Paletas! (Some are seasonal!)
Rachel H.

Good grief everything here is delicious and so balanced. The paletas are insane, and made with fresh ingredients. I'm hooked on their house made soft serve with the chocolate shell.

Surprisingly delicious plant-based treats--this place nails it! Everything here is plant-based, but you honestly wouldn't know it. I ordered the oatchata paleta with a half chocolate dip, and it was so good--creamy, flavorful, and totally satisfying. You'd never guess it wasn't traditional horchata. The paletas are reasonably priced at around $4-$5, and the chocolate dip was just $1 extra for a half. The decor is quirky in the best way--creative, fun, and full of personality. It adds to the charm and makes the space feel welcoming. There isn't a ton of seating inside, just a couple of small tables, but most people seem to grab their treats to go. There are also benches right outside the exit if you want to hang out for a bit. Just a heads-up: parking is street-only. They also offer soft serve, which I didn't try this time--but it's definitely on my list for next visit. The staff were super friendly and happy to answer our questions, which made the experience even better. I'll absolutely be coming back to try more flavors. If you're curious about plant-based desserts, this spot will surprise you--in the best way. Well done!

5 stars are well deserved! Here's why... + 1 star for being 100% vegan and saving animals lives + 1 star for having a wide selection of flavors and toppings + 1 star for super friendly staff + 1 star for letting me use the gender neutral bathroom even though it's not for customers + 1 star for having indoor or outdoor seating This place is SO CUTE inside. There are cloud shaped tables and decor with a pastel vibe. I felt right at home. I got a caramel coffee bar and my partner got the mangolada. Both were delicious, and had the perfect consistency. Street parking was easy to find. No complaints.

the interior of this shop is so cool ! i loved the art on the walls. we got two thiccflurries; one with chocolate soft serve and one vanilla and we chose our own toppings. i definitely want to go back to try the paletas !

Chai Pear Paleta with Mázapan
Nicole S.

This was a very interesting experience. I haven't been to a strictly vegan ice cream or Paleta shop(for that matter)ever. So I was very curious to try what I saw. I had the Chai PNW Pear with peanut Mázapan as a topping. At first when I tasted the Paleta i had thought it was a bit too sweet and that the chai flavor overwhelmed the pear, but once I got further in and made sure to get bites with the peanut it ready was tasty. The shop is cute and a bit small but really highlights the products. I enjoyed the Paleta, my only thought is that the consistency was *quite* icy and I do prefer a bit more of a smooth consistency. Still very much worth trying

I never thought I'd have to write something like this, but there was a literal metal part from their machine in my ice cream. Completely unacceptable. Not only is that a choking hazard, it's incredibly dangerous and shows a serious lack of quality control!!!! I get that mistakes happen, but this isn't just a hair or a bad flavor--it's a potential health and safety issue!!!!

Lime and jamaica mango paletas
Marissa L.

Great spot for sweet treats. I've tried the lime and jamaica mango flavors of paletas, and while the lime was refreshing, the jamaica mango was fantastic. I would get that one again, along with some of the others that I didn't get to try last time. They also have soft serve, and we tried one of their Thiccflurries, which was fine, but the paletas are the stars here for me.

Stopped by this appealing shop after dinner during PDX trip. Can't say I've tried vegan ice cream bars before, but my Oatchata bar was enjoyable (I am a sucker for horchata). Not as creamy rich as with dairy, but after all the eating done during the trip, it's good to take it easy on the extra fats. Kid was looking for his usual cookies n cream version, but they had run out, which made him sad and pout, lol. Lady offered to add the cookies topping for him to any bar he chose, what quick thinking and great service! While vegan ice cream can't be as good as the paletas with dairy, this seems like a great treat for those who prefer vegan. I'm guessing the non-dairy would have it's advantage on being more refreshing on a hot day, especially in the fruit flavors.

Yummy! While going to get a popsicle in the middle of fall may be weird to some, it hit the spot for me. I got the sour green apple popsicle with coconut caramel, and it hit the spot. The staff was very polite and friendly. The shop is a bit small, bit there is seating inside and out or you can get walk around the area. There is a park not too far away you can always go to. I will say this is one of those areas where parking is a bit of a chore but not super hard.

