meal that started with two glossy-red balls of beetroot-raspberry-pate mousse on lollypop sticks, a selection of warm bread, and tiny pastry tubes with crab and avocado puree. we had a couple bowls of soup, a creamy white asparagus one served with beautiful sprigs of coriander and a delicate tuile topped with tiny shrimp - and one that looked like a veritable garden. the portions are more than reasonable, beautiful, and generous enough for you to feel like you're feasting, without any too-early satiety as a result. our mains followed at a leisurely pace, a simple fillet of amberjack seared and served with roasted carrots, and how-is-it-possible tender cuts of pork served with morels and a dark au jus. when a meal is this good - I usually worry about dessert, which for me is the most important part of the meal (and the one from which I take the most memories). completely irrelevant here, as it turned out - we started with sticks of housemade magnum, a melange of cut berries and meringue shells over a shallow pool of silky berry consomme and jelly, and a deeply, darkly luxurious triangle of chocolate entremet that had crunchy, rich insides, a glossy black ganache, and served alongside coconut sorbet. always so gratifying when flavours live up to both appearance and expectation. we also, greedily, ordered a chocolate souffle to share - and it was ephemeral, and a very good choice if you're looking for something both sweet and light to finish off what had already been a delicious, fantastic, best-this-year kind of meal. I mentioned earlier that this was a birthday celebration (Steffi's!), and the lovely people at amber so graciously brought us a three-tiered display of tiny bon bons, meringues and jellies alike, as well as an elegant box of the most adorable pink macaroons. service is top of its class - friendly, helpful, and warm without being intrusive; and the space is both elegant enough for a business do, and intimate enough for dining with friends. the best experience for a while yet - almost on par with my favorite gordon ramsay at royal hospital road (and I think that the highest praise possible).

A buddy suggested it for our Sunday brunch venue, and I was down for trying somewhere new in the neighbourhood. Down the steps of Shin Hing Street, you'll find a plethora of restaurants, from Cocote to The Mixing Bowl, along with some funky galleries and shops. It's one of my favourite streets in Hong Kong to explore with its shady trees and eclectic cred. Basically, I was already in a happy mood and I walked into the most gorgeous restaurant with a cool atmosphere. If you're like me, and have a thing for all things kookie, you'll love the tiles to the hand drawn artwork on the walls to the toilet doors. I made my way upstairs, thinking my pal would already be there, he wasn't ... But the waiter was... And he spoke wiz ze French accent. *heart melt*. I adore an accent, and it just made me appreciate the restaurant even more as it offers French cuisine by French people. Hells yes. I was really after eggs today, and boy was there a selection. I opted for the poached egg with wild asparagus and Parma ham. Bon oeuf, they were spectacular. The eggs were perfectly runny, maybe even verging on scrambled yet poached (we have coined the phrase scroached) with a salty flavour from the Parma ham that hit every tastebud and sent it tingling. The asparagus was fresh and crunchy, adding another layer to the dish. Served alongside the meal is a basket of the bread baked fresh in the kitchen with a dob of salted butter that is out of this world. I mean, butter is butter right... Wait till you've tasted this butter. It was so scrumptious I even asked where it's from. Sadly the server didn't know, but I think it's a ruse to keep us going back (although I was offered some for takeaway). Finally, I have to make mention of my ice latte. It was spectacular, with a little sweetness and coffee beans as decoration, it was the perfect combination to my utterly delectable meal. Merci bien, I will return to sample their dinner menu (I mean cheese!).

My company said that they thought that the food wasn't spectacular and that they could simply create the same food in their home. I'd rather have someone make it for me. LOL. Its a small place so maybe 9 - 10 people would be the biggest group they could accommodate comfortably. We had 8 people. I passed by this place several times and it as usually always full. Today I thought I have to give it a try. The staff is very friendly, only one table was free and I had no problem getting the table. The menu is relatively condensed- but I personally like this as this makes sure your not getting some old left overs. But the staff should be more knowledgeable on they have on the menu. Especially when you have dishes of the day. I asked the waiter what the soup de jour is and he said - pumpkin soup. So I decided to take the onion soup. 2 minutes later the guests at the left table asked the same question and another waiter said cauliflower soup. Maybe it's not the soup of the day - it's the soup the hour - and the hour moved on. As a starter they Server a small hot baguette - I have to say very nice taste and texture. The onion soup arrived very fast. Nothing to be remembered. A watery soup with a slide bitter taste and chewy cheese on top. The main dish were mussels, they could have been the star of the evening but the quality was to mixed. I had the 500 g portion. First all the good things about them: 0 empty shell - not like in other places where they cheat you with 500 g or more but a lot of the shells are empty. The taste of the majority of the mussels was great. The mussels itself and the soup they were made in. Very balanced. Now the but: Quite a lot of the mussels were not cleaned well, they were sandy. I would also explain etc that the kitchen would take out all closed mussels - I had 7 closed once. Now that the real star of the evening: The mouse au chocolate - great taste, very fluffy and light. I think I need another visit to see if the less optimal areas were normal or just a human error.

