Had dinner here for the first time on a Friday night & although it was chilly out, we wanted to sit outside. They have heating lamps so that's nice & so is their decor..plenty of seating too. They give you warm chips & salsa, very good we asked for more with our meals. I ordered their taco salad with ground beef that comes in a nice flour tortilla shell that wasn't soggy at the bottom at all. Their rice & guac were well seasoned. My husband got the steak fajitas which looked good & he said they tasted great. Good portions, friendly staff & great ambiance esp outside. Will definitely be back. read more

Stumbled across this place while in area. The food was decent. I've eaten at many Mexican restaurants back in the day in San Jose/Santa Clara areas: El Burro, La Paloma, Baja Cactus, Aztec, etc. Basically, authentic Mexican has changed, perhaps seasoned down. I still argue the chips are fresh, salsa flavorful with a tiny bit of heat, and chicken taco salad was good. I will be back for lunch asking for the lemonade. Staff is kind and nice. This has been my go to place for good Mexican food for many years. I have never been disappointed with the taste or quality of my meals there. Love the outdoor patio seating area. Just the right amount out shade and Sun. If indoor is your thing or sitting at the bar, they offer this too. Once, you are seated you are given good chips and salsa. Another plus is after a good lunch or dinner you can walk it off in beautiful downtown Los Altos ! The only reason I didn't give Fiesta Vallarta a 5 Star Review is because unfortunately the service is lacking a bit. What use to be a friendly welcome has turned into a "meh"welcome experience. Cost has gone up but what hasn't !? Two Tosada Salads (1 Chicken / 1 Vegetarian) and 1 Arnold Palmer costed around $50.00. About the average now for a lunch for two in this area. read more

The mole is outstanding. They should promote it as their #1 staple. I found it rich and flavorful. Had the chicken enchilada mole. The chicken was tender and shredded. I was surprised with the cheese choice (shredded yellow) in a mole enchilada, I would have thought it would have been cotija. The rice was fluffy and flavored as it should be for Mexican rice. The refried beans were creamy, blended well and tasted homemade. The chips and salsa - are always my tickler to gauge their authenticity. Light. Crispy chips. And salsa was blended, simple but yummy. The fajita combo platter chicken, beef, shrimp. The chicken was tender but had almost zero seasoning. The beef was also very tender - fall apart strips. Almost no seasoning as well. The shrimp were the most flavorful. The veggies had a little bite which was great bc some restraints overcook them. These were great. Also had mushroom slices which was new to me. The prices were a little overpriced for Mexican food but it is located in PA and I'm sure rent is high for their corner space. Our bill was about $50. No cocktails. Parking was easy. Delicious Six of us had dinner here on New Years Day. We were happy to see they were open since we were in the mood for Mexican food. I had the carnitas. Juicy tasty chunks of pork accompanied with rice, beans and tortillas. Very tasty meal. Popo had the chili relleno and she says it was delicious. My wife and daughter both had the chicken enchiladas and they said they were yummy. My sons girls friend had the chicken burrito supreme. She said it was very good. The service was spot on too. This was my third visit to Fiesta Vallarta and I still have no complaints about the service or the food. We were greeted and seated promptly and given the option to sit wherever we wanted. Even though it was a wet day, they were still seating on the patio. We did opt for indoors, but hopefully the next visit will be on a better day. I love to sit amongst the greenery and funky decor. Chips and salsa were brought to the table quickly and I found myself becoming addicted to the salsa almost as quickly. They aren't trying to reinvent the wheel. The extensive menu features all the classic, comfort food standards. They have a choice combo plate I really enjoy--a chile relleno and mole enchilada. It was nothing short of delicious third time around. The chili was large and filled with plenty of melted cheese. Mole sauce varies from restaurant to restaurant, recipe to recipe and I have my places where I've tried it and it didn't work for me. I really enjoy Fiesta Vallarta's recipe, sweet but balanced to not be overly so. The enchilada was over stuffed with chicken, but it's easy enough to eat around. A combo plate is, of course, not complete without rice and beans. Rice had good flavor and I loved the runny texture of the refried beans. The pico de gallo topping the salad was great scooped onto a chip. I had to chuckle when I saw a full grown adult man taking some of his meal home in a doggie bag and I, at probably half his size, was sending back a clean plate. Dreadfully expensive! Our three Margarita's were $18, $17, and $17, and the guacamole side $17; you get the idea. I was also disappointed with my single tasteless cheese enchelada which had only only a small piece of 1/16" of cheese in it (and it wasn't cheap). Went to Fiesta Vallarta early last night and I have to say the food was beyond disappointing. We had the chicken enchiladas and chicken fajitas and both were almost tasteless. It appears as if they put no seasoning on the chicken at all. Just boiled chicken cut up. Sauce and salsa were also bland. Service was good when we first arrived, but once the regulars started showing up, we were ignored. The outdoor patio is nice but not worth the food or the prices they charge. read more

