This bank is a liability to do business with. I have just negotiated a mortgage refinance and needed to wire the closing fees. Fifth Third was unable to perform a simple wire transfer via phone or internet. They insisted I visit a local branch. This was impossible because I was 450 miles from the nearest branch on a work trip. I had to work around this outrageous roadblock using a cash advance from a competing bank. If Fifth Third is unable to provide services outside of a brick and mortar building, they had better have one on every block. Since they don't, and are also unable to provide internet banking in an internet age, they become a dangerous and unreliable place to hold your money.
Without the assistance of Bank of America, and had I been forced to rely on Fifth Third, the refinance would not have closed and I would have lost tens of thousands of dollars in interest savings. read more
