Mole Rosado (probably) - A Mexican dish featuring rice, black beans with cheese, a salad, and a main course with sauce and pomegranate seeds.
    Emily Y.

Wasn't really into the food, but it's probably my fault. I ordered the mole oaxaca, received the mole rosado(I think, based on the color), but decided to just eat it because it's something new, why not! It didn't really taste like anything. The rice and beans were flavorful and delicious though, so I figure they have some good dishes, just maybe not the mole rosado.

What in the name of vegan food did I just eat? Wow, so very delicious! And the margarita was wonderful. Our server was super nice and friendly, but I forgot his name. Just an amazing experience all around!!

Very flavorful tacos. The green and red sala and chips were so tasty. Delightful visit! Would come back!!

    Mole tasting is a must!

My number one recommendation here is to try the mole sampler! Such a fun experience. My husband and I read the ingredients for each mole and had so much fun tasting and discussing. We also like the rest of what we tried, particularly the relleno in veracruz sauce. Yummy southern Mexican food, nice atmosphere and patio, great service and such a fun mole tasting experience!

We were there recently to celebrate a birthday and had an amazing meal: the seafood soup was top notch, the traditional chicken enchiladas with mole tradicional was out of this world as was the uniquely tasty pink mole (mole rosado) which included exotic ingredients such as vanilla and white chocolate. Great service and the fresh tortillas (corn, of course) were excellent: they add chile poblano to the masa so the end result is a beautiful light green fresh and warm tortilla as good as any I've had in Oaxaca. Next time I gotta have the Chiles en nogada

    Chiles Rellenos Veracruz- so yummy!

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to get off the busy main plaza for lunch. We walked down a block or so and found this wonderful southern Mexican restaurant for lunch. Friendly services and food is seasoned perfectly!

If you are vegan, go here! Half the menu can be made vegan and everything was creatively delicious. I had the mole rosado de Pinon and the mole Oaxaca. Tamarind margarita to match. Very friendly and chill vibe. Go for the flavor!

My friend and I randomly stopped in and we're not disappointed. The place is quaint but has space for groups with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and even though we were the only guests outside we were waited in promptly. We both ordered mole dishes thinking we were getting the enchiladas; however, there was some miscommunication and we got the platter. Since it was the same meat and mole we decided to not press it. So make sure to be clear on what you want because dishes are named the same thing! While that was a bummer the food was delicious especially the mole and beans! I would have eaten much more beans had I been served. They were not too salty with a great amount of flavor. When getting a to go box the waiter offered more beans and rice! My heart was overjoyed. Cool to recognize that a costumer enjoyed something and to provide more. Will definitely being coming back.

This place is cool, has a great patio and delicious margaritas! I had the mole the Oaxaca, it was good but a little too sweet for my taste.

Zero customer service. We walked out after waiting 15 mins. We came here especially for the mole; what a shame they didn't want our money.

The owner/server made us feel like we were guests in their home rather than just customers in a restaurant. Genuine, warm, and welcoming -- the kind of hospitality that instantly makes your night better. Now the food... WOW. The prickly pear margarita deserves its own paragraph. It was easily one of the best margaritas I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. If you come here and don't order one, you're doing it wrong. What I loved most is that this place is equally amazing for vegetarians AND meat eaters. That's rare. * The squash taco was absolutely incredible -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and proof that vegetarian dishes can be just as exciting as anything with meat. * Meanwhile, the menu is also a meat-lover's paradise with tons of taco options and traditional Mexican dishes that pack huge flavor. Everything tasted fresh, bold, and made with care. You can tell there's real pride behind the food here. Between the amazing tacos, the unforgettable margaritas, and the genuinely kind service, this was one of those meals you keep thinking about long after you leave. 10/10 -- would go back every time I'm in Santa Fe. !!!!!! Rellenos were covered in lots of red sauce which had the besttt flavor but absolutely no spice :/ the relleno also had 0 spice. 0/10 for spice level so also if you're a newbie go for it!! Beans on the side were topped with sour cream which actually was great! Also shrimp/fish tacos were delishh. Really good flavor and freshness. Would have been amazing to have some crispy taco options but soft was nice. Rice was the worst part of the whole experience! Soooo bland. Worst I've had in a long time for real! Thankfully the dishes have a lot of sauce to soak it up with. The bathrooms were cute but the men's bathroom is a one person and does not lock... anyways! We loved the vibe ambiance and the waiters were really awesome!! I'd recommend!

For my husband's meal, he ordered green chile enchiladas, smothered in their famous hatch green chile and melted cheese. The sauce had that perfect New Mexican balance -- flavorful, a little smoky, and with just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the dish. I went with chicken tacos, served with Spanish rice and all the fresh toppings. The tacos were loaded with shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa, and the rice on the side was fluffy and well seasoned. To drink, I tried a layered frozen margarita, which was as fun to look at as it was to drink -- icy, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny afternoon on the patio. My husband had a cold beer, it made for the ultimate Santa Fe lunch combo. Between the flavorful food, the relaxed patio atmosphere, and the classic New Mexican dishes done right, Tomasita's is one of those spots that reminds you why Santa Fe's food scene is so special. Not really sure what all the hype is about when there are definitely better spots to eat around Santa Fe. I ordered the carne adovada. The red chile sauce felt pretty one-note and the pork was on the tough side, which was disappointing given how popular the dish is there. Honestly, the chips and salsa were the highlight of the meal. The salsa definitely has some heat to it too . Overall, between the long wait and average food, it just didn't live up to the reputation.

The red has that deep, earthy flavor with just the right kick, while the green brings a brighter, roasted heat that balances everything out. Together? That classic "Christmas style" combo that hits on every level. The masa was soft and flavorful (not dry like you get at some places), and the filling was generous and well-seasoned. The sides sealed the deal--fluffy Spanish rice, hearty beans, and a fresh, crisp salad that cut through the richness perfectly. Portion size was solid, presentation was clean, and everything tasted like it was made with care--not rushed, not watered down for tourists. Service was quick, friendly, and exactly what you want when you're trying to keep a night moving. Authentic, satisfying, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Santa Fe. We thought we might have got the closing time mixed up so once we found a parking spot, I went over to ask. They said they were moving all of the tables so that they could clean the concrete pathway. We asked if it was OK we sat outside still with our dog and they said that was fine. They moved us to the other side of the pillar which we originally didn't mind but then quickly realized there's no lighting there. So we were eating dinner in a very dim lit area. After reading the reviews, we were excited to try the fish tacos, tamales, and fresh chips and salsa. Unfortunately, none of these really were superstar standouts for us. The blackened fish didn't have a ton of flavor. I found myself searching for a salsa that had a little bit of salt and flavor to spruce up the fish taco. I ate one of the three and my husband ate the remaining. The tamales tasted fresh and the ratio of protein to masa was great. We ate the tamale mostly without the mole sauce, which we didn't really care for. The salsa and chips that came out as an appetizer were fine. The salsas were different and flavorful. I wish that when they dropped off the different salsas (which they do on a rotation) they would have explained what each one was.
