    Non-Dairy Section - Pints
    Winston L.

Honorary Six Stars We walked into a 50 Licks Friday night and it was very straight to the point. Flavors on the menu board, pints in a stand-up freezer and two servers rotating to provide customers with their delicious ice cream. No other distractions on the walls or in the store. Their Mango and Sticky Rice Ice Cream is my favorite non-dairy flavor I've ever had and it's definitely up there in just overall favorites. Mango, coconut, pandan - it's all in there and just a really fun combo in frozen form. The other flavor I went with was Strawberry. This one was also packed with flavor and I'd also highly recommend. I sampled Lavender Salted Caramel, which had an authentic flavor but wasn't for me, since I just like a hint of lavender. I also tried the coconut lemon saffron which seemed lighter than the rest with the bright citrus notes. I didn't notice a textural difference between dairy and non-dairy - both very creamy. Our friends and I came back two more times to get a pint of the mango and sticky rice. I'd recommend letting it temper a bit since we ate it on the firm side and it wasn't as good as the initial scoops. Overall, I wish I could try all the flavors since we really liked most of the items. I would highly recommend Fifty Licks and it's not surprising they have a few locations spread through the city.

My favorite ice cream shop in Portland! Obsessed with their vegan flavors specifically the mango sticky rice! Very delicious and I love how the flavors are always consistent.

They have street parking and service is friendly and helpful. We got the double classic each and all flavors we chose were soo delicious. Highly recommend trying more than 1 flavor. Lavender salted caramel - 10/10 delightful. Unique combination that surprisingly works really well Matcha mochi - good matcha flavor, not the fake matcha that tastes artificial and sugary. Also has mochi bits inside which are very yummy Banana foster - tasted like fresh banana bread and it's not too sweet. No artificial flavor or sugar. My boyfriend was very happy with his choice Mango sticky rice - very yummy. I think adding mango chunks would've made it even more perfect! The coconut rice reminded me of tapioca pudding actually. Not too sweet and flavor tasted very natural

fifty licks is my go to ice cream place whenever in Portland. This is one of the few ice cream places I've been to than I actually get more than just one flavor. The service was good, they let us try multiple sample samples and the ambience was nice because it was air-conditioned for a hot day

Great Decor & Vibe. Visited this place at 10pm and this is one of the best option to get ice cream in town. The Matcha Mochi has best combined taste. There are tons of other flavors that also attempting but unfortunately is 10 PM and I couldn't have much dessert at that time. Service is great, once you come they offer you to take any sample before pick ones. Everyone is so welcoming! What else missing than coming for the second time?! They also give you loyalty food card for free ice cream! Da best so far in Portland

Really cute spot with a fun, pastel vibe -- kind of like a little ice cream dreamland. The menu is a bit limited, but the flavors they do have are unique and taste exactly like what they promise. I especially appreciated the dairy-free options -- super tasty and satisfying. I liked it enough to come back a second time during our trip! The ice cream was so good, it definitely didn't last 50 licks.

My partner and I were on the hunt for a sweet treat post savory snacks and saw Fifty Licks was nearby. It's on a fun strip with lots of other night life foodie attractions to try. I had a hard time looking up the current menu, which totally could have been user error haha. I walked in thinking there would be matcha mochi offered and was super bummed that it wasn't there. Instead I got the toasted milk, which tasted like cereal milk (cinnamon toast crunch) and banana foster. The tastes were okay, I was expected a more banana Nila type of taste for the foster, so I was a bit let down. The toasted milk was enjoyable but it would be nice if they had some cereal pieces maybe thrown into the ice cream base for some texture. I got two small scoops- they were HUGE! Def not complaining there, I enjoyed every bit! My partner got the mango sticky rice. That was delicious, they did a great job with the coconut base. I would say it probably needed a bit more salt to elevate the flavors more because it was good but was missing a little oomph. Extra mango pieces would've been good too! Seating is quite limited in the store, but the walkable location makes walking out with the ice cream part of the experience.

It's cool, nothing write home about. They have different flavors of ice cream but the flavors can get a little weird which I'm not a fan of. Just give me regular ice cream without all the special ingredients they add in there. Pricey for a scoop of ice cream. Not sure if I will be back.

This is a super cute and popular ice cream spot. The employees are very nice and don't mind if you try a lot of samples. I will say the vegan flavors are a on the icy side so I would recommend a non vegan flavor if you like your ice cream more creamy. If you are vegan or gluten free though there are a ton of options here. Not my favorite ice cream in Portland but a cute spot especially if you're looking for somewhere allergen friendly.

