It is a very fun and funky place. Totally authentic. When I called I couldn't even get anyone to answer any questions for me in English, so I instantly thought "Damn, their food is going to be GOOD!". And it was. I went in on a Sunday morning and I was surprised that the dining room was about half full and they had about 5 servers between the bar and the dining room. The other section of the store seemed devoted to hot food for take out and Colombian imports. I had a delicious guanabana smoothie and an awesome breakfast consisting of one huge arepa, rice, eggs, and and decent sized, perfectly cooked steak on top of it all for 8 bucks. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that they seemed unconcerned with giving me service or getting me my check in a timely manner. This might just be a cultural thing, but I didn't like how I kept getting passed off from one server to the next. Still, well worth it for the authentic food and lively atmosphere.

It took a long time for our food to come because our food was given to someone else. They were apologetic and said they'd give us some special drink pricing. But it was interesting to hear them tell the people next to us that they didn't have to pay for the food that they were accidentally given, even though they sat there and ate the entire thing, while we were the ones waiting and it wasn't even their food! The calamari(although MUCH smaller portion that what we saw at other tables and other people at the bar) and ceviche. the chaufa de pollo were very good. We ate. bit of all and took a lot home. Except my husband ate all of the ceviche... The owner came over and apologized about the wait/error. A meal could actually be visualized with this kind of portion as a whole, which is important because before I got to eat this I was getting quite a bit hangry (trust me, you do NOT want me getting hangry). I got my steak medium done, which they were. Rice was also cooked well, and the juice from the steak that got on the rice was flavorful. Onions were crisp too and a good cut. However, and this is a BIG however, even though I did get napkins in my bag as well as the Inca Cola I'd added in, there was nothing to eat anything with. No fork, no nothing. I'm sorry, is it illegal now to put eating utensils in with our delivery orders? Is assuming that they'd just give me a fork to eat my lunch with against the law now or something? Where I work doesn't always give me accessibility to be able to use eating utensils when we have lunch breaks, so I had to wait a while before even beginning to eat most of what I'd had. I was still able to eat the fries since that is usually a finger food anyway, but Lomo Saltado is definitely NOT a finger food! You need eating utensils for that, I don't care if it's delivery or not. That's like trying to eat Mac and cheese with my bare hands. See where I'm going with this? Maybe if I were to go in person things would be different for the better. As it is now though, I cannot overlook the lack of eating utensils. Ah well.

We need to support the businesses on Main Street, as many of them are closing. I would hate for this spot to close as well. We know South Norwalk is changing.