We went with French and it was not a bad decision, it was a great choice! Restaurant was not too big but there were tables available during our dinner time and we did not have to wait in line or book prior to being seated. There are plenty of option for dinner but I forgot what they were and did not take picture of the menu. We had a complimentary toasted bread and butter. We then ordered a plate of Escargot to share, I ordered a Ribeye with fries and a Kronenbourg 1664 Beer. The escargot was very delicious or probably I was very hungry, but definitely the taste of it was great and there was the buttery oil coming out of it that made it that much more good. The ribeye was epic paired with the butter sauce I got and it was very tender and very satisfying for my appetite. The fries were perfect as well not soggy or too salty and just right for fries. The beer? Well that was great as well, who wouldn't enjoy a beer paired with a nice dinner?! By the time I finished eating and drinking, I was very full indeed and this was a perfect dinner! Location: around the SOHO area and there are many different types of restaurant as well, but you wouldn't go wrong with Bouchon. Service was very good, order was fast and food came out pretty quick as well. Clean and atmosphere was very nice, there are high tables and also regular tables for seating and a small bar as well. The tables are all set up with small clusters of organic tomatoes in the center, the idea being that the guests would enjoy them with olive oil as a starter. It's relatively new in Hong Kong, having just opened this October 2018 - it has already been nominated as the Tatler's Readers' Choice award for Best New Restaurant. Nigerian born Chef Patron Raphael Duntoye has outdone himself with his extraordinary menu. We started with the Beignets de fleurs which are lightly battered (crispy on the outside, soft inside) friend zucchini flowers. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I could eat these daily. The Crevettes Tièdes à l'Huile d'Olive - warm prawns with olive oil were so tasty and seasoned just right, so we could taste the freshness of the sea with the olive oil. Carpaccio de Sériole - yellowtail carpacio had just the right amount of thinly sliced hot pepper to give it that extra emphasis. Divine. Poivrons Marinés à l'Huile d'Olive the roasted peppers were smoky flavored but not charred so we enjoyed the freshness of the peppers untarnished. Betteraves Marinées marinated beetroot tasted roasted and marinated and was bursting with flavor. Coquelet aux citrons confits baby chicken with lemon confit was aromatic and tender with a slightly crispy skin. Delicious. White truffles in pasta - what words could describe the wonder affiliated with tasting this amazing dish? The pan fried dover sole was fragrant and tasted like it was just caught within the hour - the freshness was unmatched. To top it all, we had the passion fruit, coconut and mango sorbet with their signature French toast, which tasted like the top of a creme brulee. This has now become my favorite restaurant in Hong Kong. It is that good.

Luckily for me, the L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong is 3 Michelin stars and also affordable (relative to its reputation). I decided to come here for lunch with my wife as my first ever 3 Michelin star experience. I reserved a lunch reservation about a month in advance. The restaurant is very romantic and fancy. We were seated at a bar style counter, and we were escorted to our seats. The staff were all very attentive. Many were multi-lingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. We ended up each ordering the lowest cost lunch tasting menu with one amuse bouche, one appetizer, one soup, one entree, and a dessert. We also each got a drink. I got a mocktail with lychee and mint which was an amazing palate cleanser between courses. The amuse bouche was a cracker with uni on top. The uni was very soft like Hokkaido uni and the cracker went well with the soft texture of the uni. We had a complimentary bread basket with a variety of different breads, all of which were amazing. I loved the croissants. For my own appetizer I chose the salmon caviar. I've never had that much caviar in my life in one sitting, it was amazing. My wife got the yellowtail carpaccio which was also amazing. The soup was a mushroom style soup with foam and a single matsutake mushroom. Soup was savory, rich, and a delight to the senses. We both got the pigeon entree. I'd never had pigeon before, my wife did but said she did not like it before. She loved this pigeon though, which was cooked slightly on the rarer to medium rare side. The pigeon was super soft. It was also wrapped with foie gras which made it decadent and rich. For dessert I chose coffee and also the coffee ice cream dessert with gelato, coffee crumble, and coffee jelly. Super rich but quite tasty. The coffee also came with a variety of small sweet snacks. Joel Robuchon truly lived up to its hype, and was well worth the cost. I will definitely come back.