Great place that is open late. Came with a big group for ice cream. A lot of their flavors are vegan or coconut based which I'm not a huge fan of. I think I got the horchata flavor. Service was good but nothing memorable.

Great service and flavors. Love that they have an option for mini scoops so that you can enjoy a few different options. I had the brownie vs blondie and matcha mochi- both were tasty and flavorful. Their waffle cone is made fresh and not too thick, which I loved. Their prices are super reasonable and they have pints to go. Lines are long, but move quickly.

If I was a billionaire, I'd invest in this shop to open a second location by me in Maine. Small batch and homemade, these ice creams are luscious and delicious. They are not sickly sweet, and they don't need to be. They really let the flavors shine on their own. The thai iced tea is my favorite flavor, though the fresh banana is up there too. This trip already I have visited once IRL and later I ordered a shake from them for delivery to my hotel, which was great! No drop in quality there and they drew a cute little note. The service has always been amazing throughout the years. Got to meet THE Miss Oz herself one visit too! Scoops or in shake form, it's a must visit when we find ourselves back in PDX!

The vibe appears to be one of modern appearances, with old-school "ice cream parlor" ambiance (50s and 60s music is what is played, and I appreciate this). Variety of flavors is wide, and there are fresh cookies available. Prices are on the high side (location, though), the interior is very clean, and staff is very friendly and helpful. The cookies were disappointing, but not bad. Ice cream was on the better side of average, but is nothing groundbreaking. I definitely recommend stopping in for a fun experience if you're in the neighborhood.

It was good, but the coconut stood out quite a bit (I do like coconut). I ended up with one of the 4 grass-fed dairy options, all the good things, which had caramel ice cream, chocolate swirl and fudge and peanut butter chips. It was good. I had it in a waffle cone for $2 more, bringing my half scoop and cone to $5, I believe. The waffle cone was yummy. Ok.... disappointments in order of appearance with the disclosure, up front that we were visiting them in their last 30 minutes open.... having no intention whatsoever to eat our treats there but also figuring we'd have time to try stuff, get stuff and be ok. First disappointment - we both really were looking forward to trying, and assuming we would be eating the flavor they've been promoting - peanut butter butterscotch. Sounds so good right? Well we wouldn't know, because both the gals behind the counter almost mocked us for even thinking that they would have it available. It was a weird flex... truly they didn't even have a marker for it or language saying they were out of it - they just said it was not available in a weird way. I asked permission to try a few flavors... and gal number 1 give me an enthusiastic yes , which I appreciated. I'm sorry but I always want to try so many things, realizing that with each try, most flavors are too much - or would be too much if I got an order of it. I try to only taste 2-3 but almost always end up ordering the one I don't try which is vanilla (yep, that is how I roll). I tried the boysenberry which was incredible but, too much. I then tried the mint chocolate and confirmed I still don't like theirs (I had forgot it very punchy mint, more like mouthwash than fro yo) but I always try it because I keep hoping they will change the recipe. Soooo... gal 1 went away leaving gal 2. It genuinely felt like we just got handed to the bouncer... I honestly felt afraid to try anything else because she immediately was very aggressive... like "What else" isn't a question but an order to GTFO. This intensified as my friend had questions because she's vegan, so making sure things are vegan and she was curious about getting a shake - more going for a blizzard situation. Gal 2 started lecturing her about flavors saying she was interested in too many (because M&Ms & vegan butterfingers apparently ate a ridiculous ask?). She was also saying it would be chunky - isn't that the point? My friend asked if she had had a shake there and was given a very stern NO. It was just a bit insane... like, I appreciate you are maybe wanting to close early but WOW. I said , I just want vanilla thank you... and I figured I would just order Oreos on top - again, simple. She then lectured me that they don't have that and was trying to add cookie dough... ummm... have you had an Oreo? That is a completely different flavor, texture and thing .... and no... I started asking if there was any fresh fruit or something and she seemed confused at the question... I walked almost to the register and saw marion berry compote. Yes, that's all please angry person... my friend took her time ordering while I practically ran out. I was just super uncomfortable. She had perfect eyebrows I really wanted to compliment her on but it has been a bit since I felt such strong GTFO vibes. I assume maybe she had a spicy customer before us earlier but eek. It's so true about every encounter. I'll definitely remember this one as being pretty unpleasant. My friend joked that gee, her shake was delicious even though it was apparently made with pure hate.
