    Chicken? or chick?
    Oscar O.

I ordered a whole chicken from Fiesta and they gave me this. A chicken that can barely feed two people. I got charged almost 50 for a whole chicken and a salchipapa and this is what i get?? Not cool

Great option for Peruvian food ~ friendly service and good comfort food. Lunch specials are priced right - the jalea mixto

Automatic gratuity for 2 people and then an additional gratuity recommendation at the bottom? The greediness is disgusting!
    Billy D.

The food is great and the aji is the best around. But It's a tad annoying when the restaurant adds an automatic gratuity. I usually tip 25% for great service, 18-20% for okay service and 15% for poor service. Not your traditional standards... but, that said gratuity has always been an optional expense for people. If you're going to charge an automatic gratuity please notify your customers or have it posted at the entrance and visibly at the host stand. It's also disgusting that you even added an additional recommendation to tip on top. It's almost as if you're hoping people don't realize and double tip.

    Bread basket and inca cola

We had a hankering for Peruvian food and instead of going to our favorite place in Fairfield, decided to try another place in Norwalk. This place was recommended by Jane Stern who is a food critic for the News times. So the place is in a shopping mall off of Route 1 (Connecticut Ave) next to an Indian supermarket. Parking is tight but there is space available. The decor and ambiance isn't much to look at. The seating is grey plastic booths and where we were seated, we actually were facing the wait staff, kitchen and bathroom areas. So i guess it was quite open. But the layout is quite poor and hopefully they think about changing that. The service was decent. Our waiter took our order promptly and our appetizer arrived super fast. Oh and they did bring out a bread basket with bread that actually tasted really good but no butter. I thought the papa huancaina was great, but my hubby thought the aji could have been spicier. I was happy! Our dinners were delicious but not as juicy as we're use to. So if you're ordering lomo Saltado, remember to ask for 'jugoso' which means 'juicy' in spanish. Our waiter was attentive despite it becoming busy but we did like him. So why not a "4", I'll tell you. Remember I said we were facing the wait staff? Well, as the young lady with dark hair in a long pony tail was filling up the bread basket, the thin wax paper that's placed below the bread falls to the floor. She snatches it off the floor and then proceeds to put bread in the basket. I think the side that actually touched the floor was against the basket, not the food, but i have to tell you i was shocked. I kept watch the rest of the time and didn't see it happen again, but i kept thinking, would you serve this to your family? Anyway, food and service were good, but unfortunately we're not going back. And if you see a young thin girl with long dark hair, think twice about eating the bread.

I normally stick with 2 other Peruvian restaurants, but I decided to venture out. Now I can only rate a place on my go-to meal of pollo saltado. It's not lomo saltado which is the gold standard of peruvian food in my opinion but if a place can do those 2 well then they will get my business. The pollo saltado portion size seemed a little bigger than others which is nice. Normally, pollo saltado has a hint of spice in it but not this one. The peppers and onions had a nice crunch to them which I loved but there was no flavor to anything. It was very blend, including the aji surprisingly. Fyi the food was done very quickly. I don't know if I would order from here again since it wasn't better than my go to spots. It was quick pick up which is convenient. Maybe some of the other items are better but that's not for me to try! Come check it out.

    Lomo soltado, excellent

Okay...I hear you, the service might not be top notch, the best of the best. But I hear some whiners, and I think that they are part of the problem - stop being such a giiiiit and maybe you will have better experiences when you go places. I have never been upset with the service, and in fact, I am always SHOCKED with how quickly food comes out. Yea, the place isn't beautiful, and they need to spend money on updates, but don't change the kitchen, because that's where the magic happens. Well, I digress. The food here is worth whatever difficulties you have with the service and the decor. Where else can you get cheap food that tastes delicious. That Aji sauce - I could eat it off a foot. When you saturate your lomo soltado in it, no other restaurant has a chance. I have been here multiple times, and my criteria for 5 stars is a craving after I leave, and thank you Fiesta Limena for giving me that craving. If I do find better lomo soltado, then I will be the one who has touched by an angel.

    Pollo saltado!

One of my favorite Peruvian places in Ct. The interior might not be the most aesthetically appealing, but the service and food is always spot on. A nice place to grab some lunch! Three and a half stars.

I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable this food is! Lots of tapas available and decent sizes. I would even say even al the tapas are a tad bigger than other tapas places. If you do decide to give this place a try, I definitely recommend the Ceviche, fresh and perfect for the summer. They also have a variety of empanadas ham and cheese, chorizo, beef...etc. Make sure to pair it with a pineapple mojito. YUM! Great service. Very clean and we even had a chance to meet the chef.

The food is well presented (usually brought to your table by Raul, the chef/owner), delicious, very reasonable and eclectic. The arepas are amazing, the paella is good, as is the ceviche, tacos, stews and more. Unfortunately the place is struggling admits Raul, who bought the restaurant from the former owner. Raul is Ecuadorian and now his server is Alvaro, a polite, very personable fellow who just turned 21 the night I ate there. I was there for dinner with friends the previous Friday and went back for Thursday, all evening, tapas happy hour which was extensive and excellent; but don't just go for the inexpensive tapas which (will set you back a whole $20), go for a great date night any time, the menu is amazing. The food and service were both excellent, and the portions were incredibly generous. We started with the Ceviche Especial, which was absolutely massive -- easily enough for two people. It came loaded with fresh seafood like mussels, clams, squid, fish, and octopus, all marinated perfectly and topped with plenty of red onions. It also came with some cold boiled potatoes, which added a nice balance to the tangy and refreshing flavors. The anticuchos (grilled beef heart) were another highlight. Even though it's listed as an appetizer, the portion was big enough to be a main. The meat was tender and nicely grilled, and it paired amazingly with their ají verde (spicy green sauce). That sauce was so good we ended up eating way too much of the bread just to keep dipping it in. We also ordered yuca frita (fried yuca), which my son loved -- crispy on the outside and soft inside. My personal favorite was the tallarín verde con bistec. The pasta was tossed in a rich basil-spinach pesto, and the steak was thin, juicy, and cooked just right -- medium rare. It all came together beautifully. We left full and happy. The portions are huge, the flavors were great, the service was warm, and the prices were more than fair for how much food we got. We'll be back next time we visit Stepping Stones.

I'm always interested in discovering restaurants that serve genuine dishes from different countries without Americanized alterations. When he mentioned the location, I recognized exactly where it was. He specifically recommended the Fried Rice, known as Chaufas. I also learned from him that Chinese influence is prevalent in Peruvian cuisine due to historical migration, which explains why these flavors are integrated. The restaurant operates as a takeout spot, with no seating available. Upon entering, I was greeted promptly. Initially, I planned to order the Fried Rice, but I decided to try the Lomo Salado with white rice and added chicken instead. The Fried Rice can wait for another visit. My order was ready in about fifteen minutes, and it was substantial enough to serve two people--really good value. The rice was delicious, cooked to perfection--fluffy and well-prepared, even if it lacked a bit of seasoning. They provided a side of Lomo Salado broth, which I could pour over the dish, but I found it unnecessary. The steak was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The chicken I added was decent; it was well seasoned but tasted somewhat cheap, so I wouldn't order it again. The French fries were good, though I prefer rice as a side. Overall, the meal was excellent, and the customer service was outstanding. I'm already looking forward to returning to try the Fried Rice.