It is one of the best croissant I have around the world. I love dessert. I was a bit disappointed when they change the Earl Grey Cream Dome to the new square version. The cake layer distribution in the new cube version is just now as good as the dome version. There are more cream than cake/chocolate ball crunch ratio. It is still good, I just prefer the dome version. I also tried their green tea red bean roll cake and that is not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I also tried their latte. Not my cup of tea again. It is below average for a latte drink. I mean it is better than Starbucks (and way better than McDonalds), but not up to the average latte level for a coffee shop. I could hand whisk a latte better than theirs, and given they have the machine... I have higher expectations. BTW I have been there 3 times during my Hong Kong visit, and by the 3rd time, they have a promotion where basically the drink combo is like HKD$20 cheaper (roughly). Not a driving force for me to buy their drink. I will opt'ed for the drink downstairs instead. Service is great. I will return.

Kudos to the chef on the presentation and flavors but the ingredients they used were clearly no longer at it's prime. I tried to let that slide as it was a rainy Monday after a long weekend so they probably are trying to get rid of their week old frozen meats. What I am trying to wrap my head around is the lack of service when I came through the door. The waiter was busy socializing and didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered. The dining room was 80% empty but when I told him I had a reservation he just randomly pointed me to this corner table that was plopped against a wall. He attitude later changed and got friendlier so maybe he was just caught up in a very important conversation earlier. But I really felt he didn't give two ** about his customers. I tried to settle in with my wine to focus on the bigger picture aka the food but unfortunately it didn't make up for the experience. We ordered the Spring chicken, Beef Bourguignon along with the Seabass with creamy spinach sauce. The sea bass was the most unmemorable, a bit overcooked but the bed of grains they served it with was superb. The beef with fries was the better dish out of all, red wine and good beef will almost without fail yield a good Bourguignon. The highlight of the night was actually the roasted duck fat potatoes under the slightly dry roasted spring chicken. Total damage: 400pp I think Ima stick with Bouchon for Super Mondays or Metropolitain for my monthly French cravings. Till then I'll probably look for another place.

Lunch is much more affordable and if it's your first visit, I'd recommend trying lunch first. FOOD Everything was nicely presented and satisfying. I enjoyed everything. ART Well there is definitely enough art to satisfy most cravings. This is good news since I'm sure that the art display is the main draw for Bibo. You can also expect an occasional rotation of the art. LOCATION It's not that obvious where their entrance is. My best tip is that there should be a nicely dressed guy standing outside.

I knew there's a restaurant on Hollywood Road that my friends had been recommending to me. I didn't put two and two together, which was a nice surprise when I was there. Stood at the front door for 30 seconds figuring out how to open the door, we found the button 5 seconds before it was too embarrassing. Pretty neat by the way, blended well with the rest of the street. Greeted by the staff leading down the stairs, "Obey the Giant" was there staring at you making you feel very excited already. Oh and there was a mini sculpture from Koons, a skull by Hirst, a wall print of Le Fifre by Manet (which I suspected to be from Banksy), a graffiti by André, and the Princess Peach by The Invader. A few calligraphy graffiti by Tsang Tsou Choi 曾灶財 even. If you love arts, you will fall in love with this place already. You'd have noticed how the restaurant and the menu were inspired by La Compagnie Generale Francaise de Tramway, the original company resided at this very same address at 1930s. They didn't oversell it though, so it was a nice touch to have. We had a 5 course dinner menu to share and a daily special. Foie gras, slow-cooked eggs with crab cake, red snapper, etc. They were all way too good but as they keep rotating the dishes, it wouldn't be the most helpful telling you how they tasted anyway. Trust your servers' recommendations, if anything helps. (Looking back I don't even think I've ever rated any restaurant six stars just because of the food). What was worth the extra start was service here, which was top notch to say the least. Both myself and my partner noted that they had two different servers to recommend to us the food and the wine respectively, and each of the dishes was served by a different server. We kept looking at the arts around us during the dinner, and a server came by and offered to give us a short intro to each of the arts (which we eventually didn't have the time, but that's beyond the point). We also casually chatted up with the last server who served us the dessert. He asked if it's any occasion we chose to have a dinner here, and we answered, "Yeah, not a biggie but just a cheeky celebration of [something personal]." He later, as a surprise, gave us extra set of sweeties with a candle and the "Happy [something personal]!" written on the dish. We went over the moon. Will definitely come back, maybe to try their branch some time. (And if the manager sees this review, please let me know if Le Fifre was Banksy's work!)