Not sure what has happened to this place. It used to be good. Now it tastes like someone who doesn't know how to cook is running the kitchens. Possibly the worst chicken enchiladas I've had in a while and my husband got the worst taco. The meat was sautéed in the pan with salt folded into a tortilla and literally topped with one teaspoon of gauc and sour cream. It felt like tacos to serve to a four year old. $20 each. Good, solid Mexican food with outdoor/patio seating - we liked this place. Downtown Los Altos can feel like you're on vacation and the patio lunch we had here definitely felt like we were out of town. We had margaritas and beer, tacos and tamales. Can't go wrong. My favorite thing about this Restaurant is the lush tropical outdoor patio area with water foundation. It's so beautiful and relaxing! The front door entrance lacked aesthetics though. . I sat outside and sipped on a Cadillac Margarita, enjoyed the chicken Enchilada Roja and my friend ordered Chile Rellenos. The food was average and service was friendly. Ok maybe we just haven't been out that much for a really long time. We have probably had a half dozen solid 3 star experiences over the years, but tonight was different. Chips and salsa solid as always. But service was on point, even while we were a pain in the ass, changing tables for our group of 9. Guac was really good. My boys had steak fajitas (we tried to have them split one), and they gobbled it up so we ordered another. My chicken fajitas were good as well. Cadillac margaritas by the pitcher were perfect. We've been coming here since 2018, and all through the Covid pandemic. Their Los Altos margarita is the best I've ever had; if you like anejo, go for the Golden Gate. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal, even when we'd order to go during the dark days of Covid. Came in for team lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were a group of almost 15 and were seated in the courtyard which was lovely! The house salsa was lacking flavor. We asked for a spicy version which had some flavor. The Guacamole was decent but the quantity was too little. The main course looked better than it tasted. Overall the food could use some flavor. Their chips baskets are stacked up 15 high under heat lamps, generic tortillas...not hand made. Average price for an entree is $25. A single taco is $8...a "light meal" which is are 2 tacos with rice is $14.99. A small bowl of guacamole is $14 - Lol. I know the Bay Area is expensive but come on!! This place is just OVERPRICED. Actually an enjoyable place despite the three star reviews. The only weird downside that turned into an upside was when I asked if they had any birthday specials. One Dood said they didn't but our actual server asked if it was someone's birthday and I said yes. A few minutes later her, and a bunch of servers came to sing happy birthday and gave some flan. The food was nice. Pricy but typical for the area. The outside seating was nice, great ambience. I should try the clams with the red sauce, the white sauce was alright. I ordered a vegetarian tostada, and I expected to simply get a tostada with some lettuce, black beans, and a few pieces of tomato, but I was pleasantly surprised to get a mixture of vegetables too, including some jalapeño pieces and onions to spice it up a bit. Very nice sized portions. The tostada salad was well balanced with a fair amount of meat and less rice which is always a good thing. Despite being in Los Altos, they still give you complimentary chips and salsa. The burrito was generously proportioned and also well balanced. read more