Rolo and S'mores thiccflurries!

Voted Best Vegan Ice Cream Shop in America by VegNews for a reason! Ice Queen is so good, we love their thicc flurries and iced coffees. The owner always decorates the shop so cute, I love seeing the progression of the Halloween decorations every year! I have a sticker on one of my reusable cups and got another one for my water bottle I saw a review mentioning how one employee ruins the experience and I think I know who they are talking about. They just seem quiet to me and for all you know they are shy. It's not like they're rude, just doing their job. People really need to get over themselves. :) If you haven't tried Ice Queen yet, do it! 100% vegan ice cream shop

S'mores thickflurry and front window table

The smores thick flurry was amazing! So creamy and poofy. Service was quick and the person is very nice (Edit) after I had a little bit of an upset stomach but it was worth it

S'Mores Thiccflurry. Get this. You won't regret it!

If I was a billionaire, I'd invest in this shop to open a second location by me in Maine. Small batch and homemade, these ice creams are luscious and delicious. They are not sickly sweet, and they don't need to be. They really let the flavors shine on their own. The thai iced tea is my favorite flavor, though the fresh banana is up there too. This trip already I have visited once IRL and later I ordered a shake from them for delivery to my hotel, which was great! No drop in quality there and they drew a cute little note. The service has always been amazing throughout the years. Got to meet THE Miss Oz herself one visit too! Scoops or in shake form, it's a must visit when we find ourselves back in PDX!

The marionberry was sweet, tart, and refreshing. The birthday cake had bits of yellow cake and confetti folded into the ice cream. The Belgian chocolate was deep and decadent. The bowl was filled to the top and our waffle cone was served to the side because the scoops would not have fit. My parents had the hibiscus coconut sorbet and chocolate sorbet. Both are dairy free. My parents were indifferent to both flavors. The hibiscus flavor was too strong whereas the coconut was too subtle. The chocolate sorbet has an intense cocoa flavor and they generally prefer a sweeter version.

Employees were helpful, not necessarily friendly. You e got a good array of vegan options. I believe all Made with coconut milk, so if you're not a fan of coconut, this might not be your vegan ice cream spot. I tried the sea salt caramel with chocolate chips, which was vegan. It was good, but the coconut stood out quite a bit (I do like coconut). I ended up with one of the 4 grass-fed dairy options, all the good things, which had caramel ice cream, chocolate swirl and fudge and peanut butter chips. It was good. I had it in a waffle cone for $2 more, bringing my half scoop and cone to $5, I believe. The waffle cone was yummy. I wouldn't say the ice cream was anything more special than you can get in your freezer, but nice to have an option out if you're plant-based. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the ice cream.

The store offered single, double, split and kids scoops. They had waffle cone and bowls available as well. We picked the double vanilla and my favorite sea salt caramel ribbons. The kid's scoop costed $5.25 each and additional toppings were 75 cents each. I loved both the scoops. The taste was as good as other locations we had tried. The ice cream was dense and creamy. We enjoyed our time at the store, sitting by the benches they had by the large open windows.

First of all, you have to know it's in a sketchy part of town that doesn't feel very safe. I would recommend parking as close to Voodoo as you possible can. It's not easy as the location is in an area that doesn't feature much parking. Thankfully, Voodoo employs a security guard to monitor who goes into the doughnut shop, so I guess it adds a little feeling of safety. On our visit, only one party was allowed in at a time to the lobby area of the shop. Before going in you have to cue up in line outside. We went on a random weekday at around 8:30pm and had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. The interior of voodoo is very unique and interesting. When inside you can see all their doughnut offerings. The doughnuts are quite large and on the heavy/dense side. We ordered the Voodoo Dozen and it was a hefty box. To get a good sample of everything I think the Voodoo Dozen is a good way to go. It samples a number of famous donuts. I surprising found the grape donut to be one of my favorites. I suppose if you like grape flavored things this bought also be a doughnut for you! Overall the donuts are good, but I wouldn't call them top of the line. They are a bit over-sweet and they are not delicate. They are, however, very novel and a lot of fun. They make great conversation pieces and will definitely kill your hunger. I really enjoyed my visit to Voodoo and probably would go again!
